Emjajoas Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) The Duke stands, his frown directed at the party, though a glimmer of hope in his eye. "Very well then. Start, Wilton." He takes a hold of his wife's hand, escorting her out of her son's bedroom. Once alone with the heroes, Wilton raises his staff into the air. He hums a deep, throbbing tune, the heroes feeling the melody pulse at their temples. The tone rises and falls, getting louder and louder each time it fell. It echoed inside the heroes' heads, their eyesight blurring, spinning, churning, swooping towards the Prince. Darkness. The heroes feel like they're floating-- no, falling-- deep into a shadowy abyss. They grasp for purchase, rasp for help, gasp for air, before-- Feeling whole again. Perhaps it was dark because they closed their eyes? Each one peels their eyes open, glancing around the strange space they found themselves in. It resembled a small, hilly clearing, but everything was... different. The colours were off, slightly. Just enough to notice. The sky was more of a purple than a blue. The clouds seemed dark, though no rain fell. The sun itself was black as night, but still manage to give off enough light to see. This was the world of dreams. A mirror image of the real world. Master Vandagant, you're just under the Archer's threshold to take less Damage; I suggest you try to one-shot it. The world was, indeed, odd. It seemed springtime; flowers bloomed and trees blossomed. Birds sung in the air, butterflies fluttered about without a care in the world. But everything was off. Odd. It was a dream, but it was trying hard to become reality. Everything seemed real. Everything felt real. But it was off, it was odd, and it couldn't be real. It could never be real. A faint hissing echoes through the clearing. The party looks around, unsure of its origin-- glancing at their feet, it seemed as though the deceased dream warriors were fading into the air, dissolving, leaving behind no trace of their existance-- Save a (rather poorly drawn) map. It seemed as though the party had a few routes to choose from. They were currently in the only large clearing notated on the map; From there, they could find and follow the path directly to the castle, or explore the world a little on their way. The Spire Ruins, the Forlorn Forest, some sort of "Dangerous Camp," and another Clearing seemed to be their optional destinations. The Castle and its entryway were also clearly noted. Where did the Party wish to go? The Castle? The Ruins? The Forlorn Forest? The other clearing? The Dangerous Camp? Edited August 15, 2014 by Emjajoas Quote
