Dragonlego27 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 The Dilophosaurus looks insane! I never thought it would be so big! The other sets look interesting too. Quote
Mandate Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Oh dear... the Dilophosaurs are adults in this movie? RIP everyone. These sets look amazing! Quote
Captain Nemo Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Say wha?! Those sets are amazing!!! I knew I was going to buy the HQ for the D-Rex alone, but the build is just spectacular! And the Gyro-pods are amazing! The T-Rex transport is just huge--I don't feel like we'd see that in the movie, but it looks great as a set! And even the little jeep has an amazing design. It really recalls the classic Jurassic Park jeeps but with the modern colors. The one downside is the Dilophosaurus--I think it looks cool, but it is for sure way, way too big! If they were going to make a new head variant for a raptor to use for the Dilophosaurus, why not just make a new mold of a tiny version instead? One of it's main features of emphasis in the first movie was how tiny it was--well that and the poison. Quote
Bbrink1996 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) I'm fangasming so hard over that Dilophosaurus. :O (Not weird at all. :p) Instant buy for me, that's for sure. I actually thought the Dilo would be using a modified Coelo mold but i'm happy it's not. Edited February 14, 2015 by Bbrink1996 Quote

Tom Jurassic Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Pterandon Capture -Love how the design for this Helicopter is actually very, very fluent - a nice set, and one which, for supposedly £20, is definitely worth a couple of purchases! Dilophosaurus Ambush - The Jurassic World Jeep here looks very nice, and will be even nicer once those flickfires are gone. The Dino is nice - not sure how accurate it is, but still quite nice, and the inclusion of Gray with a Gyrosphere is nice too. Raptor Rampage - This one was already previewed and is fantastic - very excited for it. Indominus Rex Breakout - For the largest build of the lot, I think this is fantastic. A very nice looking enclosure with lots of nice features packed in, a phenomenal looking dinosaur, and a nice selection if figures. The compound itself looks fantastic. Loving the Minifigure selection too. All in all, very good. Love how we army build ACU troops across the sets too. T Rex Tracker - This is actually the one I am least keen on - there are some nice figures included, and the T-Rex is nice, but the vehicle looks kinda clunky. Apart from that, these sets are fantastic. Notice how two Raptors are missing from the overall sets, as is the sixth set? This will either be revealed soon as a store exclusive, or could be part of a second wave! Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I'm pretty disappointed. The sets feel very <insert that tiresome argument> and look pretty ugly. The helicopter in the Indominus Breakout looks bad, the T-Rex vehicle gives me bad flashbacks to the Triceratops vehicle from last Dino line. The jeep looks okayish, but the top looks meh. The Dilophosaurus looks cool, but all in all this is a theme I'll skip on. The expensive prices is just icing on the cake. Quote
Dragonlego27 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Love the gyrospheres! Not sure about the bright blue colour scheme of the vehicles and buildings though. Quote
strangely Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 It all looks pretty good. The real problem is that I'm thinking how much more I'd rather have stuff from the original movie over this... But it all looks so good, so I'll pick up a few of the sets. Quote
Dragonlego27 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Even newer pictures now. The pterosaur set looks pretty solid, although the tower us absent from the box art. I love the poses the I-Rex and T-Rex are in, almost like they're going to attack eachother (although they're not in the same set. the cowboy guy in the motorcycle fleeing from the T-Rex is pure gold. Only the exclusive raptor set is missing now. Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 These actually look fantastic to me, and I'm so glad the Dilophosaurus uses new moulds. So where does the leaked Coelophysis come from? Though I must say, in terms of real-world size (I'm a palaeontologist with a passion for dinosaurs so I'm probably overthinking this), I think the Dilophosaurus is a little on the large side (I think the Coelophysis mould was the perfect size for it as it too large for a Coelophysis), but if the size is accurate to the film, I'm all for it. Although it's not actually a real dinosaur, I really like the Indominus Rex also. Oh, what the hey, I love them all. TLG take my money now! Quote
DraikNova Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Not liking the color of the vehicles, but the dinos are so bright and vibrant that I can't help wanting to pick them up, no matter the inaccuracies. And the generic pterosaur is nice too. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I'm one hundred percent sold on the Dilophosaurus. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Does anyone know why the I. Rex is dragging it's tail like it's Godzilla or a pre-1970's paleontological reconstruction? Quote
Bbrink1996 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 No tower but it does have a good looking helicopter. Also, I really hope we also get Raptor Escape set pictures today since right now that is the only one we're missing right now. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Could someone tell me which shade of Blue this is, using LDD terms? I want to start designing some enclosures for the other Dinos when I get them. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I think it's just the basic shade of blue, the kind featured in classic LEGO buckets. Quote
Dragonlego27 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 The dinos are definitely the highlights of this wave (but hey, did anyone think any ddifferent?) I'm just slightly worried about the bright colours of the sets, especially the buildings, which don't look like their film counterparts. I wonder how large the Dilophosaurus is compared to the T-Rex and I-Rex? Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I think it's just the basic shade of blue, the kind featured in classic LEGO buckets. Thanks Nova. :) Here's hoping the Escape set is another structure. Quote
djmangunz Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 After reflecting on the negative reaction from the image of the raptor set released yesterday I feel that Lego made a mistake by showing the (IMO) weakest set first. Because looking at the rest of the line I can't help but be very impressed by the quality of the sets. The jeep, larger helicopter, and t-Rex tracker are awesome and far more impressive than I was expecting. And the Dino's are outstanding! I have to say that the t-Rex is my favorite. I am surprised that Chris Pratt only appears in one set. I wonder if this means he is killed off? Quote
Mandate Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I wonder if this means he is killed off? Pretty much well everyone appears only once in this entire wave. Or in other words, everyone dies Quote
