She had moved in with him to the house he had grown up in and it had taken her some time to grow used to the place. But now that they had lived there for a number of years and had started their family there she felt more at home in this house than in the one she had grown up in. Valanice was busy telling Brenda stories about Olivia’s antics when she had first been able to walk and had gotten lost amongst the grasslands of Avalonia when they heard someone yelling… (I've been trying to expand my ability to build textured stone walls. Let me know what you think) Quote
Scaevola Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Nice work, the stonework and door are very good, as is the roofing. The tudor-style is a bit gappy, but is nonetheless pulled off fairly well Quote
Gunman Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Sweet clean overall design. Lovely house MK :) Quote
Yzalirk Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Nice house but where's the rest of the foliage? Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Nice! The texturing is pretty good and the roof is coll! Quote
Hammerhand Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Nice job MK, it looks really good! On the stone wall, my only suggestion would be to maybe reverse the amount of dark and light greys. I find that doing more light grey than dark grey tends to looks a bit better for some reason. But other than that, your texturing is really nice! Quote
markus1984 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Nice work! The house looks good but i think the roof is a bit to clean but the rest ist absolut ok!! markus Quote
soccerkid6 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 The stone texturing looks pretty good, try not to do every other plate in different colors very often to avoid a striped look. The wood section of the house is pretty good too, I think some brown 1x1 bricks at the corners would look good and complete the wooden framework nicely I like the roof, if you wanted to make it a little less clean, you could add a few leaves. Your builds keep getting better Quote
de Gothia Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I agree with SK, some brown corners and some brown plates between the tan bricks would add much to the tudor feeling. The stone work on the first floor is really nice! This build reminds me of SK´s early builds! =) The wooden roof was often used by him! Quote
mccoyed Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Great little house. I agree with some of the CC others have said, especially with landscaping and the overall cleanness of the build. Quote
mrcp6d Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I think the brick portion looks great, almost like it was actually built with bricks + a few stones thrown in here and there. Quote
MKJoshA Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Nice work, the stonework and door are very good, as is the roofing. The tudor-style is a bit gappy, but is nonetheless pulled off fairly well Thanks! This was my first attempt at tudor style so I know there is much room for improvement. Thanks for the positive feedback! Nice job MK, it looks really good! On the stone wall, my only suggestion would be to maybe reverse the amount of dark and light greys. I'm trying to establish dk-bley as a foundational color for Mitgardian buildings so I don't think I'll switch that. I'll just have to do a better job of making it that much more sensational! I shall have to continue my tutelage under SK... or at least by learning from his builds Quote
Maxim I Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 You are really becoming better and better in MOC'ing!! Very nice stonework! Quote
