Kintobor Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Karie, making sure she could be of the most help possible, looks about, noticing Alice's hand. "Does it hurt still? I can take a look at your hand if you want." Quote
The_Customizer Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 "I believe Johon is right, rearranging the cylinders should work." Quote
Zepher Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Boomingham eyes the pieces cautiously and stands near the door. "I'm more of a poet than a technician," he says with a shrug towards Johon. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) "Boys, move the stuff off the desk and onto the floor. I'm going to try and buy us some time in case we screw up. Alice, give me a hand and help me move it to the door. Jeaux! Do you got any gems we could use!" "I doubt any of my gems would be useful in this scenario. They are far too likely to weaken the structural integrity of the door and ease his ability to enter." OOC: Just to confirm, this is the current layout correct? Bricksandparts Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Johon uses a nostrum and smelling salts, before laying out his magical supplies for the party to borrow (Scrolls, gems, wands, etc. PL can divide how they see fit). "These are more use to you all than to me." Johon says, preparing for battle. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 OoC: It looks like that's the model I meant, however it will not on my browser, so here is a picture in case Endgame can't see the Mecabricks one, assuming it's the same. Again, too lazy to resize http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/bricksandparts/special/HEROICA-RPG/Quests/Participated-Quests/Quest105/heartbreaker.1.png Johon adds the Artifacts he isn't using to the stash. "Just make sure you get this stuff back to me at the end of this madness, assuming we survive..." Quote
Endgame Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) "That... That might just work!" The sound of Monolith still tearing down the walls behind them, the party excitdly assembles the impressive lance: Well-Crafted Heartbreaker: A heavy lance tipped with a sharpened diamond blade, and loaded with a specially made explosive. Using it on Monoliths pierces their ribcage and then blasts it to smithereens, exposing its pulsating heart. Due to the party not improperly forcing the pieces together too many times, it also deals an additional 500 damage to Monolith's heart. After using it on a Monolith, however, the explosion ruins the weapon... Masson heaves up the lance, holding it with both hands. Even then, Karie can tell even he was struggling with the weight, despite his years of physical labor.Shal "Shall we go confront the beast, then?" With the drill causing the wall to rupture, the party rushes out with the new lance in hand to confront the rampaging Monolith. "Here to strike me down, you little-" It was then when the warmachine spotted the lance Masson was gripping, his knuckles white from holding the weighty weapon. He speaks with a caged madness. "...No no. That... That will not do. You think you'll just beat me so easily, as you did my younger brother, heroes? I think not. Full disclosure here, heroes, I'm interested in stacking the deck in my favor. So... I think I'll stage a tactical retreat for now, until i'm in a more optimal position." Before the party can react, the Warmachine flees the scene, surprisingly fast. "Coward... Lets follow him!" Indeed, the Monolith Mk Ii's heavy feet tore up the concrete floors, the party easily tracking him down through the winding corridors of the oculoid factory. To their sides were vats upon vats of Oculoid ink, enriched by the Lifespark... And above them was the steel conduits carrying their plasm flesh, oculoids being assembled above their head and delivered throughout the citadel for programming. The party uses the machines tracks to navigate the labryinthine factory, leading them to a large door. The door's label: "Amphitheater." "Prepare yourselves for battle. If he's "stacking the deck", I can hardly imagine what lies beyond here. Either way... When we dispose of the Mk II, all that is left is The Regret himself. So... You guys ready...?" Will the party prepare for the imminent battle? Edited November 20, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Emjajoas Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Mortimer sighs. "I am ready. Let us kill him when everyone else is." Quote
Endgame Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 "We have the... Heartbreaker, we should be perfectly fine, yes..." The paragon was actively struggling to hold the lance, or so it seemed. "...You okay, Mr. Cour...?" "Yes, I spent 3 years of my life hauling animal carcasses at the butcher shop during my teenage years, I can carry this.. thing... Hrrng." Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 OoC: Can someone divide the items I'm offering to the party please? "Time to put a stop to this lunacy." Johon says, preparing for the fight. "I have a plan to stack the decks in our favor as well. If we were to use some smoke bombs, we could cloud his vision, hopefully giving us a chance to dodge his attacks. It's hard to miss him, but it'll be much more difficult the other way around." Quote
