Amazing Bricks Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Found new and better pictures of the T-rex: EDIT BY MOD: Pictures Removed. Edited November 18, 2014 by CorneliusMurdock See Post below. Quote
ChrisLikesDinos Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Nice! I wish the listings for the Indominus Rex were still up. The pictures we have are kinda small. Edited November 16, 2014 by ChrisLikesDinos Quote
zipper778 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I'm so looking forward to this line. I missed out on the last dino line and would love a solid Dino HQ. Quote
Frozen Assasin Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Am I the only one who thinks that the heads of the carnivores would look great on sea reptiles ? Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Little bit off topic here, but in the original JP, the T-Rex survived, right? What if this Rex is the original one. Would explain the deco. Quote
arc Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Little bit off topic here, but in the original JP, the T-Rex survived, right? What if this Rex is the original one. Would explain the deco. maybe, it is the same island after all. But I'm hoping that t-rex is from a jp1 set with tour cars and breakable fence and restroom. That would be my dream set. Quote
cullmancreations Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 It was already confirmed that the setting of Jurrasic world will be on isla nublar the island from JP 1 so this could be the same T-Rex Quote
Leewan Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Wasn't the T-Rex from JP1 more green/grey-ish ? Quote
arc Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Wasn't the T-Rex from JP1 more green/grey-ish ? nope, it was pretty close to the lego one above. I believe the rexes from 2 and 3 were more greenish. You can trust me, I've only seen jurassic park 15 times or so. Quote
Borador Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 nope, it was pretty close to the lego one above. I believe the rexes from 2 and 3 were more greenish. You can trust me, I've only seen jurassic park 15 times or so. That's the right color scheme, but it's a bit light. The Rex in the film was a darker shade of brown than this. The middle orange color should be the lightest, reddish brown should be the middle, and then dark brown where it currently is, I think would look better. I don't know about the Lost World, but at least in III, the Rex was very green/gray. It was actually one of my favorite designs for the T-Rex, shame they killed him so quickly. Spinosaurus was okay, but truly, the coolest dinosaur in that film was Carnataurus. Quote
Venkefedo Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Neat! I missed out on all but the smallest little dino in the 2012 Dino theme; shame there are no triceratops in evidence, so far, but I'm thrilled to see so many raptors, and the Rexes look wonderful. Let's get some herbivores in the mix! Quote
Sir Walter Maugham Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Let's get some herbivores in the mix! Agreed. A stegosaurus would be cool. But the one I really want is a brachiosaurus. (I don't know anything about Jurassic Park, they do exist in the movies, right?) Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 These dinosaurs look amazing! I am totally going to have to get at least one set with a raptor. Quote

I don't remember there being a carnataurus in jp3, if you mean the red dino at the spino "droppings" that was a ceratosaurus. If that's what you mean, I'm totally with you. Really wish he got more screen time. Agreed. A stegosaurus would be cool. But the one I really want is a brachiosaurus. (I don't know anything about Jurassic Park, they do exist in the movies, right?) sure did. In 1 and 3. Although not in 2, there was one similar to the brachiosaurus in that movie.my jurassic park nerdyness is going crazy. Sorry. Quote

He was truly the best part of the film. Edited November 18, 2014 by Borador Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 We've been asked by TLG to refrain from sharing or hosting images of the new dinosaurs that have leaked. Apparently it is causing some woes between TLG and the licensee. PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY OF THESE PICTURES. Thank you. I'll let you guys know when we have post-able pictures or you can contact me with any questions. Quote
just2good Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Thanks for the heads up CorneliusMurdock. I did my part and privated my video. I understand pictures this early could be a bad thing. Quote
Dragonlego27 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) Interesting that my guesses about the D-Rex's spines and larger jaw turned out to be true, so far it appears to have elevated itself into my second favourite Lego big-figure of all time (bar Smaug of course.) I'm astounded by the amount of raptors we're getting, this means that either the battlepack idea, with 2-3 raptors is actually a reality (though judging by the set list, I doubt it), or that we are getting a raptor in each set. Unfortunately, I'm slightly frustrated by the underside on two of the raptor's head's doesn't match the body, although they still look amazing and that some of the dinos look a bit too bright and colourful for movie adaptions, although the beautiful D-Rex is excepted from this. The T-Rex is perhaps one of my least favourite dino, although it's eyes are brilliant. The balance is restored by the D-Rex's eyes, which are a bit too plain and bright for me, although that is it's only downside. If these are the only dinosaurs to be released in the set's, it seems like quite a plain wave. I'm hoping we'll get a pterosaur, triceratops, mosasaurus and ankylosaurus in this wave on top of the dinosaurs we are already getting, plus a Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus and Ceratosaurus in the second wave based on the original trilogy. ChrisLikesDinos Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 That doesn't surprise me. Indominus Rex wasn't even supposed to be known about in concept before the film, let alone seen. At least we have only seen the stylized version. Quote
Dragonlego27 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Am I the only one who thinks the D-Rex molds would be great for a Giganontosaurus and some parts of a Spinosaurus? I quite like the ceolyphisis, it's a cute little Dino, but really wish it's colourscheme had been a bit less bright. Quote
ToaDraco Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 The dinos look awesome! I really look forward to getting these JP sets, Isadly missed out on most of the dino sets from the past. I MUST have a t-rex though! Too bad they are usually in the most expensive sets. Quote
SMC Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I'm slightly frustrated by the underside on two of the raptor's head's doesn't match the body, I think the raptors with the head and body color mix don't look good at all I quite like the ceolyphisis, it's a cute little Dino, but really wish it's colourscheme had been a bit less bright. I was hoping that JW would use the same molds as the dino line but with darker more realistic colors looks like they have gone the other way and makes me a bit worried for the film. So 5 sets 1 D-Rex 1 T-Rex 1 ceolyphisis and 4 Raptors, what were the price points again? That could be all the dinos we are getting? Ok found the prices Just2good gave from the NZ ones $19.99 - A Raptor you would hope $39.99 - $49.99 - $69.99 - T-Rex $119.99 - D-Rex (for sure) Quote
mrbean Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) I wish the colours of these dinos were more realistic, they seem too bright to me. I much prefer the dinos from 2012. Edited November 19, 2014 by mrbean Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 As a kid I remember thinking the original JP toy line had brighter colors than the dinos in the movie. LEGO's take on the new ones remind me of those old toys in that way. Quote

LEGO's take on the new ones remind me of those old toys in that way. I've seen those, the Kenner ones? They have a certain appeal, but are really dated. LEGO's really does bring those to mind. First thing I thought when I saw them. Quote
