ReZourceman Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 £39 import charges (customs + handling fee) but at least I have it. Quote
Missing Brick Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) There are some excellent 42% off Ultra Agents bargains to be had on Amazon uk at the moment: http://brickset.com/buy/country-uk/vendor-amazon/order-percentdiscount/theme-Ultra-Agents Edit: they didn't last long. Prices are back to their previous levels. Think it was just a 2 day wonder to compete with an Argos 3 for 2 offer. Not sure if it's worth holding out for even better discounts if they really are selling that badly... I succumbed to the stealth patrol for £23. Even though the giant car looks a bit junior-ized, the parts look useful ( and I really wanted that helmet !! ) Also, the UK lego shop were knocking out the last few Drillex's yesterday for £12.99 but they seem to have sold out and now the UA theme page has disappeared completely. PaddyBricksplitter Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Aww what? This is a bummer. I kept checking amazon for the 3rd wave. Really wanted the jet and ocean hq. Pity it was a great theme. Needed a TV show to sell it to kids though. Quote
mediumsnowman Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Got the Drillex set at my local Lego store for 20% off. I may do a review of it for EB! Quote
parksroad Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Sad sign for those of us who still love un-licensed, adventure-type themes. Quote
Lyichir Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Sad sign for those of us who still love un-licensed, adventure-type themes. Not really? Ultra Agents is unlikely to be the last such theme, and in fact Nexo Knights sounds like it may well be another theme in the same vein. For fans of Ultra Agents specifically, its discontinuation is a major bummer, but for fans of unlicensed action/adventure themes this is hardly the end. Quote
parksroad Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Of course you're right. I just meant some countries not even getting the final wave due to poor sales. It makes it look as though an original theme can't make it without a TV show, color-coded factions, etc--basically becoming a franchise rather than an ongoing theme a la Adventurers or something. </nostalgic rambling> Quote
benderisgreat Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 So Ultra Agents are cancelled? That's too bad, I really enjoyed the theme, it reminded me of my childhood favorite Lego theme Alfa Agents from early in 2000. The villains were the highlight of this theme in my opinion, but agents themselves are also great looking. Quote

The villains were the highlight of this theme in my opinion, but agents themselves are also great looking. All the sets looked great! But what I liked the most were those ingenious functions that the designers put into sets like the Ultracopter, that and the overall feel of the theme just made it an amazing line, more so than Ninjago, in my opinion, which I am also a big fan of. You know, since you mentioned Alpha Team, I find it interesting that the final wave of that line was US exclusive (that's what Brickset is telling me, at least), and now we have the final wave of UA, which is only sold in 3 countries. It's funny how two similar lines have had their run brought to a premature end in certain places. Quote

When people are going to look back at this theme, they are going to apriciate it more than kids of our time. Quote
Kalhiki Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Collection's complete. Got the Ocean HQ a few days ago. Beautiful set and great construction. I don't care that it doesn't float, it looks superb. It's like the Mobile HQ became a boat. All the compartments that can open up is a nice touch. I especially like the 'garage door' at the top and opening it up to reveal the twin gatling guns. Probably my favorite bit, though I haven't even fired the guns yet. Having all those studs fly everywhere... So yeah. It's sad this wave was cut short. But if you ever get the chance to pick up these sets for a reasonable price, I'd say go for it. Quote
Lyichir Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I'm already sort of regretting forgoing the Ultra Agents Ocean HQ at yesterday's AFOL discount day at the Lego store. I'm not the hugest Ultra Agents fan, so it's far from a necessity, but it's a gorgeous boat and I'd hate to miss out on it completely. I'm just holding on to the hope that it might see some more significant discounts next year as stores need to clear space for new product—if not, it may be one of those sets which I have to seek out years later. Peppermint_M Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 You're lucky you have the option! I'm hoping that there is a chance to pick it up any of this wave in Billund when I visit next year. Which is a shame, this wave has some really solid designs. Quote

Lyichir Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) AFOL discount day? Wait.. What? What's that about? It's a thing Lego Brand Retail does for LUG members... maybe just at the U.S. stores? I don't remember all the specifics. You get a sticker for your VIP card that identifies you as a member of a LUG, which you can show on a few specific days throughout the year to get a discount on non-exclusive sets. That's a shame, as I'm not part of a LUG. Thanks for sharing, though, and I'll keep that in mind in case I ever join one. Quote
Exetrius Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Tomorrow I'm attending a big lego event, so I checked which sets I wanted to buy and then I came across the UA wave 3. As you may have figured out, I didn't find them on sale (online) in the Netherlands. Can anyone tell me (or link to the page) why this wave wasn't released in my country and elsewhere? Quote

Poor sales performance of the first two waves is generally accepted as the reason for the limited release of UA wave 3. Quote
bjorkan Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Quite interesting, some weeks ago I found that UA can not be found in EU (in fact I was looking for robot shark, none in bricklink?) but in the online store in Croatia I found them, and even for 20-30% discount. Quote
dannallcorn Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Its a shame cause i love this series just wish could get the last 3 sets to finish the whole collection as that boat hq is awesome. Quote
benderisgreat Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Poor sales performance of the first two waves is generally accepted as the reason for the limited release of UA wave 3. If first 2 waves sold poorly than 3 wave wouldn't just come out at all. And yet it only came out in USA. Quote
Aanchir Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 If first 2 waves sold poorly than 3 wave wouldn't just come out at all. And yet it only came out in USA. Maybe it only sold poorly in Europe, then. It's also worth noting that in the U.S. they appear to be Toys 'R' Us exclusives. Quote
BlockLogo Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 The bigger sets may be Toys R Us exclusives but I've seen Ultra Agents at Target, Barnes & Noble and Hobbytown. Quote
Aanchir Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 The bigger sets may be Toys R Us exclusives but I've seen Ultra Agents at Target, Barnes & Noble and Hobbytown. I'm talking about just the three summer sets. I don't think there have been a whole lot of availability issues with the rest of this year's Ultra Agents sets. Quote
