"Regret, you fool. Do you not see you are losing?"

[Emjajoas]

Mortimer shrugs, regarding the powerful being with his only good eye. "I've no qualms being covered in filth, rotting under it all. Rock bottom is a solid platform on which to stand. And fight, apparently."

[Zepher]

"These words all mean sort of diddly squat. The fact is that we're having a walk in the park. Maybe that was your trouble, Regret. You sure talk a lot - Hel, that's all you've done since we got here - but I don't see you do much of anything." Boomingham attacks the Tail with his Frozen Sabre from the back row.

[Endgame]

"That is very much true. But sometimes pacifism, in any form, can be the most powerful action of all... Would you agree?"

[Zepher]

"No, and most pacifists don't have slave armies."

[Endgame]

"Touche."

[Zepher]

Boomingham winks at his foe.

[Endgame]

The Regret chuckles.

"I wish I could go back to the days when I could be nonchalant. Unfortunately, the reason behind my - perfectionist attitude, lets call it - are locked up within the redhead's mind."

The Regret's tail goes down to Karie and brushes some hair from her face, revealing her purple, mind controlled irises.

"And if I had my way, her pretty little head would stay under my control forever."

Masson fumes. His face tells a story of steely determination and rage, pointing his blade at The Regret.

"If you value that tail - your last limb! - I would advise moving it away from my wife."

"Don't like other people playing with your toys I see, Cour."

Karie feels herself taking backseat as the familiar sensation of being controlled by someone else takes over; someone she preferred didn't even touch her.

She allows the Regret to brush the hair away from her eyes, burning a deep violet, her voice now dead serious and losing any and all sense of charm.

"It would be more than an honour to serve as your Devil, Master; it would be salvation from those insufferable traitors and imbeciles who stand before me. Do they not see how pointless this all is? How they will lose this fight, Master?"

[Endgame]

Masson loses his composure, but chooses to avert his eyes and try to avoid the judgment of his wife instead of showing just how frightened he was. He musters up some nerve and speaks.

"I came here to protect you. I failed."

"Just what I like to hear. You'll do your part in their destruction, I trust, soon-to-be deviless?"

"She's not dead yet, Stealer. And I like the idea of cutting off his tail." His eyes stay locked on the Regret. "For all the looking down you do to us humans you sure seem bent on crushing us. It'd be like if I taunted ants before stepping on them, and then went and told everyone I knew that I'd accomplished it."

[Endgame]

"I do like emotional manipulation, Boomingham, and you need words to accomplish that. Just take a look at the druid - because of me, she's been eaten alive by her own hatred and rage. So I have succeeded on some of you. Mortimer, Johon... They're going down the same path as well."

[Kintobor]

Masson loses his composure, but chooses to avert his eyes and try to avoid the judgment of his wife instead of showing just how frightened he was. He musters up some nerve and speaks.

She shows a hint of enjoyment out of seeing Masson's weakened state.

"Of course, Master. I shall do whatever it takes to wipe these cockroaches from the face of existence."

"That's exactly the reason, Paladin." Karie sneers, raising a finger and pointing it at Boomingham cockily. "The Regret is crushing the ants at his feet and gloating because he has more power than you shall ever comprehend. What you say is hypocritical, as well as meaningless in the face of my Master."

[Zepher]

Boomingham responds to the Regret. "I think gloating to the things you view as ants is a little pathetic. I think this whole thing is honestly a whole lot of pathetic. I usually like to let people know why they deserve to be put down at my hands, but you are a unique chap in that I don't think you've even earned that."

[Endgame]

"I do not blame any human for wanting to strike me down. I blame them when they think they're being righteous in trying to end my life. I can hardly blame you for feeling that desire, but I can blame you for your lack of comprehension."

She shows a hint of enjoyment out of seeing Masson's weakened state.

"...Karie. You snapped me out of The Regret's control before. Are you willing to leave it all for him? Your friends in the Syndicate, your comrades here? Our child? Me?"

[Zepher]

"Well, chappo, I've got to be honest with you and say I think you might be the one with a lack of comprehension."

[Endgame]

"That is very much true. You must know what state your world is in. You must. Your career involves alleviating the pain and sickness in this world - supposedly, anyway. You've seen all ins imaginable being committed. Probably even committed more than a few yourself. You know the world is flawed, imperfect; and in this Progg's opinion, rotten to the core. So how do you go on? Living in a world not only imperfect, but getting worse and worse by the second as you humans grow and breed as a species. I understand so much about humanity - thus why I was able to bring ten thousand hunters here from across the world - but I cannot understand how you walk this world without being driven to the same means I have."

[Kintobor]

Boomingham responds to the Regret. "I think gloating to the things you view as ants is a little pathetic. I think this whole thing is honestly a whole lot of pathetic. I usually like to let people know why they deserve to be put down at my hands, but you are a unique chap in that I don't think you've even earned that."

"Shall I tell why you need to be put down, you overzealous, pompous, pigheaded oaf?"

"...Karie. You snapped me out of The Regret's control before. Are you willing to leave it all for him? Your friends in the Syndicate, your comrades here? Our child? Me?"

She continues to smirk at Masson, seemingly enjoying the torment, until it turns into a look of confusion, slowly morphing into resolve.

"Curious. I can remember those people. Vividly. Very vividly. I... I don't need them, not while they continue to pollute this planet." She seemed a little unsure of herself.

[Endgame]

"I know I need you. But maybe you don't need me as much, and I can understand that. Sometimes I wonder if I'm too attached. But our child? What has he or she done to pollute the world?"

Boomingham shrugs. "Maybe I've committed a few sins. No genocides, though. And we continue to walk this earth to put down oogly booglies like you. There's a god by the name of pseudos who has this little idea that we strong should protect the weak. So, you know, not murder them. Course, when the weak, like you for example, end up trying to murder the strong... well, what are they supposed to do?" Boomingham drags his finger across his neck, closes his eyes, and sticks out his tongue.

You take my actions, and look at it from your own, comfy version where you are right. It's not like you bend the will of people that try to help others, right? You are such a hypocritical, pompous, bigoted, ignorant, arrogant, genocidal, maniacal, megablocks!

Karie nods her head in disagreement, her usual playfulness missing, replaced by bitterness.

"Then what do you have to say about the love poison and your attempt to bend my mind? I specifically told you to give me sadness. Instead you decided to give me love as a means to manipulate me, Johon. People who live in glass windows shouldn't throw stones."

He shouts back. "I never claimed to be perfect, but that thing, monster, or whatever you want to call him, doesn't care about anyone but himself. This whole righteous megablocks is to cover up his actions. Make himself feel better. He's just a bully, and you're letting him control you!"
