jaredchan Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 During April and May 2014, I designed and built 4 LEGO scale models of iconic buildings on Hong Kong Island for LEGO Hong Kong Ltd. The models joined the creations by fellow Hong Kong creators to form a display of the renowned Victoria Harbour skyline at Toys'R'us flagship, Tsimshatsui, Hong Kong. If you are in town, remember to check them out! The construction periods of 8 and 11 days excluded research time, which was mostly spent on studying of blueprints, online search and site visit, was quite substantial but worthwhile. I hope you like them ;-) Quote
L@go Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Both very nice, but the HSBC building is the star of the show for me. Gorgeous! Quote
Off the wall Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Wow. What a great accomplishment! I wish I could buy these at my local lego store! Quote

robuko Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Absolutely brilliant Jared! The frogs for lions are hilarious. All you need is a few hundred domestic helpers under there for a nice Sunday scene. Quote

rollermonkey Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Fantastic! I've suggested HSBC building as a future Architecture Line set a couple times, but I know it'd never be done justice at the typical set size. Quote
Spencer_R Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Are there any pictures of the overall skyline display at TRU or the other two models mentioned? Edited August 23, 2014 by Spencer_R Quote

I've suggested HSBC building as a future Architecture Line set a couple times, but I know it'd never be done justice at the typical set size. Thanks rollermonkey! I agree, it would be very difficult to put in all the details if the size is reduced to the architecture line level... Are there any pictures of the overall skyline display at TRU or the other two models mentioned? Hi Spencer, my other 2 models will be posted later~ An overall pic is available at LEGO HK's Facebook page:http://on.fb.me/1moQqQf Quote
henrysunset Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 This is an exciting new LEGO Architecture model for a true world architecture masterwork. I've proudly featured this on my LEGO Architecture boards on Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/tomalphin/ Quote
