July 21, 200618 yr I'm a big pirate fan, the sets aged 1989 to 1995 were the best sets and I own a few of them. The Spanish weren't a bad faction but the set designs on a whole were sub-par. If lego did a new pirates line now, and at the quality of their newer town, SW, viking sets, they would be a big success.
July 21, 200618 yr I think it goes without saying that i am a pirates fan, i enjoy ships in general and love the armada flagship for its color design and figs... the spaniards could have been so much cooler. my favorite big ship is SES though, which i proudly display at home! My little bro was really into islanders or "canibals" as he caleld them :) so now i have all of his islanders! whoo hoo. My theme order would have to be the following: 1.Pirates 2.Wild West - I cant get enough of these, and i was just starting to have my own money when they came out, so i have many many cavalry men! They make for interesting crews on ironclads and other US ships i try to make." 3.Adventurers/Orient Expedition - um, I am a history major, so this obviously is one of my favorites! 4.Castle - always have a place in my heart for this theme, and always have a place for their fortifications when using my pirates! muhahaha 5. Ninja - do i need a reason, also adds more enemies for my pirates! 6. Vikings - they are new so i have not really been able to decide how much i like them, though i do own the whole line! thankyou TRU for having killer sales after i got paid LOL! 7. Exo- Force, i am really into giant robots right now! 8. Space, can't forget it!
July 21, 200618 yr Since I haven't posted in this thread yet... I'm a big Pirate fan. It is the best theme Lego has ever created. And of all kinds of sets I like ships best. My favourite subtheme are the blue-coated soldiers and my favourite minifig is Governor Broadside. I think Spaniards had a big potential and are great-looking minifigs, could have been even cooler than bluecoats had Lego provided them with more and better sets (Armada Flagship is slightly disappointing). My favourite ship is the Black Seas Barracuda. I would like Lego to revive the theme, but only if the new sets were as good as the original ones, excluding the 1997 sets which weren't that good. If the new sets were to look like KK2 or something like that - then don't revive the theme! This would be like killing the legendary line and in that case I'd be perfectly happy with just buying old, second-hand Pirate sets. I'd prefer that rather than bringing disgrace to Lego Pirates.
July 21, 200618 yr I LOVE the Pirate theme! The only sub-theme of the line I don't really care for is the Islanders. Growing up I never had any of the ships or large sets, so I'm anxious to get add those to my collection. I remember asking for the BSB one Xmas and was a little disappointed when "Santa" didn't bring it. That year I think I got the Victory Lap Raceway instead... It just didn't compare! I wish I still had my original sets, but they have been lost in time. Presently I'm working on a backstory for my pirates using historical references and inspiration from the Pirates of the Carribean. Once completed, I'll post it. I have plans to build a port once I get enough pieces, but the original sets are my current priority. -Lord Arlington
July 24, 200618 yr Well i just joined today. Anyway. I would say i like the Pirates theme. My favorite themes are by the following order: Star Wars, Pirates, City, Castle, and other. Right now i own only three pirate sets.Imperial Flagship. Imperial Out Post. And 6285. For i don't know the actual name for it :-) Imperials
July 24, 200618 yr The pirates was my particular favourite theme from lego, Or rather the soldiers were, having the tough job of keeping the peace in the caribbean from pirates.
July 24, 200618 yr Welcome to Eurobricks Commodore and ImperialScouts, heh, your username is both pirate and SW orientated, your two most favorite themes, nifty. Right now i own only three pirate sets.Imperial Flagship. Imperial Out Post. And 6285. For i don't know the actual name for it :-) Set number 6285 is a glorious pirate schooner named The Black Seas Barracuda. Oh, I have neglected posting in this thread cause I have no pirate sets, but now since I posted here anyway I now shall let you guys know I have no pirate sets!! But I want some really badly; I hope I can buy that Imperial Trading Post of Ebay soon. I like Imperial guards better than pirates.
July 25, 200618 yr My mistake :-$. I did not mean the BSB. I meant 6835, I mistook the 3 for an 8. But since a recent ebay purchase, i do have the Black Seas barracuda, Broadside's brig, and Smugglers Shanty. As well as parts from other sets as well. it should come in tomorow :-D Sorry for my mistake. Thanks for the welcome :-) Edit: Hehe, well then. 6235. oey. it is a nice little set. I like it. Little odd that the monkey has a sword in it's hands, would wanna stay away from him! X-O

Thanks for the welcome :-) Oops, I think you made another little mistake, 6835 is a space set, "Saucer Scout", (heh, scout) but when you said you mistook the 3 for an 8 I realized what you meant was 6235 which is "Buried Treasure" a small but nice pirate set. But don't worry, people make typographical errors like this all the time. http://www.bricklink.com/index.asp, http://brickset.com/ and http://peeron.com/ are all good set references just incase you didn't know.
