Simon_S Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 Love it Simon!! The walls on both floors are raaly unique and so great looking! Thanks mate . I don't think it looks good. Probably a personal preference thing, though. I tend to not like the techniques using unlikely or oddball pieces to simulate mundane stuff like architecture or paths or whatever. I always think it looks too busy and distracting. I'm not surprised a builder as skilled as you can make sure it all holds together though! Thank you for the feedback. It's clear that not everybody likes this style, I'm also not 100% convinced by it. But I wanted to start making my builds more unique and this was one possible way that came in my head . Quote
Stanley KuBRICK Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) Not a big fan of the colours but it works! I like the general shape, particulary the roof, of course, but also the timber framing: nothing seems really straight and everything is a little curvy. And the armor wall is very original. Never seen that! Edited August 5, 2014 by Stanley KuBRICK Quote

I just meant it as an excuse to talk shop about building techniques and aesthetics. We don't do that enough around here! Edited August 5, 2014 by mccoyed Quote

We should do that more often. Also, I think techniques aren't as important as aesthetics. I rather want a build that pleases my eyes, than one with some nice techniques in it. It doesn't even need a single part SNOT in it, as long as it looks good . Quote
soccerkid6 Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I'm really impressed that you got the lime green to look good in a landscape outside of a swamp setting As I said on Flickr the armor walls are really creative and fit well with the building being a blacksmith's shop. Great woodwork as well Quote

Great woodwork as well Thank you Soccerkid ! I'm surely not the first one who used it, but it's still quite unusual compared to what we see every day. Quote

Bacon Potatoes Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 The entire post is just great. Just can't seem to figure out how you made that amazing wall! Quote
Maxim I Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 First of all: WOW to your colourscheme! It looks strange but nice at the same moment :p Second of all: WOW to your steel wall! Must have been a real pain in the megablocks to construct it :D And third of all: WOW for the MOC itself :) Quote
