SMC Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Just seems really odd that lego would end a fantasy line and then start a fantasy line in a few years maybe but now really. Quote
General Magma Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) I could be wrong, but I thought an Elves theme was coming after the Dwarves one in Castle, but instead we got the Elf in the CMS and then LOTR/TH. I may have mis-remembered that though. That is true. After the Middle-Earth themes, TLG must've been able to experiment with Elves a little bit, and realized their popularity - deciding to continue the Fantasy Castle follow-up that was supposed to happen years ago. Hammerhand Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I thought the same thing when I saw that. I think it could be a cool line, if they did something like a continuation of the fantasy era, accept using the elflands. Quote

Artanis I Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Sounds interesting, but they certainly can't reuse Middle-Earth parts like the Elf hairpiece or the Wargs Parts that are specifically designed for a license can't be used elsewhere Not quite true. A part that is of a licenced trade mark is not the same as a part used in a licenced theme. Don't wanna be the dealbreaker here, but did ya guys even thought about it that these are maybe not elves in the sense of "tolkien"style but rather with wings, magic wands and dressed in pink? It would be really funny, but at the same time really disappointing. Tinkerbell theme in minidolls. Would be awesome if I was slightly a girl. But I am a man. deskp Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Not quite true. A part that is of a licenced trade mark is not the same as a part used in a licenced theme. (In any case, the elf hairpiece was used in CMF 1 year before LOTR.) Thats another hairpiece, never used in lotr/hobbit. Quote
greenalfonzo Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) I just hope if they do this, we get a very decorative new helmet. One whose design is in line with the style of LOTR elves. I think the various elf warriors throughout the movies maybe had 5 different helmet designs, all of which had quite a lot of flair. Edited August 28, 2014 by greenalfonzo Quote
Artanis I Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Thats another hairpiece, never used in lotr/hobbit. Typical, I'm wrong on the Internet on the day my browser is slower than the first person to read and immortalise my wrongness before I can edit my post. Thanks. Quote
Mesonak Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Here you go: 41072 - Naida's Mysterious Source 41073 - Naida's Adventure Ship 41074 - (Translation was too broken, somebody else can try XD) 41075 - The Mystical Elves Hiding 41076 - Farran and the Crystal Cave Quote
PenPlays Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 41073-The Magic Bakery... (if my very bad German skills are working at least somewhat properly ) Nice to see that the elves are getting love. Curious if Farran and Naida are characters or tribes/groups of elves. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) By reading those the sets names my hopes for this theme are getting better by the minute I hope Lego won't disappoint us. Edited August 28, 2014 by LOTR343 Quote
wesker Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 These set names really sound Girlish Indeed. I almost get the impression this is actually part of the Friends/Disney Princess line rather than a new Castle subtheme. Quote
Alcarin Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Here you go: 41072 - Naida's Mysterious Source 41073 - Naida's Adventure Ship 41074 - (Translation was too broken, somebody else can try XD) 41075 - The Mystical Elves Hiding 41076 - Farran and the Crystal Cave HAHAHAAHAH There goes the subcastle theme down the drain, thats almost certainly Disney loookish stuff.... atleast based on name, too girlish and too uncastle like.... David Thomsen Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Um... Crap! I mentioned a range called 'Elves', but if these set descriptions are anything to go by, not the castle fantasy theme you all seem to have become excited about, but something more geared towards young girls. Prices in New Zealand dollars: 19.99 - Airas Creative Workshop 24.99 - Farran & The Crystal Hollow 39.99 - Naidas Spa Secret 59.99 - Azari & The Magic Bakery 99.99 - Treetop Hideaway These sound more like Friends/Disney sets to me than Castle, I'm so sorry to get everyone excited! (Also the reason I was messaging CM4Sci was so I could remain anonymous, so pretend this has nothing to do with me... ) Edit: Oh I see this has already been discussed. I wonder why those translated descriptions are so different from mine? Edited August 28, 2014 by David Thomsen Quote
Alcarin Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Guess we can lock that topic now, its a joke, nothing to be excited here, move along :P Really a shame but afterall I did not really expect LEGO to terminate LOTR to make Elves..... that would be kinda hilarious. Quote
narbilu Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I am just hoping for some really cool new helmets (and other gear), fit for an elf... something like they show on the drawing of the map. Quote
David Thomsen Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Oh, I should mention that I (or someone else equally anonymous) didn't find anything any new actual Castle related sets on the system. Quote
Mesonak Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Edit: Oh I see this has already been discussed. I wonder why those translated descriptions are so different from mine? Google Translate can be pretty terrible at times, that's all I'll say. :P Quote
Wardancer Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Elves in a bakery? Producing Lembas bread? I guess Naida and Farran are a very happy couple, so happy that all animals of the forest have come to celebrate. With gifts and cake! Even Fluffer and Stuffer, the funny rabbit twins, are invited. They help Naida and Farran pick their gender, because thats your choice in Elf Forest. Quote

Pulp Detective Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Oh crap...well still thats good news since I wont have to spend money on this theme. Quote
CptPJs Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Well, I'm actually more excited, I much prefer cute and colourful over realistic grey-black-brown with lots of weapons. And much like Friends, I bet there will be some useful unique parts you guys will just have to get :P Quote
TomKraut Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the '41' in the set numbers can only mean that we will be getting minidolls in these sets, as both Friends and Disney Princess share the leading 41. Personally, I couldn't be more excited about this as I LOVE the minidolls, but most of you guys seem to have different tastes Cheers TomKraut Quote
