Last weekend I made a tour through my house:

I looked in my working room:

Ok, you cannot see the Black Seas Barracuda on top of the shelfes, the mini star wars sets on my monitor and the maglev train in front of the windows... 8-|

Then I went up the stairs:

had a look in my older son's room:

And finally I turned around and looked into my younger son's room:

We are getting out of space here! *sing*

Naah, just kidding - I cleaned up the whole stuff (in my childrens rooms X-D ) so we can still breathe in here.

What are your worst pics of Lego lying around everywhere?

Post them here!

Huggermugger On!

(I never heard of this word before, but I like it ;-) )

O.K.

This is how my room looked approx. one year ago, before I moved to Amsterdam and left my Lego behind in my parents house (so there's more room now for the hobby!)

When I was a kid I used to have everything lying around (like Zouave said) and had to perform some expierienced jumping to reach any part of my room...

I posted a thumbnail because it's quite a large photo, just click and it will enlarge

A few weeks ago, Daniel and I had a lot of chaos in our flat! The whole living room was full of Lego. You could not step to the couches or to put on the radio!

I will post some pics when I find them!

I don't even have a separate room for my Lego. It's all in my room.

That unfortunately means it's wherever it can go. But it's surprisingly not that cluttered. I've only displayed the sets/MOCs I really like, and I've optimised the use of storage containers around my desk so as not to have it full (it's not a huge desk either). There's a box of Technic pieces and a box of assorted Bionicle pieces under my bed, along with a box for MOCs and sets that I've not yet found room to display, but don't want to canibalise them either.

I've got a 5 tier shelf with 4 shelves of Lego (and another shelf for useful books that I might need at my desk- DC Comics encyclopedia, Transformers Ultimate Guide, etc), two wall shelves (of three), a full set of shelves for my Batcave, two other wall shelves and assorted other bits of shelf space, which is mainly used for other books.

So it's actually quite tidy, but that's because I can't stand disorder.

My room, not so much, okay it covers both my tables, and the floor. But my mate in wellington, he has a room with it on 2 big tables, the T.V., all over the floor in the room, and then in the 2 big tables in the garage, and in shelves etc ion the garage. I'll get pics next time I'm down there! (He's busy all the time, and he lives a 7 hour drive away... :-/)

I've only been collecting Lego since 2009 and I've accumulated 1765 sets and I've got them all in bags which I store them in plastic tubs/containers. And I've officially ran out of room. I've contemplated storage but dont want to part with them. What the hell do I do? I could give up but I love collecting Lego so much and next year looks even better than this year.

Get a bigger place, thats what we did.

If I had 1765 sets I would really be asking myself some hard questions.

How many of those sets do I really want? Do I have doubles of sets I really only want singles of? Would I be better selecting only one or two themes and collecting those?

Then I would start to seperate my collection into "have to keep" and "sell off" piles.

Then I would sell off the sets in the sell off pile.

But that is just me.

If you honestly have 1765 sets, it's time to cool down and enjoy the sets you have. A person can't be expected to enjoy 2-3 sets a day. Take some time out, see what you like, then try buying more selectively.

Wow, you really jump into stuff, don't you? In just 2 years you've bought that many, that's crazy. I've been collecting for about double the time and I don't have anywhere near that amount, and I buy a lot, or so I thought. Like mentioned, just slow down and enjoy what you have.

Wow, yeah, 1765 sets is crazy in two years . I amassed an additional 600+-, on top of my original 100, since I started collecting again in 2009. I too have run out of space so I boxed my entire city and brought down all the undisplayed sets from the attic. All I need now is to get a bigger place. Thats pretty much the only solution other than getting rid of a few (bunch). Good luck default_classic.gif

I have over 1000 sets collected brand new over the last 25 years. Most are made up, put in plastic bags then boxed in new cartons. They are currently in a 63 cubic metre storage unit along with hundreds of sets for spare parts and some glued shop models. I thinking of selling off most of my older sets and concentrating on keeping enough for doing display layouts at train shows.

I ended up buying the house next to mine so I have a Lego-free place to live out of. Had a heck of a time explaining to the bank why I needed two houses next to each other without resorting to revealing my Lego addiction.

Looks like a bigger place. Huff, more money.

Surely your problem cannot be money :D

I love reading your posts, they make everyone else's seem trivial.

It's a rather radical solution

If I ever get to that stage I'll be really, really, really happy.

So, how is it to be your own neighbour? Do you get newspapers two times?

And that's all I wanted to ask.

@Pennas: 1765 sets in 2 years? And you're surprised you've ran out of room?!

That's like 2,5 sets per day.

You're living LEGO dream.
