Cagast Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Well I don't think they knew what characters were in what sets, or else we would have known where the kids or the lady are in. I mean that Owen is obviously with his bike, so maybe they got it from that info. Why didn't we get good descriptions by the way? Yeah, maybe he appeared in different variations and they didn't recognize him. I doubt the MAIN character is in only one set. Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 The news about the video game is excellent, since every other licensed games meant sets, so I'm positive we'll get some older sets now! Quote
deskp Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 The news about the video game is excellent, since every other licensed games meant sets, so I'm positive we'll get some older sets now! well youre not comapring the situations tho. POTC had sets for new and old movies at once same time as the game. lotr had sets then game. jurassic park trilogy has no sets. and theres a full wave of jurassic world sets. It does not make much sense to release old trilogy sets after the game. it would be for 2016 if any, to me it seems very unlikely. It would just be more sets with dinosaurs. Jurassic world sets already seems enough. As for a lego ideas set. who knows. Quote

Our only chance to get some original trilogy stuff is the preorder promo for the video game and the Ideas set. Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Are some of the sets not even getting structures then? Quote
MarvinM Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 New superbowl trailer for JW! We get a better look at some of these dinosaurs and well, just watch and view all its glory! Makes one want to get all raptors now!!!! Also, really hope we get some images from their sets soon, this is getting really hyped-up! Quote
Robert8 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 New superbowl trailer for JW! Awesome! Thanks! Are they still at the island at 0:46? Quote
MarvinM Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Are they still at the island at 0:46? I am pretty sure its still the island (looks a lot like parts of the park shown in the first trailer and images from the JW website) Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Sets not trailers please. This is a discussion on the LEGO toys mmkay? Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Looking at the Superbowl Trailer, it seems as if the Indominus Rex enclosure plays host the start 15-20 minutes of the film, when the Rex escapes. It has the gate, a large open space, walls, and then the tower, which I feel Lego have tried to replicate in the large set, and is something which I like more and more as I analyse that official image further. It feels as if they've seen it, and gone 'Right, we like that Enclosure, but how do we make it more interesting?" and the resulting effect is the really cool big structure we've seen, with things like a crane and feeding system added on. Already that set is a definite buy for me. Also, looking at the trailer, at one point we see an exterior view of the pen, with a 4x4 Style tracking vehicle with exposed back that looks very similar to the silhouettes which were kindly shared on page 23. This gets me very excited - LEGO seem to be being faithful to the key components and vehicles of the film, whilst adding their own spin to them, which is great! Couple of questions to get some discussion going here: Do you guys see anything else in the trailer that you believe matches up to the set names? Do you guys think we will see Jurassic Park sets next year, and if so, what? Loving this topic so far guys - thanks to everyone for getting involved and contributing in it to make a fun place to discuss these sets! So excited! Quote
Pulp Detective Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 It's bummer that we didn't got an Mosasaurus set.But I'm excited about the Dilophosaurus set, expect the D-rex he(or she) is the only other new dino mold. Quote
Cy_Bored1337 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Man do those people on the video even know CGI isn't finished -_- Edited February 2, 2015 by Cy_Bored1337 Quote
Elrond Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Is it just me or has Nuremburg Toyfair been really quiet thus far? Not many Lego pictures at all in my opinion and no Jurassic World. Makes me wonder if Lego actually had the sets on display. Edit: Scratch that, I actually found something on Twitter. https://pbs.twimg.co...E8DFj.jpg:large (Had to link it since the site doesn't allow me to post the image here for some reason.) Seems someone made sillouhettes from the JW sets. Not sure if they are real but it seems pretty spot on with the Ultra Dino set. It has I.rex, large base, four minifigs. Raptor Rampage comes with 3 minifigs, a motor cycle and a truck as well as the raptors Blue and Charlie. Pteranodon Capture has a tower and a heli as well as the Pteranodon itself. T.rex Tracker has a rex and 4 minifigs but I think something is missing, something like a vehicle considering the price tag. Dilophosaurus ambush with 2 minifigs, a jeep and a new Dilo mold that looks like the old Coelophysis mold with crests on it basically. Could be missing something considering the price tag. Maybe some piece of jungle scenery or something. Raptor Escape comes with Delta and Alpha(? I thought the last raptor was named Echo?) Probably misses things from the set as well considering the price tag. Now again, these could be fake and could explain why the raptors name is wrong, why things appear to missing from a set considering their high price tags and why the Dilo mold looks like a old Coelo one with a crest slapped on but I thought I should post it anyway since it could be real. Nice! Looks like I was right and the vehicle Owen is standing on in the promo pic is a classic JP Jeep with JW colours. Now I'm just wondering why they're using old Jeeps when they have more modern vehicles at their disposal. Also, it's still unclear if this will be in the movie but it looks pretty darn cool. Quote
Bbrink1996 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Do you guys see anything else in the trailer that you believe matches up to the set names? If you look at the trailer at 0:19 I think that is the raptor enclosure and it seems to match with the Raptor Rampage set. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B75lReaIEAE8DFj.jpg:large It has 2 Raptors, a motor cycle for Chris Pratt's character if he is in the set and also the truck seems to match up with the truck seen on the left at 0:19 in the trailer. Other than that the I.rex enclosure seems to match up with the Ultra Dino set. Quote

