I managed to get the finish line set and the smaller porsche set. Is there a possibility of this theme continuing for a few years?

These seem to be selling very well at my TRUs and my LEGO Store, I wouldn't be surprised to see it continuing and even possibly reaching regular stores in the United States.

Does anybody know if the bigger F40 set will be made or was it just speculation? If it is making it to production, when will it come out in stores? Please answer :classic:

If you meant a Creator F40, I'd say so!

From what I've seen of the LEGO 2016 lineup, it looks like we're getting no new sets for this line. Of course, I don't know about TLG. They may be talking to lots of automakers with either Mercedes-Benz or Ford, to either Le Mans or the WRC, but other than that, we've yet to find out if this set continues on. Here are my best bets:

  1. First off, Porsche. I have 40% surety they're gonna bust out the 911 Turbo S in a combo set with another car, while the new 911 GT3 RS and the Cayman GT4 may be coming in singles, but unless they bring out the 919 Hybrid through a big Le Mans licensing deal and this cute car, there's gonna be not much else to expect from them.
  2. I have 100% certainty Ferrari will show the S-F15T F1 car in a set, and 60% certainty their 488 GTB will become a LEGO model, but my Spider senses are screaming nothing but: "F12berlinetta!!!". The polybag model, for me, sucked at being a representative model, so maybe scaling it up a bit would help. The complicated bodywork by the side of the car will be a challenge to pull off, but man it would rock if the really did nail it.
  3. McLaren? Well, the 650S GT3 looks boss, and the P1 GTR is an even bigger boss with a fully-exposed rear end, but the rest of the cars in their line is actually bland visually, maybe even worse than Porsche's 911 line. They look the same! It's mind-boggling. My guess is that only those two cars I mentioned will go through, as well as the MP4-30 F1 car.
  4. Now for my bets on the other marques. My Spider Senses call for a breezy licensing deal with Daimler's road car department and AMG, but until the set names come out I think the theme is too late for the SLS AMG and SL65 AMG Black, though Mercedes can simply say the word and bring out the license. Still, there's the C63 AMG Black and the plain-Jane AMG-GT, and then there's the SLS GT3 and AMG-GT3, which can go for something similar to 75912.
  5. Ford is packed full of performance cars, with the Mustang Shelby GT350 and the new GT being the cars that have a shot at being a set, and with the PR barrage Ford Performance is bringing, it would make sense to have their cars (including the new Ford GT GTE race car--
!!) become buildable, playable merchandise, but I've yet to hold my breath on that matter.
  6. And finally, Lamborghini. They've gotten the bull brand before, but binned the regular Gallardo (the rozzer Gallardo is nice, though). And the current lineup will definitely set up the biggest challenge for the design team. But I have a feeling that if they get the wide and massive Aventador SV as a model, we will be getting a new windshield part. I don't think the current one would do. Same thing for the Huracan LP610-4 and its Super Trofeo racing version if they ever get through, too.

XAxles, keep in mind the list was from a Target worker. Speed Champions is a Toys"R"Us exclusive theme.

Well, sheithe. But either way, here's waiting. Edited by XAxles

From Brickset, fresh off Amazon.de:

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (75870) – EUR 14.99

Ford Mustang GT (350?) (75871) – EUR 14.99

Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (75872) – EUR 14.99

Chevrolet Camaro (ZL1 or Z/28?) (75874) – EUR 34.99

Ford F-150 Raptor (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (75875) – EUR 49.99

Lowest-priced sets are singles, higher ones have diorama pieces and/or competition, like 75912.

Pictures of cars that will become immortalized in 6W are below, as they are listed:

(Mustang GT may be the GT350 seen above, not the regular GT, or maybe not)

(like the Mustang, the Camaro may be the Z/28, or may be just a regular Camaro)

(yes, people, we're getting a Ford pick-up, the hottest one. Whether or not we'll be getting newer, springy axles too remains to be seen)

Now I have two questions for you:

  1. CAN YOU FEEL IT!? OK, yes, it isn't as completely American, what with THE AUDI PROTOTYPE WE'RE GETTING, but is it safe to say that Wave 2 comes with MAXIMUM AMERICA? I can say yeah, this is max 'Merica.
  2. Are you worried about how the cars will turn out? I am, especially the Audi. How can they nail the unique shape, and how can they nail the back fin?

I wonder if the news about the Corvette is a good or bad sign when it comes to the Ideas set currently under review...

I am disappointed that we aren't getting any Lamborghini product, a Speed Champions Lamborghini would be a must-buy for me.