July 25, 200618 yr Author Governor Its wonderful to have all you Pirate LEGO fantatics joining us! By The Way... Isn't 6835 a space set called Saucer Scout? Also if any newer users would like to list their sets we have a Which Pirate Lego sets do you have? thread - so go wild! There is much to discover in this forum!
August 20, 200618 yr Author Governor Very well pointed out Mr Sean! This thread has grown quite nicely over the past couple of months.
August 20, 200618 yr I'm a good fan, if not big, to pirates. I pretty much stop by here, and here only, (in the Pirates Sub-Forum) Never left it to venture through the other forums X-O !My dedication is going to stay with Pirates on this site :-)
August 20, 200618 yr Don't let Hobbes and Snefroe catch you writing that! :-D I was trying to expand my horizons and posted a few comments in city theme's divers discusion, but the best I could come up with was "As for divers, the only value in them is what I can salvage for the pirate theme. All the underwater scenery was cool." :-D
August 20, 200618 yr I thought that I should post here, seeing as I'm a pirate fan. Pirates are my favroite theme in a tie. I like Castle and Pirates equally. I'd like to thank Mister Phes for bringing me to the light side! He told me to get some pirates right away after I voted for castle in the, "Which theme is better poll," and said that I never got any pirates. And good thing I listened to him. Now I love 'um! :'-) Ar...
August 20, 200618 yr Wait a sec...are you trying to say there's other lego besides Pirate lego? \ I'm a good fan, if not big, to pirates. I pretty much stop by here, and here only, (in the Pirates Sub-Forum) Never left it to venture through the other forums X-O !My dedication is going to stay with Pirates on this site :-)
August 20, 200618 yr Wait a sec...are you trying to say there's other lego besides Pirate lego? Nice try Mr Aaron... Yes there is :-P ;-) Greetings from Serbia
September 5, 200618 yr Author Governor And that other LEGO is great for making Pirate MOCs with :-D There have been quite a few interesting pieces over the years that never made it into the SYSTEM Pirate Theme that I think work quite nicely. So lets acknowledge these wonderful sets for what they are - part packs!
September 7, 200618 yr I red all the topic (yes, all of it !) and I'm amazed by the number of people ONLY browsing this subforum. Seriously, a little look outside wouldn't hurt IMO, there are plenty of cool discussions out there ! Not to mention that you could gain a lot in term of MOC skills as some of the techniques used by our castlers and spacers still didn't hit the carribeans yet
September 10, 200618 yr I'm a big Pirate fan, But the high price of S/H sets is putting me off taking up the hobby :-( Rob
September 28, 200618 yr Author Governor What do you mean by that Mr Blitzkrieg? There have been no Pirate Sets on Shop at Home since 2002 - unless you're referring to the horrible 4+ Pirates. Or do you mean that you're buying other sets from S@H and the postage is draining your budget you'd otherwise spend on Pirate sets form elsewhere.
October 18, 200618 yr I wanna know who likes/loves/worships Pirate Lego!I'm a huge fanatic of the original theme and have acquired almost got all of the sets. I was hoping there was a Pirate section like there is castle because I have plenty to write about them. Oh well, no such luck. So who is into the Pirates? (Pirates Lego includes the sub-themes Soldiers, Imperial Guards, Indigo Island and Imperial Armada) Oh, and if you dislike Pirate Lego, could you please refrain from posting as I'm only interested in hearing from the people who like it. You can start your own Pirate Lego bashing topic if you feel the need to write negative comments about it. Thank you! I particularly like islanders they have been my favorite since 1997 I have always wanted a set and I just got mine from Ebay it was $15 and it came with a clown faced islander, king kahuka, and 2 regular islanders whith horns and also it came with a bow and arrow and spear plus 2 oars. Im trying to make a islanders part of this site but im new and i dont know how if anyone knows pm me also pm me if you like islanders. *skull*
October 18, 200618 yr My dedication is going to stay with Pirates on this site :-) So much for Pirates only X-D
