WesternOutlaw Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 I thought I would try my hand at building a small WW MOC. This is the Earp Brothers and Doc Holliday, in Tombstone, as they make their way toward the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Quote
Brick Miner Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 that waiter torso works surprisingly well for a western fig... BTW, what font are you using ??? i like it a lot. - BrickMiner Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted June 10, 2007 Author Posted June 10, 2007 Here's a raw image with a new decal (on photo paper). It looks much better. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I may add some additional sets to this collection. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted June 10, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted June 10, 2007 Ah, I remember this movie. An excellent Western! You MOC has the atmosphere as I felt when while watching the movie. But the end was a bit unhappy, wasn't it? I have to see the movie again. Anyway, I like this MOC and the way you presented it! Governor Mister Phes Posted June 10, 2007 Governor Posted June 10, 2007 that waiter torso works surprisingly well for a western fig... Indeed it works, but the design looks like its a completely style to the rest. The others look like cartoonish, while the waitor torso looks more symmetrical and geometric. Quote

Let's try this instead. I think it looks better than the desert background. In regard to the waitor torso, I did this intentionally. The minifig is intended to be Doc Holliday, not a member of the Earp family. I wanted him to stand out with a different look and different face. Perhaps the style is a bit too much different, but he does at least stand out. Quote
Khorne Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I love the catchphrase, very good *y* . I like the 2nd one better than the first. Quote
Brick Miner Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 the second image looks like a movie poster, is that what it is supposed to be ??? looks awesome either way... especially the sub-title. but wait, now im confused, is this part of the "legends of the WW" collection, or the "grave stone" collection ??? - BM Quote

Yes, a movie poster based on the Tombstone image that Bonaparte shared. It is part of the Legends of the Wild West, but I do like to bridge my WW MOCs (like the Snake Oil Wagon). Perhaps we may find these four men in Grave Stone to do battle with the Phantom Rider; or perhaps this may have been what led up to the fall of Grave Stone. Something is in the air, perhaps it is you who can guess... *skull* Quote
Brick Miner Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Yes, a movie poster based on the Tombstone image that Bonaparte shared.ah, for some reason all im seeing is a red "X" so i didn't see the image that Bonaparte shared.- BM Quote
ChrisF2006 Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Hi all, I believe this is what he posted. Great movie btw. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunfight_at_the_O.K._Corral a little background for those who are unfamiliar with the story. Quote
MatthewUSA Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Very cool MOC Brickster. I definitly thought the waiter outfit looked pretty good too. I give you two *y* up. Model On. Quote
Berry Syedow Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Though I haven't seen the movie, this is a great little western MOC. You also did a nice job of selecting the faces for the three brothers. They all look like they're related. (If I'm reading this right. ;-)) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 Thanks for the feedback gentleman. You also did a nice job of selecting the faces for the three brothers. They all look like they're related. (If I'm reading this right. ;-)) Exactly. That was the look I was going for. Doc is to the left and unrelated to the brothers. Perhaps I should have added a few capes for dusters. Quote
Athos Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Very cool. I like how you did Holiday. Makes him stand apart, but still fits with the rest. The head choices are great for the Earps. They all look related. I've been trying to figure out how to make a vignette of that, but never did. Cramming 4 figures on an 8x8 plate was just too tough. Nice to see someone else did it. WesternOutlaw Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 Coming from you, that means a lot Athos. You're the vignette master! Quote
