K4kitty Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Ah ok, I must admit I hadn't checked the Canadian or US sites Quote
Sarah Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 At the start of June, Lego Elves has a new product on their S@H page. Elves Bag Charm. It features the baby dragon from the Pegasus Sleigh set coming out later this summer. It also has the nice Elves design printed on a long purple ribbon, and a light blue brick which matches the colour of the baby dragon. The dragon is relatively small compared to the other bag charms, which is perhaps why they added the blue brick. I find the brick an odd choice to add to the charm abd don't feel it adds much value to the charm. I think something like a purple leaf or pegasus wing would have been more suitable. I wonder if that ribbon would work as a bookmark. Quote
Karlota Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I have many sets of Elves (I have all except the boat), now the castle and sleigh (I love the little dragon) are available. I need both in my collection... ¡the Sky Castle is so expensive... but is great! Quote
Aanchir Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 The Ameet 2015 LEGO book catalog has pictures of some Elves books coming out this year, including a pic of the brick-built bracelet that comes with the Elves activity book! It's really cute and stylish, not to mention reasonably sturdy-looking! I was curious what the bracelet would look like, and I'm really impressed with what LEGO came up with. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Thanks Aanchir, whz zou browse Polish sites though_ That's my speciality, hahaha! The book is must have! I wanted to bricklink some more elves emblems to put on houses, but this way will be way cheaper! Quote
Vampirerichard Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) We got a third one: http://www.lego.com/...c7e35e3b5699d67 Edited June 17, 2015 by Vampirerichard Quote

I wanted to bricklink some more elves emblems to put on houses, but this way will be way cheaper! Well, I got the link from somebody in the BIONICLE topic, but Ameet is a pretty significant publisher since they do a lot of the illustrations for LEGO activity books and chapter books around the world, not just the ones published in Poland. We got a third one: http://www.lego.com/...c7e35e3b5699d67 Cool! This is our first time seeing Aira's workshop in any of the animations! And Enki too! Those birds Aira has are really cool, wonder if they'll ever be made as LEGO parts. And Azari is homeless? That's a real surprise, but not a bad one. I think this is my favorite of the webisodes so far! It certainly has the most world-building. Quote
Hythonia Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 We got a third one: http://www.lego.com/...c7e35e3b5699d67 So awesome! I agree with Aanchir, definitely the best of the three we have so far. I would love the peacocks that are in Aira's workshop. The "revelation" about Azari is a bit heartbreaking for a kids' series, I'm surprised (and impressed) that they are handling such deep topics like that. But then again, the first episode dealt with death, loss, and grief, so I guess the mature-ish themes are here to stay for Elves. I just hope we get some conflict via villains. Quote

How did the other Elves have homes in the first place? There's only one other elf known (Baker), and the landscapes don't seem to be populated by anyone besides them... So do they build homes? If they buy them, what currency do they use? Couldn't Azari just make a home, if the other Elves could? Quote
Aanchir Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 The fourth webisode is up. This one is very mysterious and includes some serious foreshadowing for future adventures. Quote
K4kitty Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Got Skyra's castle and the Pegasus set this weekend - both lovely with vibrant colours. the Skyra mini doll is beautifully detailed. Quote
OmShanti Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Got Skyra's castle and the Pegasus set this weekend - both lovely with vibrant colours. the Skyra mini doll is beautifully detailed. Lucky. I'm still impatiently waiting for their release. Seems like the only country that hasn't released the summer sets yet is the United States. I'm thinking it's going to be the tail end of summer here, around August. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I know that the Elves mini-episodes are interesting and enjoyable, but this is the Set discussion thread and not the place for the animations. Same rules as applied for Ninjago and Chima too. Thanks Quote

Same rules as applied for Ninjago and Chima too. Thanks Really? Alright, then, I guess somebody has to make a topic for the TV series and webisodes if there isn't one already. Unfortunately, it'll probably bring activity in this topic nearly to a standstill. It kind of bugs me that Eurobricks breaks up story and set discussion like this, especially since it means shoving pretty much any kind of story discussion to the same place as non-LEGO discussion. I'm glad the action figures subforum generally keeps things more contained. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Ninjago and to some extent Chima, became so entrenched in story discussion that any talk about the LEGO sets themselves was buried and lost, with pages upon pages of TV show chatter. I want to remain consistent so Elves animation needs to be separated from Elves LEGO. It keeps it fair. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) I have to echo Aanchir's view. I'll of course abide by mods' edicts, but I do think the tightly restrictive moderation here tends to stifle discussion, and frankly prevents a lot of worthwhile discussion from happening at all. But as noted, I'll obey the rules. :/ Edited July 5, 2015 by Blondie-Wan Quote

I'm glad the action figures subforum generally keeps things more contained. I do not wish to initiate a discussion on this matter but rather to add some clarity, each subforum has to deal with it's themes and sets in a way that makes the most sense. The size of each community, amount of toylines, complexity of the theme, etc are just some of the factors that come into play, and we are consistently changing how our forums handle these themes as the community expands or contracts. It's hard to please everyone when every theme carries with it multiple different types of audiences. Quote
Velouria Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) So...What now? No upcoming sets for this theme as far as I know, and the year is progressing... Does anyone know when sets for the holiday season are usually announced? I wonder how well these sets actually sell, considering that I have seen them on sale quite a lot. Anyway, I hope it's not the end of the line for the Elves, as I really like them... Edited July 10, 2015 by Velouria Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Sometime soon there is some sort of retail catalogue leak, or webstore posting that hints at new sets for next year and the winter. It's not supposed to happen and TLG don't like it, so there is always the chance that they will change how retailers get next years information and nothing will leak. Quote

Anyway, I hope it's not the end of the line for the Elves, as I really like them... It's worth noting that considering the initial wave of Elves sets was a March release this year, it's entirely possible that next year's first wave of Elves sets might similarly launch a few months into 2016. That probably wouldn't make the biggest difference in when we see our first pics of the new sets, but it would mean that calling them "sets for the holiday season" might not be that accurate. Quote
Hythonia Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I hate to bring it up again, but is there a thread or something to discuss the flavor of Elves and the webisodes? Quote

Anyway, I hope it's not the end of the line for the Elves, as I really like them... Since it's not like Ninjago or Friends who already announced more than two story eras in this year, we can't really expect that Elves would have the same treat. Hopefully we can see more in 2016.Just judged by the cartoon story, I believe that the single wave could still come with several full-length episodes rather than just one. I hate to bring it up again, but is there a thread or something to discuss the flavor of Elves and the webisodes? These topics are usually put in Culture&Media forum. Quote
Aanchir Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Amazon.com has a six-page preview of the new chapter book "Quest for the Keys" which comes out next month! Story-wise, it seems to be just an adaptation of the TV episode "Unite the Magic", but it has a lot of additional details that were not in that, like flashbacks to Emily's childhood memories of her grandmother. It also reveals that Emily's parents are scientists. I wasn't sure whether I should add this book to my wishlist, since I figured it'd be just an adaptation of the TV episode, but now I know I'll be getting it for sure! A second chapter book will be coming out in January. I'm not sure what its story will be yet, though. It could be an adaptation of the webisodes, the start of next year's main story, or even a new side-story of some kind. Quote
OmShanti Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Lego has added the Elves summer sets to their US online shop, available for purchase August 1st. Quote
