Jim Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I have created a separate topic for discussing Reverse Engineering: Your opinion on Reverse Engineering new Sets Quote
Noisemaker Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I watched the confidential images of the new sets and...nothing exceptional imho. The only one which I really like is the 42039 even if I will wait for more details about it to give any positive or negative feedback. I was a little bit disappointed about the 42035 because I though about a larger scale truck... :( Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) I too must admit that the line-up doesn't fill me with excitement, apart from 42038. Also, I'd like to add that I thought the "Dump Truck" would be a larger version of the truck seen in 42023. Or a hauler. Still, like I said before, it's something kind of new. rollermonkey Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So, are these just the 2015 1H sets, or was this year's split only due to the LEGO movie messing up waves all over the place? Quote
Freekysch Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Hmm, the bike is interesting but the color scheme is rather weird. Maybe the stickers will make it look better. Other then that, i am waiting for further images / better images. Quote
_Cookie_ Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) If those pics are the real deal, then i have decided already :D 42031 - no 42032 - no 42033 - maybe - yeah it's pull back, but i like the narrow design 42034 - no 42035 - no 42036 - maybe - looks simple, but i like the colors 42037 - no - looks half finished to me 42038 - yes - sth. new? atleast i haven't seen sth. like that 42039 - yes - greeeeeen :D Edited September 25, 2014 by _Cookie_ Quote

I mean, Le Mans is the more "in" racing. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I'm going to try something daring and guess who designed what set. Here goes! 42031 - Aurelien Rouffiange! 42032 - Michael Jeppesen! 42033 - Alfred Pedersen! 42034 - Aurelien Rouffiange! 42035 - Markus Kossman! 42036 - Aurelien Rouffiange! 42037 - Lars Thygesen! 42038 - Jeppe Juul Jensen! 42039 - Uwe Wabra! Phew! Wonder if I've guessed any correctly? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) What about Grohl? I very much doubt that the technic designers make more than two models each in the first quarter. Edited September 26, 2014 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) What about Grohl? I very much doubt that the technic designers make more than two models each in the first quarter. Sounds credible. I don't know what sets Grohl HAS designed, to be fair. Since I'm not familiar with his work as a result, I couldn't guess what he would have designed for this list, if anything. Does anyone know what he's designed in the past? Edited September 26, 2014 by Maaboo35 Quote
Meatman Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Didn't he design that little helicopter for this year? Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Didn't he design that little helicopter for this year? Yep. Just checked. Hm. Thought it was Aurelien Rouffiange. Well, now I know. Looking at this set, though, I'm not sure the design techniques tally with anything from the new wave. If I had to guess, I'd pick 42031 or 42036 for Grohl's design. To be honest, a few are hard to pin down; I've just wildly guessed for all of them, though. I hope a few are right. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Didn't he design that little helicopter for this year? Yeb he did. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 As Grohl posted on his FB page he officialy designed theA and B model for 42020, B model of 42022, B model for 42028 and B model for 42023 - I guess one of top reasons for him getting that dream job was his very good alternative building skills - he posts a lot of alternate builds for many creator sets also... Conchas Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 How if 42023 Construction Crew does not have a B-model ? Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) How if 42023 Construction Crew does not have a B-model ? Well obviously it does, it is right here on the official Technic web site, and Grohl posted it on his FB page - it's a Scraper. Could it be that you of all have missed it Conchas? I didn't check out if it only uses pieces from the yellow loader or also parts from other two vehicles... Edited September 26, 2014 by MajklSpajkl Quote

zux Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Check out the posters at the very beginning. You'll notice pimped 42029 and upcoming Le-Mans in some kind of pitstop. Quote

Wow, that LeMans poster is so hot!!! No doubt the model will look awesome!!! I like the whole video as well, even though I won't be buying the loader. I wish TLG made more such videos. Did you see the 2015 Dumptruck in the foreground @ 0:20 and @ 5:03 Edit: Can anybody identify the car in the background next to the 42008 @ 0:43? Edited September 27, 2014 by Cumulonimbus Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Plus it would be great to motorize..... This is why we need new buggy motors! What's the point in a slow racing car? Quote
