deskp Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I dont know how much cost licensed sets compares to other in Norway, but in Czech republic we can feel license fee.Great example is Star Wars or exclusive sets on S@H . Well star wars has the star wars fee. Quote
BrickTamland Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Excited for the Jurassic World workers, Dr Wu especially, but not impessed by a reused Star-Lord face if that does happen to be the case. Quote
djmangunz Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Wow, I wasn't expecting to be impressed with this line, but the tower and compound looks awesome! The vehicles look underwhelming but all will be forgiven if we get that monorail from the trailer or a heavy duty truck like from the first movie. I actually like the idea of lego reusing Starlord's face. It seems like the type of tounge in cheek thing lego would do. With the Hobbit line finished and Avengers sets coming out in March it looks like Jurasic World will be my replacement line. This makes me want to watch Jurassic Park now. Quote
strangely Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) He could have a new reverse head. Tony Stark did that I believe. So it may not be completely old. Hair looks oddly smoother than the actual piece, but that's probably due to it being a render rather than the actual thing. I do like the overall look they've gone for, giving us a confined park space seems like a pretty good idea, the fences are vital after all. Hopefully they give us the gate and few of the tourist attractions, I would love a monorail/roller coaster type ride included. A visitors center of any kind would be awesome (Old or new version, though a new version would need to include the Hammond statue). Edited December 21, 2014 by strangely Quote
legofanatic12 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) First semi-set images via Hoth Bricks on Flickr! I think the image looks great, and it seems that we are getting tons of cool builds--plus the best thing ever: a mosquito covered in tree sap! Looks like that guy with the cowboy hat could be possible to be Dr. Alan Grant and the one with a blue hat could be Hamada or a generic member of the ACU. Boettner Builds Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I hope its Dr. Alan Grant!!!! Quote
Pulp Detective Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Hopefully we get a variety of Dinos not just raptors and a T-rex,I mean we're getting 6 sets!!! Quote
legopiratelord Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Hopefully we get a variety of Dinos not just raptors and a T-rex,I mean we're getting 6 sets!!! Well there is a pterodactyl in this shot as well. We also saw a D-rex and a Coelophysis in the leaked molds. And a triceratops also seems likely as they still have the mold from the recent Dino theme. Quote
Ardelon Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Between the dino skeleton in the Research Institute set, the ammonite tile in CMFS13, and the mosquito in amber in this theme, this looks like a bumper year for paleontology and natural history! Quote

Well I'm hoping for a new molded Dino not just the same ones from the 2012 line only with different printing.Hopefully we get a set with mosasaurs, since he was shown in the movie trailer. Quote

That seems unlikely, as he isn't in the new movie. And in the original movie he dressed differently (Tan hat, blue shirt), so if there was a set from the first movie that minifigure wouldn't match his appearance. TheLazyChicken Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 That teaser image is getting me excited! Now I really am going to get at least 3 sets. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Gosh, I can't WAIT for this theme!!!! Jurassic Park is my most-wanted line of sets, so I'm still holding out hope for a few from the original trilogy of films. As others have mentioned, the mosquito in amber is such a great addition. Brought a huge grin to my face. Quote

Mosasaurus is way too big to be a molded one and not look silly. I mean its head is as big as the T-Rex. I don't think we'll get it, can't see it being a brickbuilt beast. Quote
KCMatze Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Do you really think they can get that mosquito in the small piece? I am worried that it's only digital... Quote

deskp Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Do you really think they can get that mosquito in the small piece? I am worried that it's only digital... The piece is bigger in real lfie than it is on that digital illustration. Quote
strangely Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 The piece is bigger in real lfie than it is on that digital illustration. Who knows, they might have actually created a smaller version. I mean I can see them making it out of scale in an illustration, but even the way it's being held isn't the same, so there is some possibility they created a new version of the mold. Which I'd be okay with as I feel the current piece is too big. I guess we'll see for sure in the coming months. Quote
adotnamedstud Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Is it just me or does Dr. Wu seem like an antagonist. Who knows. LEGO is bad with grins so it might not be a mischievous grin. But I could be wrong either way. So the mosquito must be a major key to the movie. And excuse my lack of Jurassic Park knowledge so all I can make is somewhat of a vague inference. Other than that this set looks interestingly perfect. Can't wait to see some pics. Quote
ChrisLikesDinos Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 ^ I noticed that- something tells me he does some questionable things in the film, but isn't an antagonist. Lego simplified it for a more compelling theme with the sets. -- Now that they are acknowledging it in their catalog how long til Lego puts some info on their website? Quote
SMC Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 It might be the case that the licensed does not start till 1st Jan or something, we might all of a sudden get a lot of info. Quote

I really love that pterosaur, it's colours of black and red are amazing! I think they're only showing reprints if the dinosaurs so as to not spoil the film or reveal too much about the sets. Loving the mosquito! Mosasaurus is way too big to be a molded one and not look silly. I mean its head is as big as the T-Rex. I don't think we'll get it, can't see it being a brickbuilt beast. Smaug was massive in the film (in different proportions to the mosasaur but around the same size). I believe lego will just scale it down as a molded creature, an aquatic prehistoric setting would be too good for TLC to pass up. Especially if it escapes... Edited December 23, 2014 by LuxorV Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Looks a lot like the Dino 2012 Dinosaur compound, but I love it. Can see a few cool elements like the feeding crane, and what looks like a box of feed already, which is nice to see. Also like the trans-blue sticks on the top of the fences, as they are presumably meant to mimic the electricity, which is a nice touch. I personally don't like the Helicopter, but think the Jeep itself actually looks okay, and am rather excited to see this set as a whole. Presuming that this is the largest of the sets, then if Lego are following the Dino 2012 style, we can definitely expect a couple more smaller structural pieces throughout, which is something very exciting indeed. I am interested though - if this is the largest of the sets (obviously that is a big presumption), then where is the D-Rex? Or have they just amounted a bunch of random Dinosaurs in this set? It's only, this got me thinking. What if we are seeing a JW wave in early 2015 with the T-Rex and other dinosaurs non-essential to the plot, and then a Summer/Q4 Wave with the D-Rex and other dinosaurs? Just a thought. Very excited indeed! Quote

If it escapes, then the main characters are done for considering you see them jumping in a stream that probably leads down to the water arena at some point. Quote
