Excellent landscaping Kabel, especially the stream

Great rock-work and foliage as well, I can't wait for this challenge :excited:

Still waiting.....I saw Ecc's pics on Flickr from last night and keep expecting another chapter to this prologue. Patience has never been my strong point :sceptic:

No need for more patience

So, sorry for the silly question, but are the people shown inhabiting Amortug men, or really tall dwarves? The first part of the story said Amortug is the new dwarven capital, but the second has all tall folk shown.

I spent longer than I'd care to admit staring at the last picture.

So pretty... so shiny...

Also, thanks for paving the way with tall dwarves ecc. My sigfig is a dwarf as well, but the short legs are pretty limiting and I was trying to think of a way to.. grow him, Magic potion, ancient spell, fountain of growth, I guess he'll just be a tall dwarf and save himself a trip somewhere  .

Wow, both are awesome chapters! Great builds guys, I'm getting pretty psyched up about Challenge III! Ecc, any chance we can see an overall pic of the dwarven army? It looks pretty badass.

Yay, more dwarf stuff! I love those crenelations/battlements.

Re: short legs, there's always BrickFortress. They added dark brown last year, and dark green (which looks cool, tho I don't own any of those yet). They make the figures a tiny bit taller, but the only problem I've really had is they don't clutch well on the cheap green baseplates from the Lego containers, but even official Lego legs & short legs don't clutch well on those. They look a bit odd at some angles, but that's basically unavoidable even if TLG tried to make articulated short legs.

This is shaping up to be awesome. I like that the dwarves are getting so much play and I love what Ecc and Kabel have done with their architecture and industry. For someone like me, planning a few dwarf builds for AoM, it's inspiring stuff. What's really going on still seems under wraps but I can see a lot of opportunities that can easily and organically spring from the storytelling here. The dwarves could declare independence, or they could build up into a military power in their own right, causing tensions to mount and alliances/balances to waiver.

Very cool stuff.

Woohoo, challenge III, bring it on! :excited: Great intro builds Kabel, the narrow mountain gorge looks beautiful. Great dwarf army too! Looking forward to hearing how the story unfolds...

I'm psyched for this but can people from other guilds, excluding Mitgardia, participate in the challenge? Also, what is the actual challenge?

Yup. Every member from Historica can join. This is just the prologue. Somewhere this month (hopefully, or otherwise next month) the actual challenge appears. Just keep your eyes open for the challenge.

Edit: I just love the dwarf army. How much soldiers do you have?

@gabe: thanks for the praise, but the credits for everything fleshy have to go to Eccs!

@behemoth: patience boy, patience!

Okay, I just can't wait though! I'll be placing orders for things in the next few hours or so then I'll have to wait a week or so to show you guys what I get. I didn't meet my budget but I think I can still pull it off though, with what I'll be getting. Then I can surely reveal what I can possibly do.

It could seem like a diplomatic corps would come in handy in the coming months...

I am really looking forward for more - and those builds are just awesome!
