SerenityInFire Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I'm a fan of the Black Knights because that's what I grew up with. This last Castle line was decent, but Kingdoms and Fantasy era were superior IMHO. Quote
Artifex Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 Different question, same topic: What if in a Castle revamp the Forestmen became... Elves! That seems quite a natural choice, don't you think? Personally, I'd like to see the Forestmen as humans, and Elves as, well, as Elves, like two different factions (or maybe there's this Elf that's part of the Forestmen...) Quote

It seems logical to me that LEGO would want to re-use their elf molds, and a Forestmen/elf cross is a good fit indeed. Quote

We've already gotten a lot of elves with LotR and I think they would be out of place with the forestmen. I'd rather see the forestmen with the wolfpack and dragon nights with the classic dragons (in anew color, like dark green). Quote

It'd be nice to see all those hairpieces with yellow ears (and the CMF Elf/Wolfman one in new colors as well) ...and a new stag mount to go with them! Quote
SirBlake Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) I'd be all for that. The CMF elf is fantastic. More variation on that one as it's own faction would be great. For that matter, I'd take a red boar evil knight faction and evil dragon dwarves. I guess the one left would be updated crownies based on the heroic knight, which I doubt anyone would have a problem with. Though I would prefer something new for that one. TheOrcKing Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Please bring Fantasy Era back, with new prints for the trolls, so a more random troll army could be made. I would like to see Lego bring back their classic orcs and trolls to the scene as well. The ones from the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit sets are great but I do miss the more classic look the Fantasy ones had. They shared the look of being a little evil yet somewhat goofy which to me made them more endearing than the current orcs of Tolkien. Also the unique helmet of the Fantasy era orcs were awesome deserving the opportunity to be used once more and perhaps in a variety of usable colors. Edited August 23, 2014 by TheOrcKing Quote

Im game and I love classic forestmen/wolf pack factions. Hopefully Lego can make some great new fantasy castle crossover theme with medieval monsters. Dragon, griffin, sea monster, maybe a cockatrice or chimera or a giant bird like the Roc. Quote
Artanis I Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I stuck my CMF elf straight in with the forestmen a few years ago, I think it's just too obvious. Rehash forestmen with elves, TLG. Thanks. And bring back cute orcs. Thanks. Quote
SerenityInFire Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I dunno about the cute orcs. I much prefer LotR's orcs because they're mean. Quote
dgherko Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 As long as each faction has a king and the factions do not remind us of the Kings Kingdom Easter Egg factions, I think we would all like that. Having set 6085 and 6086 I patiently await the Black monarch to rule my castle. Quote
Venkefedo Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I dunno about the cute orcs. I much prefer LotR's orcs because they're mean. They're a little too mean for regular Castle tho... The Fantasy trolls/orcs look surly, but in a way that they can easily be turned into protagonists if you so choose, especially if they had some more expressions. "Troll Towns" like The_Cook and others have made show off the potential to expand them nicely. The greenies are basically like Warcraft orcs: serious-looking folk who may actually be good people. While I'm mostly planning to use them as baddies in my builds, I also plan to work in some less-aggressive moments for them. Quote

Mencot Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Has there been any news that TLG will do a new Castle theme next year? Ofcourse it is a bit early to say yet that there won´t be one but it will probably be on the second half of 2015. Bring back fantasy era with forest men and elves that would be nice. Also about a D2C, I don´t know if I would care too much about one if it is based on the current Castle lines theme.... but if it was a civilian set like MMV, then that would be a different story Quote
Hive Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Has there been any news that TLG will do a new Castle theme next year? Well, there is this: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99478 Quote
Massinissa Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Well, there is this: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=99478 Sorry to burst your bubble but its been revealed Elves is a girls theme. Theyre like fairies but not called that. Theyre going to be minidolls like in Friends. Quote
Admiral Khan Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I think it would be nice if we got a new kind of castle theme. Every castle theme since the Knight's Kingdom has just been a Lion or "Crowns" theme; I think it would be nice if got something else. I am a fan of the fantasy era medieval market village and the mill village raid, but there needs to be more "village" type sets. Some ideas of mine for kingdoms- 1. Bear 2. Falcon 3. Griffin 4. Stag We always get lion knights, and it would be nice to see other types of torsos and sets that expand the castle universe to an updated Griffin knight army etc. I also would like a updated forestman sub-theme. Dr.Cogg Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 what about a new version of Fright Knights with a vampire version of Night Lord, Zombie knights, a new Willa the Witch and Undead Dragons VS Heroic Knights (not the Jellybeans) and Angry Villagers. Quote
Mahtion Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 So what now? Will there be no castle theme in 2015 since we would have heard about it like other new sets. Quote
Blakstone Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 That appears to be the case, Mahtion. 2015 is Pirates year instead. Quote
TeufelHund Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 So what now? Will there be no castle theme in 2015 since we would have heard about it like other new sets. Castle is normally released in the later half of the year, so there's every chance some info will turn up early next year. I doubt that TLG won't release something (if only a UCS set) as LOTOR has already wrapped up, the Hobbit will be finishing soon and the current Castle range will be 2 years old by then without being refreshed. Ardelon Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I agree that there will most likely be something but a new castle line wont be seen before 2016+ Why would you think that? I think TeufelHund is spot-on, Castle will be a summer theme, so we still have several months before we hear of anything. If anything, this year is the year without Castle, since all weve seen are battle packs (and Juniors sets). So next year Castle should be back in full force, moreso since the LotR/Hobbit license is winding down. And Pirates alone wont fill the gap. Quote
Robert8 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I would like a Castle line based on King Arthur's legend. With Merlin and Morgana le Fay the line would have that magical side that I loved in Fantasy Era. And they could individualize the Knights of the Round Table by giving them a unique crest for each, something that I liked A LOT in Knights' Kingdom II The minifigures could be King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Merlin, Morgana le Fay, the Lady of the Lake, the Knights of the Round Table: Lancelot, Gawain, Galahad, etc. Quote
