The negative version of 'Lucky Lego Finds', what set(s) do you regret not buying?

Personally, I wish I'd purchased Diagon Alley- it looked a great set and all that stopped me was thinking that it was immature for a seventeen-year-old to buy lego...... I've now learnt, at nineteen, there is nothing wrong with it... Too little too late, though.... :sceptic:

MF 10179 .... Had it in my hands, had the money and just said there is more important things in life ... Which is true ... :cry_sad:

All the original batman sets. Have two face escape and Tumbler. Through both boxes out to make room :( But man I wish I could have gotten the bat tank or scare crows bi plane

Missed the UCS star destroyer cause I didn't have that much income back then, and was busy with wrapping up college. I also should have gotten a second 41999, now I have one but don't know whether I should build it since its selling for so much, with 2 I could build one and use the other one for parts or resell or whatever in the future.

I also missed the mars rover since it was released and sold out while I was on vacation.

My regret is actually that when I came out of my dark age and started collecting again, I did so in a very haphazard way, just buying random stuff just because it was on special. I don't earn much money or space, and Lego is actually a somewhat low priority timewise, and I ended up using all of my time, money and space. Since then I've become a lot more focussed in what I collect, and I've been selling most of the stuff I don't actually ever use.

Last year, I found some Harry Potter Hogwarts (the last, smaller set) and Quidditch sets on clearance for around $10 US. I got the Hogwarts but not the Qudditch, thinking that my daughter only needed one. Why didn't I get both?

It was my Lego Dark age the same time the Lego 9v trains and buildings were reduced to clear in shops.

I looked at the Train shed 10027 & the Santa Fey & carriages had them in my hand & ready to buy but thought "Im probably a little bit to old to be playing with this stuff" & placed them back on the shelf.

Just recently (last year) A shop had BNISB Lego Train Double Corssover 7996 for $50 they had around 10 of them . I only bought one, as my partner was getting angry about the money i was spending in Lego. I should have bought all 10 of them biggest fail ever!

I declined the opportunity to get a MISB monorail accessory track from a tiny Toy Shop in Wales about 10 years ago, At the time I did not have a monorail, so did not see the point, it's probably still sitting there, if only I could remember where it was!

Also I guess for not picking up 4 or 5 Cafe Corners for resale, it could have funded my LEGO addiction for the next 2/3 years!

Also for not buying a few more of those Technic Cars with the Power Puller tyres, they were in the Discount Tent for £40 each at Legoland Windsor.

1. Wishing I had been born in a country that had LEGO at the time. Did not run into it until my 26 year old son was 3.

2. Wishing that my family had been able to afford some LEGO at that time.

(At least I made up for it when my son got into LEGO, and began collecting for myself six years ago. Phew!)

Not getting into LEGO sooner to grab the Super Star Destroyer while it was still available. Looking to buy one now but I'm having a hard time finding one at a reasonable price. I'm in Toronto, Canada and have around $600 to spend. Finding one within that price range that is MISB is proving difficult.

I don't know if I truly missed out on it, but once in a Goodwill Bargain Bin location I decided against looking around at everything, which I usually do. I stuck with the books and a cursory glance at a few other bins.

Anyway, I get in line and this kid gets in line behind me with a tub of LEGO, mostly minifigures and accessories. I'm pretty sure they JUST had found it and decided to leave right then from their conversation.

I wasn't too upset, given some kid got a screaming deal (and it sounded like he was paying with money he earned), so good on him. But the one time I don't go looking around before digging in, I likely missed out on a LEGO gold mine.

My biggest regret is definitely not buying the grand carousel when its available at my local toy shop. Now I remind myself not to repeat the same mistake again :cry_sad:

Missing the original Agents theme because I was too busy doing other stuff...

My biggest regret is buying 10221 the superstar destroyer. My strategy now is to leave it sealed in the box and trade it for modulars or winter village sets that I missed. I may have to wait awhile depending on values. Why did I buy 10221 in the first place? Well, it looked impressive on the store shelf.

I came too late to the modular party, missed out on everything prior to Fire Brigade.

Deciding to sell my entire collection when I entered a Dark Age. Multiple Viking sets, Early Harry potter and my childhood Castle sets.

I've since managed to get the classic Castle sets I had, but if I can give any advise NEVER sell your LEGO unless you have no choice......

My biggest regret is not getting the Grand Carousel.

my biggest regret is buying a fake Kai elemental robes Spinner from Lele

I was 5 when the Star Wars 3 sets came out and at the time I didn't care for SW. But a few years later I looked at those sets and saw the Obi-Wan vs Grievous set and was like "WHY did I not get that set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and all the prices for the set on Bricklink were like $80+. But then one day I was on BL and I found the set for $45!!!!!!!!! I ordered the set and got it in a week later. :classic: So I guess my story has a happy ending.

To name a few:

7662

7659

7190

7666

6206

Just that whenever sets like these get released, I never really take any notice until they are at sky rocket prices years after initial release, especially the 2007 MTT, and 2007 7666 Echo Base
