Tom Jurassic Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I'd say they're too similar, but honestly how much different should they be anyways? At the end of the day they're representing the same basic animal, so color variation is probably about all we could expect to begin with, and with the Lego color palette there are limited options with that anyhow. Plus re-using existing molds has got to be good for cost, hopefully the JW sets won't be as bare as the last Dino theme was. The Raptors are pretty awesome, definitely can't wait to see the sets. That is a fair point. Hopefully this means the vehicles get a lot of focus in terms of matching their on-screen design, as we know there's a whole plethora of vehicles in JW. And hopefully it means that structurally, we could maybe see small enclosure and habitat pieces in each set! Quote
SMC Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I thought the new sets might use more realistic colors better they seem to have gone the other way, not sure how I feel about them. Do we know where which set the shark will be in, sorry if you said in the video Just2good wife has x factor on so sound a no go. Quote

There's no sound, but I think the shark will be in Ultra Agents, not in Jurassic World. Or even a new Aqua theme. You guys can use this album I made to view the recent dino moulds and such. I understand the videos can be a pain... Edited November 15, 2014 by just2good Quote

I think the shark will be in agents for sure as we saw the same mold in agents before and it is a robot shark after all. Also that shark is great for the Jaws ideas project. Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 No Spinosaurus? Aw. I'm hoping that they're making some sets based on the other movies, because 7 dinos sounds a lot from sets based on only one movie right? Quote

Legoman123 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I love the look of those Dinosours! I can't wait to pick up every set from this theme. This is probably going to be the most expensive year ever for me with all these amazing sets coming out. Quote
SMC Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Am I the only one not liking the colors, hope the sets are great. Quote
Sir Walter Maugham Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Thanks for the pictures Just2good! A second chance to get dinos without paying an arm and a leg! Yippee! The dark green raptor with the sand green underbelly looks great. Not sure how I feel about the mutant T-rex... The colors, while quite unique, feel a bit bland. Quote

Colossus Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Whoa! Why are Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow fighting T-rex? What? Just wanted to throw my hat into the "start a cheesy rumor" ring and try it on fer size. Oddly unsatisfying... Carry on. Quote
ChrisLikesDinos Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) So happy to see what I heard about the Indominus Rex's appearance held true. Edited November 16, 2014 by ChrisLikesDinos Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Looking great!!! I can't wait to see how the sets themselves turn out. Still crossing my fingers for some "classic" JP sets as well. Quote
Plissken Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 The D-Rex looks great. If the look remains the same in the movie, I'm happy. The use of the old molds for the Rex and the Raptors is totally okay for me. The Dino line molds were heavily inspired by the Jurassic Park dinosaurs. It's logical to use those molds for a Jurassic Park line. Quote
williejm Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Am I the only one not liking the colors, hope the sets are great. No. I'm a bit perplexed by four different colour varieties of raptor (adding to two that already exist). That seems a little too much variety, and some of the colour choices look odd. Maybe they are prototypes. Am surprised to see the Coelophysis mold get reused, as it's a rather lame dino. With only the DRex getting new moulds so far, and the existing Triceratops & Pteranodon likely to be reused if there are sets from the first three movies, I wonder what the chances are for new molds & new dinos? Maybe there is a colour difference for female and male Raptors? Or wild and tamed? I think there will be an explanation for the differences. On the other hand I like the variety this colours give for MOCs. As for new molds, I think the Mosasaur will get some new pieces. The animal seems to be very prominent in this movie. Quote
Cammo Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) The white T-rex reminds me of the Ice Age 3 dinosaur. Edited November 16, 2014 by Cammo Quote
Frozen Assasin Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Where are Mosasaurus and Pterosaurus ? Also, why no herbivore dino's ? Quote

Frozen Assasin Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Vegetarians are always overlooked. Yep. I want my Sauropods and my Hadrosaurids. Also, I really hope they release a Spinosaurus; That would be just awesome. Quote

Gryphon Ink Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I'm very happy that they are using the Dino 2012 molds again. It will allow the sets to be significantly cheaper. Many of us didn't get all the dinos we wanted last time around (I only got a trike), and most importantly those molds are really good-looking dinosaurs. I'm hoping there are a couple of other sets that they are keeping tightly wrapped. It would suck if we never got a stegosaurus or ankylosaurus to go with these guys. They are classic dinos on a practical scale, and they would make our dino ecosystem much more complete. Quote
bricksnbricks Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 These Dino's look great. Can't wait to see the sets. Quote
ChrisLikesDinos Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Theory about the Raptors: Chris Pratt's character is said to work directly with the Velociraptors. Perhaps it's a small pride, and each has a distinct look as to make them stand out. Quote
