Governor Mister Phes Posted March 19, 2005 Governor Posted March 19, 2005 Why is there a Pirate Lego section in this forum? I want a place to post all my awesome Pirate Lego ideas and I'm not sure where to do so. Castle gets its own section, so why not Pirates? Quote
Wolf04 Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 just post it in the MOC section....plus the Pirates theme is not as big as the Castle theme. btw, welcome to Eurobricks...I'm the big bad wolf...join me...to the darkside. ;) Quote

Well I guess you're right! Castle would be the longest running theme second to Space. I shall now suss out all the Pirate fanatics! Quote
The Middleman Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 Castle gets its own forum because Castle has new sets coming out and Pirates has been discontinued for years, save for a couple re-releases. Quote
ApophisV Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 Actually I always thought the "Castle" section is more something like an "ancient" section, that's why I posted my port there. But you have to know by yourself, where you'd like to put your MOC... ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 Castle really is an 'ancient structure' section, but Pirates really don't count as ancient. I would categorize a Roman/Greek theme and Vikings under Castle, though. Quote

Sorry for letting this unclear, I meant "ancient" in the way of "not today", so everything that could have taken place before the city lines (so to say the 20th century), I would even count 18th century buildings or whatever in my definition of "ancient category"... Governor Mister Phes Posted March 20, 2005 Author Governor Posted March 20, 2005 Castle gets its own forum because Castle has new sets coming out and Pirates has been discontinued for years, save for a couple re-releases. Pirates had new sets released in 2004 and re-released sets in 2002 and 2001. However I wouldn't blame anyone for not wanting to discuss the 2004 Pirate sets. Quote
ApophisV Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 To be honest: I have two of the smaller sets (The one with the chrome scimitar and the little float, and the other set with the bottle and the monkey), but I only got them for the parts ;) Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 I'll see during the automn sales. If there are any sets left :-D I'll buy some for parts like you Apo. Quote

Or would it be more benefical to buy the parts you need off Bricklink.com? Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 I guess it would depend on how good sales are in you country. Because this 4+ Pirates might not sell as well, who knows, buying the sets might be cheaper ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Treasure Island is great value - awesome accessories. The rest are pretty horrible. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 23, 2005 Author Governor Posted March 23, 2005 I've created a new thread for the discussion of 4+ Pirate Lego. I figured more people would find it if the thread was appropriately titled. So go here http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...t=0entry18843 And continue the discussion Quote
