Robert8 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Well, the Joker is an overly unrealistic character from an overly unrealistic franchise while a bartender and a reverend aren't. But I agree that this moral discussion is going nowhere, at least until we see the list, then we can discuss the selection. About getting the 5 main characters again..... the Tracy Ullman Simpsons are coming back this fall in the Treehouse of Horror. Maybe we can get them in LEGO form. I know it's a long shot but one can dream Edited September 3, 2014 by Robert8
The Chosen Minifigure Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 The obvious way to get any "controversial" characters... put them plain vanilla in a large set that a majority of kids won't have E.G: Moe could be getting a Krusty burger, And the rev shopping at the Kwik-E!
Borador Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 The obvious way to get any "controversial" characters... put them plain vanilla in a large set that a majority of kids won't have E.G: Moe could be getting a Krusty burger, And the rev shopping at the Kwik-E! They can't do that. They can't justify the cost of new molds for such a giant set. As much as I'd love Moe or Duffman (that one wouldn't happen anyways) they'd have to be in the CMF series or some small set, otherwise, we won't see them...
The Chosen Minifigure Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Actually, the opposite, in a huge set the cost would be less compared to a new mould in a small set. Besides, we are never gonna see Ralph's head again, but that was in a tiny set! A CMF no less!

Besides, we are never gonna see Ralph's head again, but that was in a tiny set! A CMF no less! Not exactly. I'd rather think the set is the whole box, with the sixty packets. Which means that there are three Ralph heads per set (at least according to WhiteFang's review), which is less expensive than one head per set.

True, but my point is that a big set could afford new moulds more than a small set. Though I still wish they hadn't gone the "Cartoon head" alley.
Douglas_Jon Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I imagine we'll be getting variants of the family taking up a few slots, if anyone's played Simpsons Hit & Run, the variants could be some of the costumes available in that game (Mr Plow Homer, Officer Marge, Bartman). However I'd just be happy with Snake, Prof Frink, Principal Skinner, Groundskeeper Willie, Moe, Sideshow Bob, Fat Tony, Duffman, Radioactive Man, Otto, Smithers, Rev Lovejoy, Sideshow Mel, Bumblebee Man, Lenny, Carl, or Barney.
Robert8 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I imagine we'll be getting variants of the family I'm guessing teenage Homer and teenage Marge as they appear in "The Way We Was" and grown-up Bart, Lisa and Maggie. I was wondering about the color of S2. It's unlikely they will use sky blue with clouds again.
Douglas_Jon Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Teenage Homer and Marge would be brilliant, as would Slob Bart, President Lisa and Rock Star Maggie. However I think we're more likely to get some more recognisable variants like the Sunday Best Clothes.
Zulithe Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I hope we get a 2015 Simpsons set other than just the minifigures, just like we got The Simpsons House in 2014. What should it be? Well, there are lots of good options... but I think it would be cool if they did a Treehouse of Horror set that had minifigures of some of the best and most iconic characters or character variants from the specials. As for what the set itself would be? Well... maybe it could be Bart's Treehouse? Sure they could do something like Moe's Tavern which would also be good, but I feel like doing a set like that limits the minifigures they could include.

I think Bumblebee Man is highly unlikely...he is long gone from the show or am I wrong? My fav. Homer variants would be Radioactive Man or Mr. Plow. That would be awesome. But as they could skip new headmolds with their sunday best outfits I am afraid they will go that route...

negativesleep Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Hoping to see the following but know that we will likely see some of the head molds re-used from the first series. 1. Comic Book Guy 2. Lenny 3. Carl 4. Cletus 5. Moe 6. Skinner 7. Sideshow Bob 8. Dr. Nick 9. Otto 10. Barney 11. Frink 12. Disco Stu 13. Fat Tony 14. Mr. Plow 15. Hibbert 16. Groundskeeper Willie
MAB Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 True, but my point is that a big set could afford new moulds more than a small set. Though I still wish they hadn't gone the "Cartoon head" alley. That is not true when discussing CMF. The reason CMF sets get so many new molds is that they sell in very high quantities compared to regular / large sets. So, in the case of CMFs, small sets can afford to have new molds more than large sets.
MAB Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 11-Comic Book Guy with radioactive man issue #1 Bart has already come with #1 Radioactive Man comic, so I hope they don't do it again.
Fuppylodders Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Has there been any source of anything regarding releases in 2015?
Amazing Bricks Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) According to the Thebrickfan, we may see a Kwik-E-Mart set coming in 2015 with the second series of Simpsons collectable minifigures. Here's what they said: "In addition to another wave of the LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures in 2015, a little bird had told me that we could be seeing another set next year, the Kwik-E-Mart. There wasn’t much info given but it was said that it would be a little cheaper than The Simpsons House (71006). I could venture a guess that one of the minifigures in the set would be Apu Nahasapeemapetilon since he runs the Kwik-E-Mart. Another minifig could be his brother Sanjay since he helps out from time to time." Edited October 20, 2014 by amazingbricks
SMC Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 So another D2C? Just CMF and D2C could be interesting.
just2good Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 According to the Thebrickfan, we may see a Kwik-E-Mart set coming in 2015 with the second series of Simpsons collectable minifigures. Here's what they said: Totally called it. I hope we'll get Bart in his purple jacket, and/or Homer in his Mr. Plow jacket along with a new Apu.
Robert8 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Interesting... If this is a D2C now we know some of the minifigures of Simpsons Series 2, since D2C sets don't get exclusive minifigures Of course, Manjula and Snake are the safest bet.

Robert8 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Which do we know of? D2C sets never have exclusive moulds. That's what a wanted to write. Sorry.
just2good Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 D2C sets never have exclusive moulds. That's what a wanted to write. Sorry. Oh, okay. Very true.
Shib Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Kwik-E-Mart was a fairly safe bet for further Simpsons source material. The thing is if they'd done a full range for the Simpsons I could see how the Kwik-e-Mart would have worked for just about any price point, being different sizes to fit the price. I think it'll be a little bit of a shame if they only do the bigger sets for this theme. People like my brother would almost certainly come out of dark ages as the result of a varied price point theme of the Simpsons - he even told me as much in that if he could just buy the Simpsons and/or Flanders cars he wouldn't think twice but anything £100+ and he doesn't see the point. I get why TLG would choose this route though. It's more of an adult theme than child theme so more likely to appeal with higher detail and therefore higher prices.
PromocjaLego Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 New Simpsons set? Promises to be very interesting.
