LegoLOTR Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 My problem is: I do not like to use two sets together...So I am limited to one set, with 5-6 colors, and limited part count. That means when I start a project, and I finally get a good idea, I have limited amount of pieces, and most of them not useful. I was only once in LEGO Store, and in PUB I just got some little pieces. I do not use Bricklink and all those sites. I do not know what to do... Quote

Blakstone Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) I have looked into Herocia and there are some good threads there with suggestions on what pieces to get if you want to get into MOCs. I remember buying a bunch of 1 x 1 clear round plates for making waterfalls. I had not opened the bag on them yet though. Alcarin, Bricklink is like a crack dealer. I look back and every month I make a purchase from there. It is too easy. The Pick a Brick on Shop.LEGO.com takes way to long for me in the United States. That portion of our orders is shipped for Europe. Edited August 20, 2014 by Blakstone Quote
mccoyed Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I tried suggesting a Space Sci-Fi story over in in the Sci-Fi thread(Although it would have more been along the lines of Heroica the RPG, with building as more of a side thing), but no one really seemed interested. I started a similar thread. The moderator there went off on his own to make... something. I wanted to do a Guilds of Historica style thing more than Heroica, but I don't think there's much demand or enough people to do it together. I don't think just one person should be responsible for the lore and stuff, so I'd like to get more people together (at least enough for a few faction leaders to plan stuff at the outset). Like with Lands of Roawia, I think such a thing could be set on another message board w/ a strong presence on Flickr. Dunno if there's enough interest, though. More importantly, what do you mean two sets together? Surely if you keep your pieces organized, you can always rebuild them with the correct pieces? Quote
LegoLOTR Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Well, I am a collector...Sometimes I even do not like to touch set after building it. I have little space for LEGOs, so if I mix them together, i will never find place and time to build all...My country does not support PayPal, and I dont like to give credit card information...I dont buy big sets too, so idk...I will probably ask my friends in other countries buy something from Bricklink and Official Stores. I am problematic, i know... Quote

I'm the opposite in temperament: I never keep a Lego build together for very long, especially purchased sets. I don't think displaying something that is essentially mass produced is all that special but that's me. I never had a collector's mindset exactly, and only feel the need to collect stuff I can use or offers some sort of direct feedback. Takes all kinds, though, so don't feel bad about your way of looking at it. Maybe you'll change your mind someday and try some MOCing. Quote
