LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Magnificent builds, they look so good! Love that 365 GTB. Can't wait to see what else you'll have to add Quote
ER0L Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) What a great car! Thank you! AWESOME 'ER0L'........tyres rub eh ? (but don't they burn rubber anyway ) Maybe you need to make a custom Crockett and Tubbs ? Brick On Drive On 'ER0L' ! Thanks LT. Yeah, as I said, wheels don't spin properly. But since this type of car isn't meant to move on the LCS it might be acceptable. Sure, there will be a Crockett and Tubbs - as said, it's quite difficult to find the right minifigure parts. Ideas welcome. Really nice collection! Thanks a lot Gabor! They are all quite beautiful and spot on. As a fan of Mad Max, your interceptor is the END ALL Minifig scale interceptors. Awesome job on all of them. Thanks a lot. Glad you like the Interceptor that much! Magnificent builds, they look so good! Love that 365 GTB. Can't wait to see what else you'll have to add Thank you very much! Well, there's always something in the pipeline ... Thanks all for viewing and commenting! To be continued. ER0L Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 #7 Ferrari 308 GTS (Magnum, P.I. edition) Another Ferrari. In fact this is a 6w+ revamp of an older 7w+ model. The car is quite low and fits well into the "Larger City Scale" range. Stickers and hubcaps are taken from the LaFerrari Speed Champions set. The MOC is 100% Lego. Credit to legoeini for the frontend. Some more pics: Comparison with the Speed Champions LaFerrari: I quite like the Speed Champions, especially technique-wise, but they are much more massive and tall than I had thought - they just don't fit into any known scale. Those large wheels - and probably the mudguards, too - can't be used on minifig scale passenger or even sports cars - anyway they seem to be suitable for trucks or buses, it's always nice to have more possibilities. What's nice about those great new hubcaps is that - with a little customizing - they can be used on smaller wheels, too (like on the 308): Thanks for looking! Quote

tuskel Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Cool! The thumbnail pics don't actually look like Lego at all! Must have taken you ages! Anyway... What is behind the tile design, if I may ask? tuskel, sincerely Quote
ER0L Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Cool! The thumbnail pics don't actually look like Lego at all! Must have taken you ages! Anyway... What is behind the tile design, if I may ask? Thank you, glad you like them! The tiles on the Charger's sides cover the holes caused by hinged structures which allow an unusual angle (at least regarding Lego cars) of the hood. A similar effect is the "tile behind the curved slope" on the Ferrari 308 which not only mimics the air intake but also provides the typical slight wedge shape of the vehicle's sides. ER0L Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 Update of the Mustang: It was just a test how the new Speed Champions hubcaps in combination with the newer Town tires (like on the 308) would look here, but since quite a few people on Flickr seem to like it I thought I should share it with you, too. Anyhow I guess it shows the effect a tiny detail like a hubcap can have on the realism of a small Lego car - I'm very thankful for the nice parts car builders are getting from TLG recently. Quote

SearchFunction Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Wish I had time to properly comment on all these cars. The lower part of the front bumper - the brick used for the corner - I always finds gives too much of a truck look, but here it looks just right. I suppose it has something to do with the fact, that its further back than the upper parts of the front. Interesting. Quote

BimmerBoy Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I love these, especially the Magnum P.I. Ferrari and the Charger. I got all the Speed Champions sets, and while there are some flaws, I love those cars and they have left me wanting more. You builds have whetted my appetite. The Charger in orange would be great for a Dukes Of Hazard General Lee. Quote
