Robert_88 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 This thread is just...I'm trying to find a better word than ridiculous but I can't. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 ^ I agree, nokialover31 originally asked us for our opinions, then when we give them, it seems like we are told our opinions are wrong. I'm not saying nokialover's opinion is wrong, I just think it has become absurd the way he crams his opinion down our throat. Quote
Robert_88 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I hope this didn't sound rude! Somehow I like the old sets too but I just can't understand why somebody buys a set and then sells it again because he found out it's not the first version! Quote
Robianco Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I'd say the OP was well aware of his intentions at the start of the thread and, if anything, the title was a little provocative... I'll still give him the benefit of the doubt on this as English obviously isn't his first language. As a discussion topic it's all seemed rather pointless as he knows exactly what he wants and why he wants it... which is fair enough. If anything I'm confused by the motive behind it... Just buy the sets... build the hangar... take the photos... display it. Everyone wins. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 All right, enough is enough. We heard you, nokialover, you like older sets; there's no need for you to attempt to emphasize it by going off-topic. The purpose of this topic was to discuss which X-wing was the best, not to promote any of your sales, not to list random photos of sets, not to announce WIPs you're building, and not to bash or insult each other (and this applies to all of you, of course). nokialover31 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 OK, let's remain in topic, you are right. Does Anyone prefer 7140 x-wing like I do? Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 ^ Hahaha, I'm sorry, that's the funniest response I've seen in a long time here. Quote
Lord-Vorahk Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Congratulations, Robianco, on the most beautiful response in thread history. Quote

nokialover31 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 I can't understand this image, what is it? I see it's a LEGO head, but can't understand what else Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I can't understand this image, what is it? I see it's a LEGO head, but can't understand what else It's an emoticon for ¨facepalm¨. Quote
nokialover31 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 It's an emoticon for ¨facepalm¨. What does that emoticon mean?! Quote
TWP Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) I don't know how to explain that properly, but it basically means you've been explained something and make the same mistake again. It's usually an emoticon someone uses if he thinks someone cannot possibly be that stupid. Sounds harsh, I know lind whisperer even included a link in his post with the explanation, even more, sorry, don't take it personally. Edited August 19, 2014 by TWP Quote
Robianco Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I just want to see the hangar design now with each of the ships in place. I hope the OP is able to put something together that he's genuinely proud of. Like any hobby I think it's important to do something you like rather than something you hope someone else will like. Even if there was nobody else in this thread who liked 7140 (but there are plenty of people who do) then you shouldn't take that as any reason not to build the hangar with your choice of X-Wing in there. TheBear Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Personally I think the first Lego X-Wing is the best. I'm talking of course about set 6824. Quote
rexusprime Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Personally I think the first Lego X-Wing is the best. I'm talking of course about set 6824. How could we forget about 6824?! Of course one the best X-Wings. Probably the most detailed X-Wing of all time. I like how accurate the colours are. So nokialover31, TheBear just proven that your 7140 set isn't the original X-Wing. I'm quessing you have to sell it now. Quote
nokialover31 Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 In my opinion, for a real collector, very first X-wing (7140) should be a must. Then, do what you want. But explain why, please. Quote
Lobot Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Could we possibly let this thread go? nokialover31, whilst I appreciate that you're obviously very passionate about a particular set it doesn't mean that everyone else has to be! We're all entitled to our own opinion and, amongst this knowledgeable community, they're all going to be equally valid Quote
Tronedor Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 10240 Red Five X-wing Starfighter is the best looking one by a long shot, not even a discussion about it in my mind Quote

Nom Carver Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I respect your opinion. Thanks for sharing it. Anyone else? Now you have become a wiser man (?) than yesterday , I personally like the latest one better but I do like the old blocky and sturdy feeling of ancient times, but those times are long gone. Quote
