Emjajoas Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 "I'm no astronomer. I've no idea what these mean," Mortimer mutters, glancing around the party and offering them the book. "What'd you find, Karie?" Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 "From what little I know, constellations such as these are used to help people identify points in the sky and use those points as landmarks for navigation. It's possible the regret is familiarizing himself with these constellations for when he embarks on his mission of global destruction, since getting lost while traveling from location to location would likely slow his progress considerably." Jeaux touches one of the glowing lamps to see if he can determine what was used to construct them. Quote

"What'd you find, Karie?" "Some diary. Apparently Seerus has a wife. And he's abusive towards her." Karie pockets the book. "Perhaps the astrological signs correspond to something? We haven't really tried opening the door in the main hall." Quote
Emjajoas Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 "Seerus' abused wife?" Mortimer shrugs. "Sounds like Iris has been having a rough time. I feel worse about not killing her." Quote
The_Customizer Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 "I didn't realize they could have wives, I mean, I always just thought they just produced the Oculoids from the lifespark, though Seerus isn't really an oculoid, is he? Perhaps, we could find his wife, if he abuses her, we can use that to get her to join us..." Quote
Kintobor Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) "I don't see the need for them to have relationships, seeing how they're produced on a production line." Karie crosses her arms, "Don't ask how I know that, it's a long story." Perhaps, we could find his wife, if he abuses her, we can use that to get her to join us..." "If we're assuming Iris is in fact Seerus's wife, than why would we even bother? It's an Oculoid, and every Oculoid I've met has been nothing but manipulative and malicious, ignorant and insolent, as if they were some "Master Race". We kill her, and her husband. We're here to kill the damn Oculoids. Kill them and ensure that no one else has to suffer from their own hypocrisy." Karie bluntly replies to Erdathcath. Edited September 6, 2014 by Kintobor Quote
Endgame Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 "I get the *wheeze* nasty feeling she's not his wife in the traditional sense. Emjajoas Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 "Poor little Iris is caught between a rock and a hard place," mutters Mortimer with a grin. Glancing around, he questions the party. "Is there more to find here, or should we move on?" Quote
Endgame Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 "North or East, your pick. I'm pretty curious about what that clanging is, to be honest but... I'm just the rookie here." Quote
Zepher Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Boomingham chuckles at Karie's declaration. "Kill them all. No mercy." He winks. "Be careful, Karie, or I may start liking you well enough again." He follows behind Mortimer. OoC: A reminder: weekends of the school year are usually extremely busy for me (for example I was on set yesterday from 3 PM to 3 AM) so if I'm ever holding anything up, Em is in charge!) Quote

Bricksandparts Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Johon remains silent mostly, just examining the library. "Before we leave, lets just look at what types of books are here. Who knows, they could help us." He proclaims, looking at the titles of the various books. Quote

Endgame Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) Johon remains silent mostly, just examining the library. "Before we leave, lets just look at what types of books are here. Who knows, they could help us." He proclaims, looking at the titles of the various books. "The Zodiac: Its Importance" "The Zodiac is a Myth" "Is Our Sun The Center of the Universe?" "The Universe Is Infinite, And Here's Why" "The Death of a Sun" "Olegaia's Moon" Most of them almost seemed like textbooks - it seems like the oculoids were merely categorizing information they had found. "From what little I know, constellations such as these are used to help people identify points in the sky and use those points as landmarks for navigation. It's possible the regret is familiarizing himself with these constellations for when he embarks on his mission of global destruction, since getting lost while traveling from location to location would likely slow his progress considerably." Jeaux touches one of the glowing lamps to see if he can determine what was used to construct them. The lamps emitted a soft coldness, apparently some sort of odd luminous rock encased in glass. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The party exits the library and crosses the hall, the clanging growing louder. The party can hear human grunts, until, walking into the room... Not one Masson, but... Two? "They're practically identical..." "Could it really be...?" The two purple clad men turned to the heroes, both of them identical in almost every way. "I'm glad to see you, I never though I-" The Masson who was speaking had to raise his sword to parry a strike, the other Masson trying to hit him. "Don't listen to him! He's an imposter!" "You're the one who ambushed me when I was trying to escape!" "Don't believe him, heroes, ma cherie. He's trying to decieve you." Their bout ceases for a moment. What would the party do? Kintobor Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Karie was ecstatic at the possibility that her husband was alright and potentially in front of her. Emjajoas Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Grinning slightly to himself, Mortimer focuses on the blue-toned Masson. "Both of you step back a few paces," he commands them, drawing his bow, the grin disappearing from his face. "Let's have a little test, shall we?" Quote
