MarvinM Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 You may be right about that. How many minifigures are missing from the silhouettes? None, and all are exact to their sets. Unfortunately, there is no mention of figures in the Raptor set, but considering the T-rex tracker was missing the vehicle, I wouldn't be surprised if it still had some... it makes me think maybe it will have another Owen tho. Maybe it will be more like his training arena (tower to view down at the ring) Quote
LuxorV Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Will the white ind rex be very useful being white? It's a sweet fig and all, but for repurposing? Who knows. I hope this movie is as awesome as the trailer. When we saw the first pics, someone suggested using it in winter/snow scenes. That would be quite cool (no pun intended), but, personally, I'd prefer it in an 'earth' colour like most of the other dinos are... Quote
MarvinM Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) The indominus Rex is a combination of dinos as stated on the official Jurassic Word website. The pale skin is mainly for the base color which can change. Probably getting the camouflage technique from the Carnotaurs (if any of you read the books, in the Lost World, the Carnotaurs can change color almost as good as a cuttlefish.) If any color changing creature is brought down to its true colors it will appear white. Actually, more translucent since the color is made by light, but layered, it appears white. I am sure the indominus Rex will change it's color but retain the white as its base. To me, Lego did good giving us a complete white version of it. Edited February 26, 2015 by MarvinM Quote
SMC Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 And did you know it is believed that pterodactyls didn't make any sound when they went to the toilet unlike dinosaurs? Because the "p" is silent. Quote
Bornin1980something Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I wish the indominus Rex had wings. It already looks pretty cool, but it would be cooler if it could fly! Even if the Indominus rex had wings, it would not be able to fly because of its sheer size. No flying creature was even come close to that size. Every time something doubles in size, its weight increases by a factor of eight! Also, I think the arguments over what is and is not a dinosaur is rendered moot by the Indominus rex, as it uses DNA from several non-dinosaur animals. Its monster like aggression, 'killing for sport,' is nothing new to the franchise. Much as the original dinosaurs were supposed to be like animals rather than monsters, the book had this to say about velociraptors: "They were instinctive hunters, and they never passed up prey. They killed even when they weren't hungry. They killed for pleasure of killing.(Michael Crichton, Jurassic Park, 1990. Emphasis mine)" If anything, the original movie actually toned down the monsterous aspects. Now they are back with a vengeance. ^ Herbivores are interpreted as dangerous in the movies. They're not really present in the first one, but The Lost World had a stegosaurus that almost killed the main characters. Also the pachycephalosaurus and triceratops most likely killed the hunters during their breakout. I just recently watched the second movie. There are more herbivores than in the first, and they show more realistic animallike aggression. However, all the confirmed deaths are still at the hands of carnivores. That said, the herbivores certainly caused a lot of destruction when released into the camp. My personal highlight, however, was probably the pachycephalosaurus (thick headed lizard) head-butting a cruel hunter! That species is underrepresented across dinosaur toy lines. I have been doing some further searches on Bricklink. I found that many of the 'Dinosaur Island' dinosaurs, from 2000, are actually going quite cheaply. I have ordered a stegosaurus. By the way, VictorFrenchFries are you also a fan of Highway to Heaven, the show from which Jurassic Park stole its theme tune! I hope that this time, they don't make all of the characters seem like idiots. But then again, I doubt they'll do that, since adding remote-activateable collars filled with anesthetics, which would be the logical approach, would make it very short movie. The whole making-a-new-dinosaur-out-of-bits-and-pieces-of-others-thing also kind of spoils that possibility. In the book, they try to put some sort of control or tracking collars on the raptors, and they promptly chew the collars off! Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Because the "p" is silent. That is funny. Thank you for the humor in the midst of all the "What Constitutes A Dinosaur" discussion. I have no idea about all the different types of Dinosaurs Extinct Dragon-Like Creatures, I am just a fan of Chris Pratt. Does anyone have any idea if there will be more waves after this? I really just want the Pratt fig and a few dinos (or whatever they are scientifically classified as), but the Raptor set is a bit pricy... Quote

We still have the Raptor Rampage set coming, which might or might not come with Owen. And since the game is coming out there is a small chance maybe we get another wave or so (Didn't the Indiana Jones Waves do this, or even the Harry Potter/pirates of the C. Waves? (Only one movie, movie sets come out, followed by prequel sets)) Quote

The "Pachy" would be cool if we ever get more Jurassic Park sets. Are we? Quote

Dragonlego27 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Does anyone else worry about some of the sets colour scheme? The bright blue of the buildings and vehicles really puts me off, especially as we haven't seen much of that in the trailer and pictures (apart from some of the vehicles) As it is, I'll probably get the I-Rex and Dilophosaurus set, as I don't think you get much in the T-Rex set, the Raptor Rampage is overpriced and the pterosaur is not enough to encourage me to buy it. I'd also like.a second wave, merely so I could have a Spinosaurus to fight the Indominous. Quote

I personally don't mind them too much - I kinda feel like it gives the vehicles and buildings a nice Uniform feel to them. Plus, it isn't too present on the I-Rex Pen, which is nice, as there the colors look quite nice and not too bland or bright. I think, like with many building products, they will look a lot nicer in person. On the subject of which - what are we all hoping to see within the 'Raptor Escape' set? Obviously it has to include our other two Raptors to complete the set (Unless there is going to be a second wave of sets), but what beyond that do we hope to see? I'd like a small to medium style Enclosure structure so that we have more than one enclosure for potential Park MOCs, and maybe the 6x6 or some over vehicle to pursue the escaping Raptors. Thoughts? DraikNova Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I'd like to see the small Coelophysis recolor. What's the point of it being made if it's not being used? Quote

SMC Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 ^ But where, we think the missing set has 2 raptors. We could well get polybags but don't think it will be in one of them. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 ^ But where, we think the missing set has 2 raptors. We could well get polybags but don't think it will be in one of them. It is possible that the missing set has 2 Raptors and a Coelophysis. Quote
SMC Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 ^ Very unlikey as its cheaper than the other 2 raptor set and doesn't seem to fit what we have seen it the past. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I'd like to see the small Coelophysis recolor. What's the point of it being made if it's not being used? I wonder if it could be a promo set of some type or something... Quote
SMC Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Yeah is there any way there is a small set we dont know about. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Yeah is there any way there is a small set we dont know about. Not unless it is a second retail exclusive sadly. It is possible it could be in the Raptor set, but like you mentioned, it is unlikely, unless the set has little building element to it at all. I wonder - is it possible that we are getting a Second Wave of Jurassic World sets, in the Winter wave, and this was simply leaked early from those? It is entirely possible... Quote
DraikNova Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 A polybag could feature it. The size is just right. Quote
SMC Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 ^ It is but an exclusive dino in a poly seems very unlikey too. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 ^ It is but an exclusive dino in a poly seems very unlikey too. I agree. More likely to see Owen or a main character in a Poly. You may be right with your theory on JP sets - they'd have had to design JP Vehicles and other assets for the game anyway, so it would require very little effort, and LEGO now from the Ideas project that people want it! Quote
azog Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I do not think they would have that much in a promo set because the hobbit poly bag for the second movie is very small, I do not even think that they would have one dinosaur. Quote
