"Me? Flirting around? Why would I be doing that?" She responds. "Besides, I don't expect you to understand what it feels like to be madly and intensely in love."

"...Yeah. Let's move."

[Endgame]

"Make me." She says lustfully.

Masson gives a slight scowl before responding.

"Fine! Fine. I know every part of your brain is just screaming to put that dress on. If you really must, have some modesty and do it someplace private, please."

"Generally, listening to the Regret is always a bad idea," Mortimer spits. "Can you not remedy it?"

"I doubt The Regret would put such an easily circumvented potion in our path. This is stronger than any hex or chemical I've seen."

With a quick glare at Johon, Boomingham steps behind Em. "Lead on. Onwards and upwards. But next time I'm not leaving the room when a ghost tells me to. Didn't even explain who he was indebted to."

"He seemed to just want to gloat," Mortimer shrugs, sour. "I assume, though, the ghost was indebted to his mother for mistakenly bringing him into the world."

[Endgame]

"i think I learned the source of it... His friend's family was being held hostage, his friend being our tour guide. It seems The Regret is not above using the living to bully the dead."

Jeaux watched as Karie threw herself at Masson. Whatever this love potion had done, it was certainly not a beneficial effect. Perhaps only some emotions could improve a person's power while others made them incapable of achieving anything. Whatever the case, the regret seemed to have a very strong understanding of the concept. Jeaux checked his belongings and made ready to follow the party leader onward.

[Endgame]

The party continues onwards, arriving at a junction.

Masson cradles his head a bit, before speaking.

"I... I have memories of this place, from one I was brainwashed. They gave me bits and pieces of the layout of the Citadel, the upper half, where I was going to patrol if and when I defeated you, and... Here, let me just draw it out."

Masson takes the map scraps from earlier and begins to draw on them.

"The bottom Purple Dot is where we are now, and the top purple dot is the observation deck right before The Regret's inner sanctum. The red path is the left, and the blue path the right... Either way, we're going to have to ascend part of the tower, walk across a connecting bridge, and cut through the Upper Citadel. After that... Well, we're there. We'd be at the top.

If memory serve - and this will influence our decision - the tower the Red Path takes us to holds Seerus's Gallery, while the Blue Path takes us to Iris's former residence. Before you guys... Well, killed her...

We should all weigh in on this choice. We're nearing the top, and that's where this onslaught ends."

"Well, we have already killed Iris, do you feel like we should just move through her residence? Would make things significantly easier, hopefully."

"That sounds like the best course of action to me as well."

[Endgame]

"Seerus is smart. He may be in either one, or neither of them, maybe even both. Who knows...?"

[Zepher]

"It is my understanding that Seerus will die when we kill the Regret. I don't want that, though. I want him to die on his own, knowing that we've come for him because of what he's done, not that he's dying because we've killed his master. I say we go through his quarters, see if we can't say hello. What do you say, Masson? Want to go find him?"

[Endgame]

"I want the quickest route to The Regret. And, honestly, Seerus hanging around Iris's domain would seem pretty typical of him. I vote we head to his gallery, see what we can find in there, and forge onwards.

I hate The Regret far more than Seerus... Because Seerus is just another puppet. Ultimately, it was The Regret who brainwashed me, and did this to Karie..."

He uses one hand to signal to Karie's contorted, gasping body, his other arm stuck in her lustful grip.

[Zepher]

"It was Seerus who captured you. He did that, even if he likes to say he's only an extension of his master. I'd like to have a word with him and tell him how much I didn't appreciate it."

[Endgame]

"Because you want the honor of dueling with me, am I right? And he might've made that bout impossible?"

[Zepher]

"You know, for someone who seems so determined to move on from his past you bring that duel up quite a lot." Boomingham cocks an eyebrow. "I said I wanted to go after Seerus. Remember, it was me who's spot you took in that tablet, so the oogly boogly inky chap owes me a duel as well. Maybe it's got nothing to do with you. I think he's a baddie and that he makes excuses for it, and I want him to know he's dying because I don't buy those excuses. If I just kill the Regret, he'll think I believed all that crap he said about being a puppet."

[Endgame]

"...I have a lot in my future right now, Boomingham. A wife, a child, a familly. I just can't allow The Regret, you, or anyone else to tear me away from my family. Perhaps I'm being overly cautous, but here? You need to be."

Masson gives a reluctant nod.

"Very well. And I make the same promise to you - all of you."

"Masson, why don't you reciprocate my feelings for you? Is something wrong? All I want to do is have a little fun, just me and you, but you keep pushing me away... why? I want it, Masson.... I need it..." Karie says, clinging to Masson closer, the look of longing and lust beginning to intensify.

Mortimer grinds his teeth, obviously conflicted. "I want to kill Seerus. He needs to die by my hands. I'm going left. I won't lose this chance. If he's not in his chambers, I'll double back into Iris' and hunt the worm down there."
