Jorrith Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Oh wow, just to read upon this review while i have scavenged the pet shop set for parts today! Put to some good use i guess, and some remaining, oh well. Personally i loved building the pet shop set, both houses have something that is just nice in a modular street. Totally reccomend them if you are looking into modulars. So far i have grand emporium, pet shop, and town hall. Out of all the three this one takes the cake! Quote

peter_m Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Girl with telescope from Research Institute would look nice on this small balcony :). Also if the basement was deeper (that would need serious modifications), you could create a secret chemistry lab there ;) Quote

The Astronaut can easily find a place...mainly on the roof and the Balconies,,,The chemist can hire any empty floor and make it workshop and thats it ;),,, But the scientist with Fossils must be in a museum Edited August 24, 2014 by VintageLegoEra Quote
m0dulo Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 But the scientist with Fossils must be in a museum Create an empty lot with an excavator that discovers a skeleton while digging a pit. Grab a few construction minifigs from the LEGO Movie and have them stand around while the researcher investigates. Quote

Modelmaker Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I loved this set, but i preferred the town house to the shop, mainly because i live on a street with similar houses. I liked it so much i bought a second set and built it handed (mirrored). I would love a whole street with just the houses on it. Quick pic to show the handed version of the house. Quote
TWO2SEVEN Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Great review! The GE was my first modular, I picked up the Pet Shop this weekend. I actually liked the build a little more than the GE, it was less repetitive in my opinion. I ended up adding some LED lighting to mine :) Quote
Withacee Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Nice review! We built this as well, and we loved it, especially the facades. Added advantage of this set is that, since I always build Lego sets together with my wife, one can build the pet shop, and the other can build the town house. And next time, we can switch around! Great Team...:-). My wife too likes amd loves Lego but whennit comes to build I do it and she sometimes helps me sorting colors for me. And the best thing is all my presents and gifts from here are Legooos...waooo.. Quote
Modelmaker Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 My only moan about the set is the lack of glass in the small arched windows. But i can fix that. Do Lego not make glass for this part? i know about the lattice piece but why no glass? Quote

So when it is rainy or snowing what will happen. Thanks fir mentioning this..:-) Glass does not exist for the arched windows. I added black lattice for the windows in the pet shop, but for the town house it should be white, and that color is very rare and expensive. Quote

bjorn77 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 can you please upload some photos? It's the same part used in the Parisian Restaurant. Black version is plentyful, white is very rare. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30046 Quote
