Waler Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Andd Dokludi and Waler have replicas Dokludi's 42031 http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=547662 Waler's 42031 http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=547654 And her's dokludi's replica of 42032 http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=547663 Very nice work Yes, I built mine in about 3 hours. Sorry for those triangle liftarms on top but "flat" 1x5 I have in my MOC's which are on exhibition . For about 2 weeks I will present better replica (with right liftarms and colour scheme). And Dokludi hasn't noticed, that white liftarm where wheels are mounted to is moved relative to the black one for half stud. (and spaces between wheel and white connectors have to be smaller). Further I think that crane is too far from cabin. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) I think Waler'ss 42031 is closer to the actual thing... Was hoping for the small turntable below the crane, but i guess it is quite obvious it is not there... I wonder if there will be a reverse engineering contest this year on TechnicBricks, since the smaller model are more or less "revealed". Fernando? Edited September 17, 2014 by MajklSpajkl Quote
Waler Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Was hoping for the small turntable below the crane, but i guess it is quite obvious it is not there... At the first time I was trying to put a small turntable but It can't be there. Everything because the worm gear. This connector has a place for an axle on top of it instead of turntable where you have a place for pin. The connector hasn't got that many plastic around X hole than turnable where you have O hole. The worm gear will touch it and won't spin. That is the reason why they used connectors instead of turntable. Quote
Saberwing40k Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) My impressions of the sets: 42039: Large, and excellent model. Color scheme is pleasingly unusual. We get, in terms of new parts, new fender pieces, in green and black, as well as new 3x9 wing panels in green. Also, we get the 3x11 flat panels in green for the first time. For functions, this model has independant suspension all around, and HOG steering, as expected. It also has a mystery knob on the side, which is probably to lift the body. Hopefully, it does not lead to a boring 2 way function splitter which we are all tired of, with the model instead having a v10 model engine connected to a 5+r gearbox. One minor gripe is that they did not use the 42000 wheels, although this may change. 42038: Weird orange tracked thing. As far as I can see, no new parts, but lots of parts never before seen in orange, including the super small wing panels, and 3×11 panels. The 42000 rear hubs are used as the main supports of the drive sprockets. Functions include live axle suspension, and the 2 segment crane. I'm definately getting this. 42037: Another weirdly colored set. The lime green and light blue parts are welcome. Oddly, this model has independant suspension, even though a live axle setup would be more appropriate. Also, it should have had the new Tumbler wheels instead. Luckily, it looks to have four wheel drive. Please, Lego, let it be so? 42036: More light blue, and red, but no red #3 connectors. Aside from the colors, rather boring. 42035: A cute little dump truck with new tapered panels in yellow. Likely has steering, dumping, and a single cylinder engine, though that is proably only driven by one rear wheel. 42034: Meh pullback, not interesting. 42033: Rocket car pull back, a first. Lots of white, and some dark blue panels. Might this mean that those parts are not going to remain exclusive to 41999? 42032: Excellent white tracked Bobcat style loader. Can lift and tilt the bucket, as well as open and close the grating over it. Lots of functions for such a small set. 42031: It's a cute lil truck. Edited September 17, 2014 by Saberwing40k Quote

Meatman Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) One minor gripe is that they did not use the 42000 wheels, although this may change. Those look like the wheels (size wise) from the 42000, but If you are referring to the tires, I think they are too big for a model of this scale. Edited September 18, 2014 by Meatman Quote
Lakop Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 is it me or do some of those images remind anyone else of something you may have seen before, probably on this site. One of those images reminds me of something I built a few months ago. H Quote
jorgeopesi Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 The dumper reminds me mine but Lego someday had to build one so... Small dumper http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=94624&hl=dumper#entry1873760 Quote
aol000xw Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Well it's hard for something made of Lego not to remember to the exact same thing made at roughly the same scale of Lego too. Yeah Mr obvious here. Quote

XAxles Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 lego.gizmodo.com has an article about the sets. The Long-Distance Racer is a 2012/13/14-spec LMP1 model, much like the Audi R18 e-tron quattro. There are also two pullback-powered sets. They're part of a 121-set mega-rumor that's setting off hype/party alarms on reddit. And I've seen the watermarked boxes. Don't worry, though, my mind has been wiped. Quote

XAxles Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 You're a little late I admit, I would have said it far, far, earlier. And minus the article reference.Judging from the well-designed cockpit and headlights, this'll be a pretty large set. And with Le Mans rising in popularity, I think it's high time for LEGO to make an LMP1 car. Though, green/black/white. Dyson Racing? Or recolored Rebellion Racing? Hi Axles, Please don't make a habbit of posting "news" while the entire topic is devoted to the new sets! Oh, sorry, sir. My excitement must have went up unchecked. The pictures have been posted here before Ehhh... but yeah, I've seen them. Quote
Meatman Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) ^^^ I think the point those guys were making is that the new set pictures have been getting discussed for the past 5 pages in this thread for almost a week and you basically described what everyone had already known. Maaboo the Witch Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I don't actually think there's been a Technic quarry truck before (with the possible exception being 42030's B-model), so at least 42035 is something relatively new. That and 42038. Quote
shimon Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Ok. so first of all good job to Dokludi and Waler for the reverse engineering attempt on the 42031. secondly it is clear that the turntable part is wrong, they use "Technic, Pin Double with Axle Hole" with "Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Perpendicular Double " also the roof of the cabin doesnt contain 2 5L axles but one at the front and an interesting combination on the back(as seen from the black pin pointing out) the seats clearly have a new part as seen which is like "Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Pin Hole " but an inversed verion ( the plate is pointing out rather clearly) the brick has the new 1X2 slope and 1X1 tile with 1X2 plate at the back the interesting question is the 0.5 studs offset. in my opinion the easiest way is to add double Technic, Pin Double with Axle Hole with Pin Long with Friction Ridges Lengthwise and Center Pin Hole but maybe there are aother ways. as for the roof there might be a chance for a new part because i cant yet think of a combination that would satisfy the picture. as for the 42032. in the picture the right side of the bucket arm is detached(angle between two white beams) also there are some more mistakes with the parts but overall its a nice attempt. looking forward for better pictures. Peace. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 As for the roof shimon, I hope you are right - I'm thinking 1L pin with stop bush, such piece would be most welcome, at least I wished for it quite often while building... Quote
