Blondie-Wan Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 While there is not a strong connection between them, they are the only family members we are missing Well, them and their (and Marge's) mom. But I think you're right about everything else. Santa's Little Helper will almost certainly come with a new version of an existing family member (Santa Homer, perhaps? Granted he wasn't dressed as Santa when he got SLH, but still...).

Or maybe a Bartman or a Couch potato Homer.
Shib Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I think that considering how long the Simpsons has been running and how many different costumes the family have worn on occasions I'd put money on getting variants of the main family in another CMF series. If I remember correctly Marge's head has a hole in as if ready for a hat? I wouldn't be surprised if we got something in the way of; Sunday Best Marge Pyjamas Lisa Bartman if TLG are feeling generous or Blue t-shirt Bart if they aren't Vest and underpants or Sunday Best Homer I deliberately looked for repeating variants rather than those that only featured in one episode. I think that there is always a chance of all the family being Sunday Best versions, but I think Bart's combed hair look would really require a new mould. The only recurring variation of Maggie I could think of was Snow suit Maggie, but you'd think they'd want to reuse the baby body mould rather than make a new Star Shaped one. There are a lot of other variants I'd like more, but I think that recurring ones are more likely than single episode. I'd love a Stretch Dude Bart, Clobber Girl Lisa and Fallout Boy Millhouse but I think the fewer times they've appeared the less likely it is to happen.
SMC Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I think we could see another Homer and Bart but not the other family members.
KCMatze Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I see them throwing in the entire family again, they are the selling part I suppose. As long as we get new outfits and facial expressions that is absolutely fine with me.
Shib Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I think we could see another Homer and Bart but not the other family members. Considering the fact that TLG is constantly trying to counter the notion that Lego is just for boys I think they'd likely want to avoid giving people more ammunition against them. I think they will likely do at least Homer, Bart, Marge and Lisa and if they can find an appropriate alternate costume for Maggie they almost certainly will do another.
SMC Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 ^ I do agree and I did think about that but I really dont want 1/3 of the new cmfs not being new.
gedren_y Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 With Maggie, there could just be a recolor of her body mold. She has been in several colors over the years. There is also the possibility of the baby body mold being used for Maggie's rival, the uni-brow baby. While people are commenting on the idea of Marge wearing a hat, I would prefer a Marge with her hair down. The Mr. Plow variant of Homer would be much appreciated. As would be Bartman. I don't know about Lisa. Church clothing Lisa wouldn't work well without all the others doing the same. President Lisa wouldn't do well without the older Bart and teen Maggie. We know we are getting Dr. Hibbert, and I am hoping we get the robe bodywear piece in white as his lab coat.
Shib Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 The problem with a hair down marge and a good version of Mr Plow is they'd both need new head moulds (I'm thinking Mr Plow with the hat) - Seeing as Marge seems to be set for a hat I think that her Sunday Best outfit is a highly likely candidate, TLG might have pre planned it, hence the hole in the head. They could do Mr Plow with the normal Homer head but it would miss a little of the charm of the character. I'm prepared to be proven wrong on all fronts with a second Simpsons CMF line, but I'd rather have low expectations and be pleasantly surprised ;-)
The Kid Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Who's to say the core family can't have new head moulds too? Their inclusion seems likely because they're the focal point of a Simpsons series - not to save on the cost of moulds. Series 1 was a risk but still had 16 new moulds; Series 2 is a safer bet, so why not another 16 (or 17, with SLH)?
pranas Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I'll bet you dollars to donuts (mmmmmmmm...donuts...) that all five family members are going to be in series 2 with new variants. While hardcore Simpson/LEGO fans would rather have nothing but brand new characters/new molds, it just doesn't make sense, business wise, for TLG to do that. For starters they'd want to reuse as many old molds as possible to save money, so they'll give us the core family again and round out the rest of the series with new characters. And casual fans of the show are going to want the core family over side characters. As much as I want a Moleman or Bumblebee Man or Squeaky Voiced Teen, the casual fan would rather have a Homer or Bart. And casual fans far outnumber the hardcore fans, so you have to cater to them a little bit more to make money. That's just economics. But hopefully the variations of the main family will be enough to keep both the hardcore and casual fans happy. And yeah, it stings a little that including the main family again takes away spots for more obscure characters, but fingers crossed this series sells well enough that we get a third (and forth and fifth and sixth) series.
SMC Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 But that's the thing they should save the repeats for the 3rd or 4th wave and we are talking about main characters we have not got yet not moleman and teen.
Robert8 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 If the family is indeed getting new moulds my bet is teenage Homer and Marge and grown up Bart, Lisa and Maggie, since those versions have appeared several times in the show
just2good Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Doubt that any of the family will get new head moulds, and I really think we'll only get 3/5- Homer, Bart, and either Marge or Lisa.
legofanatic12 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 If they include Sideshow Bob in Simpsons Series 2, he will be in his normal life not the one he's escaped from jail??
Robert8 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 If they include Sideshow Bob I'm begging they include him, because he is my favorite character of the show, but I'm afraid his head is too bulky for a CMF bag. About his outfit, he could be in jail clothes. But I don't know if they would use the blue uniform or the orange one. The orange is most known but the blue is his current uniform (he just appeared wearing it in last sunday's new episode) Anyway, I would like better his "Sideshow" outfit.
SMC Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 My most wanted charters that you don't see all the time are Sideshow Bob, kang and kudos. I started making a list of main people we need but it got a bit long after this next wave think we will have a easier job of making a needed list.
Gomek Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Indeed, but this time around, these were leaked in Asia. Usually CMF parts are made in China, so it's very possible that for the first time ever, we have CMF leaks. Are we sure these are Lego leaks as opposed to Decool or the like? I managed to avoid the counterfiet figures for a while but had to give in recently when they started making ones that are otherwise unavailable. (Hulk buster armor). Anyways, it would be something if these were Knock off molds. Doubt that any of the family will get new head moulds, and I really think we'll only get 3/5- Homer, Bart, and either Marge or Lisa. I already have two versions of the family members. I very much hope we don't get more (just in different outfits). I'd much rather use the '16' spots for other characters.
SMC Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 ^ That is a point they have already reused the family molds.

To me this item primarily sells to people who are pretty into it. ^ That is a point they have already reused the family molds. I thought the point was they already used the molds and they probably would be pretty happy to reuse them a 3rd time.

While they theoretically could have new moulds look at it from TLGs perspective, they already have head moulds for them that could be used for a load of different variants rather than making new moulds for other variants of existing characters.nthey are just as likely to sell using the same mould as a new. When you look at it that way why should TLG go to the expense of making new moulds when they don't need to. Now thats not to say they won't makenew moulds for variants of the family, but I'd say its much better to assume we will get the worst case scenario and be happy with that, then if we get anything better it will be utterly brilliant and we can be really happy about it.

Actually, Series 1 had 18 new moulds- all the head moulds and Maggie's body part and Scratchy's tail.
just2good Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 And the new dual-colored legs and arms. I guess you can count those, and if you do, you have to count the dual-colored legs as new moulds as well.