Endgame Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 "With the height difference and Mk II's shield.. I'm not sure how we can actually reach and pierce that ribcage..." Quote
Kintobor Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 "I don't need any of your items." Karie replies bluntly, jogging on the spot and rolling her head. "We'll figure something out. We've been through worse than this. Jeaux, Em, are you two ready for this? Lawrence? The rest of you?" Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 OOC: I'll just take some items for now. If anyone wants me to give an item up, just say so. Jeaux looks at the items layed out by Johon and picks up some of the items for the battle ahead: Aquamarine, Emerald, Garnet, Opal, Scroll of Sleep, Scroll of Blindness, Scroll of Sealing, Scroll of Confusion, Scroll of Frailty, Scroll of Weakening, and Bravado Boots He then takes off his Spellbound gloves to put on the Bravado Boots Quote
The_Customizer Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 "I believe we would be best taking a Smellings Salts, it will help us no doubt." Erdathcath consumes a Smelling Salts prepping herself for the battle. Quote
Zepher Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Boomingham nods to Karie. "I've got your back, girl. We'll make it through this monster." He turns to Em. "Ready whenever you are. And we keep an eye on Punii, got it?" With a glance down at the little progg: "You stay near me at all times, chap." Quote
Endgame Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 "Uh... Okay, *wheeze* Boomingham. Do you really think he'll be that tough?" Quote
Emjajoas Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 "Let us press on, then." Mortimer orders, shield raised and ready. Quote
Zepher Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Boomingham grins. "He'll be a walk in the park. But you stay by me anyway." Quote
Endgame Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) Ther party, their resolve as steeled as it possibly could be, throw open the large doors. A cold rush of wind welcomes them, as they step in from the oppressive and lifeless halls of the Oculoid factory into the gargantuan room... The party expected an amphitheater, but not one brimming with Oculoids. Hundreds, possibly even thousands, of Oculoids were crammed into the sides of the arena, all staring down the Heroes with devilish glares, or talking to their comrades about the bloodshed that was sure to ensue. In the center of the arena stood the Monolith MK II, his size dwarfing everything else in the room. He looked at the heroes with a similar, dire gaze, but still he stood nonchalantly, perhaps thinking his victory was ineveitable. Flanking the sides of the rooms were massive mobs of Oculoids, struggling to get a good view of the main event. Above it all, hovering above the announcer's podium, was none other than Oculoid Mastermind Seerus. "I told you I'd stack the deck, heroes." Monolith Mk II's voice is drowned out by Seerus's. Interestingly, he only had 4 tentacles - and all of them were still wounded in some way. "Well, well, WELL, look who decided to show up! We were almost afraid that the Monolith would go without opposition... Buit it looks like you dredged up enough nerve from gods-knows-where to come and face your executioner. Yes, the old Monolith had a few bugs... But we made a few changes, you see. One, two, a dozen!" The audience erupts into a twisted cheer: "MON-OH-LITH! MON-OH-LITH!" "We took the old model - a reluctant killer - and turned him into a perfect living warmachine, the perfect murderer! So, heores, are you going to run and hide and wait for The Regret to kill you? Or will you accept your fate with dignity?" QM Note: I'll give you folks a couple of hours to RP before I start the battle! Edited November 23, 2014 by Endgame Quote

The_Customizer Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Erdathcath yawns, looking around at the boring scene before her, "That's all? This is your 'big' reveal Monolith? Just let me know where the spikes are at and we can proceed to drop them on you." Quote
Endgame Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 "You've been desensitized, it seems. Shame. I guess having to kill poor, innocent Monolith made the last of humanity in that wooden of carcass snap, didn't it? I'm sure the crowd would welcome you with open arms if you decided to spectate. After all... Ever since you killed my little brother, you've been just like an Oculoid." Quote