Indeed it does - quite excited for the big set now! Do you guys reckon we will see structures in any other sets? Quote

I think we might have some smaller builds used as scenery but the line will porbably focus more on the vehicles (and the dinosaurs obviously), much like in the Dino theme. There will definitely be another somewhat big vehicle in the T-rex Tracker set, maybe the Mercedes or the armoured vehicle (fingers crossed for the latter). Quote

Good shout, Elrond. :) Either would be rather cool - would love the Mercedes. I am not sure about the Armoured Vehicle - haven't seen it in any filming pictures yet! Actually, I could see the T-Rex Tracker being the T-Rex, a Mercedes, and then the Helicopter with the Minigun. Quote
MarvinM Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Great examination from the trailer guys! I have been meaning to ask/mention that in the official jurassic world website they have a guide for all the species (all seen together as silhouettes in the size comparison chart) and all creatures seen as of right now are mentioned on it. Obviously no D-rex but that seems obvious as it is not released to the park yet (treating it as a real amusement park) but, here's the thing. There is no mentioning of a dilophosaurus there are other dinos in the chart currently not shown in the trailers but they are mentioned/shown on that site. Once again, there is no record in the animal database of the dilophosaurus (ofcourse I know they were present at the park before and this is the same island but all other dinos are present old and new. So here is what I think (if lego didn't place the dilophosaurus without checking the creatures that might appear in the park) that maybe it could be based on the old movie which would be cool cause that means we might get sets from the original trilogy but if not maybe the dilophosaurus will make an appearance but I am still wondering of it's absence in the jurassicworld.com database of the island animals. You guys decide I guess. Edited February 3, 2015 by MarvinM Quote

I meant the bigger armored vehicle, my mistake. You can see it briefly in the new super bowl trailer at 00:19 (right side of the screen). I'm not sure it will play a big part in this movie though. Also, I noticed the classic Jeep will appear in JW, maybe that's the one we'll get in the dilophosaurus set... but then I wonder why it appears in the JW blue and gray colour scheme on the promo pic. Maybe the dilophosaurus still roam free in that area but aren't part of the dinos showcased in the park. Also, the JW database seems incomplete, the raptors aren't mentioned in it either. Ooh, didn't know about the quarantine, but okay I guess that could be it. Also noticed that, but maybe it's just in the egg database (choose the creature you want) cause when you check out the size chart (can be accessed from clicking any of the provided creatures) the velociraptor is shown as well. Just letting you know But okay, if the Jeep is the blue one then I guess you might be more correct. Just kinda curious that's all Edited February 3, 2015 by MarvinM Quote
azog15 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I really want to like the Owen minifig but i really hate those arms. Wish they would have stopped right above the elbow. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Oh the bigger armoured vehicle - would be nice to get an official LEGO armoured vehicle!! I reckon that Dilophosaurus set could include the traditional JP Jeep, as that blue one could easily appear in another set? What other figures does everyone want to see? :) Quote

I reckon that Dilophosaurus set could include the traditional JP Jeep, as that blue one could easily appear in another set? What other figures does everyone want to see? :) That's a possibility but it would be a bit disappointing to get the same vehicle model twice. Maybe it's a different vehicle after all, or maybe they changed the colour for the promo pic. Now that you mention the minifigs, I just realised there doesn't seem to be a lot of main characters in the new movie. Judging from the trailers, we just have Chris Pratt, the two kids, the new park manager and maybe that Patel guy. I'm glad we'll get Henry Wu though and (most likely) a few of those ACU guards. I also wonder who the guy in the cowboy hat is (he's maneuvering the crane on the promo pic). If they expand the theme and start making sets based on the first 3 movies, I'd really love to see Grant, Malcolm and Muldoon... well the whole cast really but especially those 3 characters. Quote

Here’s a first look at the LEGO Owen MiniFigure from #JurassicWorld, in theaters June 12. Thank you LEGO! Everything is awesome!!!
