The video shows a turntable of minifigures, and one is a torso on top of clear bricks. It has a new robot head topped by the bell jar piece with a brain-printed Technic ball inside it. The link is a couple of pages back.

The "Brainjar" fig looks to consist of a Minifigure torso sitting on a round piece with 4 spider type legs attached to the round piece. Rest of the figure is as described except that there looks to be some kind of black backpack piece attached to the torso. Might be some kind of jet pack or energy source? Tough to tell from the photo, but you can definitely see the black piece under the robot head where it hooks on to the torso and something on the back of the figure. I'm guessing that the figure has some kind of weapon as well since none of the minifigs were displayed with weapons.

This figure is included in 70171 Ultrasonic Showdown (We believe, by process of elimination) along with what I am guessing is a small agent jet.

Frustrating that the shark has this stupid robot head and gold teeth, the colours on the body seems good..

Should think a giant shark was cool enough for the kids without turning it into a robot :hmpf_bad:

That is the second set this year with a robot shark, hopefully not a new trend :sadnew:

I think this one is much better than Manta's. This one can eat a minifigure, its head matches the body color better, and it doesn't use a sticker. And we've had a couple of sets with normal fig-eating sharks, so for me a robotic one is a nice change. The metallic head and body colors are just a bonus.

Huh. Looks like I was right about 70171 not being shown :sceptic:. Nonetheless, some nice footage of the other sets. And the "Brainjar" minifig/minibuild definitely has a large backpack (jetpack?) and what looks like a trans red base piece under the leg assembly....? Will be interesting to (eventually) see the box art and or the set at NYTF so we can see his accessories/weapons. I wonder if the red thing at the bottom is one of those new jumping/spring gimmicks that some of the Super Hero sets have?

It looks like the ultrasonic showdown will be a retail exclusive, since they didn't show it here.

I'm not sure as it's a pretty cheap set. $20 sets usually aren't retail exclusives, but it is possible (considering the Hailfire Droid and the fact that Ultrasonic isn't even an exclusive). And, we don't always hear about retail exclusives in catalogs, but again, we have seen them there before.

Yes, but who's to say that $20 is the official price. All we've gotten so far are rough estimates using a currency converter.

Also both Brainiac Attack and Dojo Showdown are store exclusives at a $25 price point. Not quite the $20 you mentioned, but it's still pretty close.

The listed retail price for 70171 in British Pounds is 17.99. For perspective, Invisible Gold Robbery is currently listed on the Lego UK website for 17.99 Pounds. So, based on that I assume this is a regular mass release set that will retail for $20/$25 USD/CDN in N.A. when it is released.

In an unrelated topic I have been trying to find box art for 70171online so that we can get some set details, but no luck! Look like we have to wait until the weekend!

Ultra sonic showdown is ultra awesome. I really wonder about the brain thing. If it's a new piece I'm going to be in MOCcing heaven. Mad science needs brains.

hm... shame about the picture size... I would really love a large close up of some of these sets... That brain thing is too cool.

I tried zooming in the picture to 200%

it's still acceptable
