MKJoshA Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 See the previous tales: Wyndor's Saga: Chapter 1 -What Has Past- Chapter 2 Part 10: A New Home Part 10.1:Blunted Edges Part 10.2: Cramped Spaces Part 10.3: Enthusiastic Worker Part 11.0 Part 11: Mysterious Death It was nearing the end of Summer in Dalig Ulv which meant that the light frost that came in the mornings started to stay longer in the areas that got less sunlight than others. Mitgardians were used to seeing snow 80% of year. The town watch of Dalig Ulv stayed well covered when they were on shift. This was a particularly cold evening and it was just beginning. So when the guard was told to take a break for an hour and was slipped a few coins. He didn't ask any questions. He wouldn't have needed to ask questions anyway since this wasn't the first time that Lief had bribed him to give him a few uninterrupted hours in the watchtower by himself. Lief waited till the guard was on his way back to the city wall before settling in to wait for his visitor. He didn't have to wait long until the hooded woman hoisted herself up into the tower. "I grow tired of waiting!" said Lief through his teeth. "Patience sir. The time has almost come. Each day we draw closer to unleashing the Tri-Council on Mitgardia" answered the woman. "You are starting to get sloppy" said Lief. "Pjeter and Wyndor found some of your handiwork near Treacleheim." "Do not worry yourselves with our business" replied the woman. "Continue to supply us with gold and the items we request, and we will take care of the rest. You will not have to worry about anyone else standing in your way for much longer." Quote
Scaevola Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Nice tower, especially the roof and snow. I'm not fond of how the bottom section juts out however, but good work overall. Quote
Yzalirk Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) Nice use if the mixels joints! I agree it's a clever way way to use them but they jut out a bit much but it could be fixed by making them longer. I also can't seem to find them on BrickLink. Nice tower, especially the roof and snow. I'm not fond of how the bottom section juts out however, but good work overall. I agree. The tower is awesome looking but it seems a bit odd how the supports next to the legs jut out. Perhaps next time name them a bit longer or move them in closer? Edited August 4, 2014 by Behemoth Quote
LordDan Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Wow that roof design really caught my eye! It looks great! One thing though, there is no entrance for someone climbing the ladder. The minifig would have to slide in over the wall. Quote
Gunman Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Beautiful phase 2 moc MK ! Only tip I would give you is regarding the X-logs. I would prefer them between the main columns of the tower. Quote
mccoyed Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I would get rid of the crossed beams, like most have said, but otherwise this is a very clean and beautiful design. I can never decide whether I like the cleaner, less busy designs or the ones with tons of random weird pieces that make interesting details! This is definitely a solid entry into the former category. soccerkid6 Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Excellent wooden tower and a good build for Phase 2 I like the crossed support beams, but the would look better if they fit in flush with the tower Quote
MKJoshA Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 Yes, I wish I could have gotten the beams flush with the tower also. I tried a couple different ways but could come up with a solution. Maybe someone else will come along and improve on the idea Wow that roof design really caught my eye! It looks great! One thing though, there is no entrance for someone climbing the ladder. The minifig would have to slide in over the wall. Well, the idea was that each person had to slide over the wall... I didn't want a gapping hole in the wall of the tower, makes it seem less defensable. Quote
Bregir Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I like the snowy details on the roof and I think the base turned out great. However, what I enjoy the most is how you are using a story to tie all these builds together. Great job! Quote
