GoldVillage Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) It seems like not much room for pneumatic ;( I was really looking forward to some big (or new even longer) cylinder set... Me too! having a new big forklift as the flagship would be a nice excuse for some new very long pneumatic cylinders ;) but i guess that ship has sailed...(!) I did some measurements, the 42004 box (mini backhoe) has the same dimensions length and width - 26 x 19 cm, as the coming 42035 dump truck, but for the thickness the 42004 box is only 60 mm while the 42035 is 77 mm according to that list. rm8 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Checked box sizes of past years 42031 - Platform - 15.7 x 14 x 0.61 cm, Ages 7-14 (42020, 42001) - very small 42032 - Compact Track Loaders - 26.2 x 14 x 0.48 cm, Ages 8-14 (42010, 42011) 42033 - Action Rocket Car - 26.2 x 14 x 0.48 cm, Ages 7-14 (42010, 42011) 42034 - Action Quad - 28.2 x 14 x 0.61 cm, Ages 7-14 -cant find such box sizes in the past. It is thicker than previous action set. May it is because of larger tires on quad 42035 - Dump truck - 26.2 x 19 x 0.77 cm, Ages 9-16 (8046) 42036 - Street Motorcycle - 35.4 x 19 x 0.70 cm, Ages 9-16 (42007, 42022) - the same size as previous bikes:) 42037 - Formula Off-Roader - 28.2 x 26 x 0.70 cm, Ages 9-16 (42005, 9393) - too small for tumbler tires. Wheels will be 68 mm max IMHO 42038 - Arctic Tracked Vehicle - 48 x 28.2 x 0.74 cm, Ages 10-16 (42023, 42024) 42039 - Long-Distance Race Car - 48 x 37.8 x 0.94 cm, Ages 11-16 (42008, 42000) - hope designers used Tumbler tires here Edited August 28, 2014 by rm8 Quote
Boulderer Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 0.XXcm dimensions for the boxes cannot be correct. Quote
Balrog Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 All issues of plurals in this topic until now are just translation errors. I checked the genuine German text and it's singular. Exactly! Just wanted to say this as well. Stupid complicated german language :D Always good for some confusion. E.g. Langstrecken-Rennwagen basically translates to "long distance racecar". But in German, Rennwagen can be either racecar or racecars. There is no difference in the word, it's all context. The same goes for "Raupenlader". But it's a safe bet to talk about singular in all cases here. Quote
efferman Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 the compat tracked loader should be something like this Quote
jantjeuh Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Here's hoping the new race cars use the new tires of the Tumbler, as others pointed out. Should bring the prices down. Edited August 28, 2014 by jantjeuh Quote
Thirdwigg Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Here we go. Always an interesting topic, but as others have said, the parts are more interesting (and more often purchased) than the sets. Quote
Ondra Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 http://www.thebrickf...umored-set-list Another list Compact Tracked Loader (42032) – 29.99 Record Breaker (42033) – 34.99 Quad Bike (42034) – 34.99 Mining Truck (42035) – 39.99 Street Motorcycle (42036) – 59.99 Formula Off-Roader (42037) – 99.99 Arctic Truck (42038) – 139.99 24 Hours Race Car (42039) – 199.99 24 hours race car, so its clear that we get some kind of lemans type of car.Im cant wait to see first photos. JGW3000 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Ondra, is that US dollars, Euros or some other currency. I can't see 42032 and 42033 being pull-back racers then if these are dollar prices, as the 4 previous pull-backs have all been US$20. Quote
jantjeuh Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Someone invent a time machine, I'm insanely curious about 42039. Hopefully it uses four of the new Tumbler tires. Quote
syy89 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 The link says New Zealand dollars, so that would put the pull back racers on par with this year's. So it sounds reasonable. Quote
allanp Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) It's that time of year again and I love the anticipation but as others have said, it's not anticipation for the sets so much as it is for the parts and functionality. So what new parts could we be getting? For most of the sets it's hard to predict outside of new pins, axles and random connectors so the most interesting for me to speculate on is the 24 hour race car. Being a large scale road car we could hopefully get a proper transmission this time. We could get clutch gears in more sizes and a stronger diff and larger 8880 style CV joints that can take more torque and give greater steering angles and hubs with low friction like the new ones but less wobblyness. Whilst tumbler tyres would be cool, personally I hope we DON'T get those because it means we will also get tiny wheel hubs witch prevent having the steering pivot being where it should be and decently proportioned steering/suspension geometries and all that stuff that's been said before. I would rather have a new very low profile tyre with a new large wheel hub that is also very deep so there is lots of space inside it for all the steering geometry goodness. And also, this time make it look like an actual real life wheel. Edited August 28, 2014 by allanp Quote
MrTekneex Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) So: Compact Tracked Loader (42032) – 18.89 € Record Breaker (42033) – 22 € Quad Bike (42034) – 22 € Mining Truck (42035) – 25.2 € Street Motorcycle (42036) – 37.79 € Formula Off-Roader (42037) – 62.99 € Arctic Tracked Vehicle (42038) – 88.20 € 24 Hours Race Car (42039) – 125.99 € Edited August 28, 2014 by MrTekneex Quote

allanp Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Nice find. I guess they will be creator like sets. Quote
Rishab N Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I like the sound of that racecar! Another person hoping for Tumbler tires here. I think those Lego supercars will be in scale with the old racers ferrari sets like 8671 Quote
Seasider Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) An LMP would be nice but if everyone thinks it'll be on tumbler tyres sure that's more likely to bring about a NASCAR due to the dishing of the tyres. Or perhaps it's a gt3 Le Mans car like a corvette or viper ? Edited August 28, 2014 by Seasider Quote
Ondra Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Old lemans racecars have huge tyres like for example porsche 917. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/07/2006FOS_1970Porsche917KGulf.jpg Quote
Paul Boratko Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Funny, I had heard last year that there was going to be a track racecar coming out and I thought that it was for 2014... I think I even posted about it in last year's 2014 Technic thread...Edit: Found the thread... http://www.eurobrick...ic=85899&st=900 The thought of a tank never even crossed my mind... I was thinking something more along the lines of this: I wonder if this was something that was finished last year and was put on hold for this year or what...? Or maybe just in developement... Maybe this is for a different discussion, but I also found this interesting. LEGO Supercars 2015 75899 – LaFerrari 75908 – 458 Italia GT2 75909 – McLaren P1 75910 – Porsche 918 Spyder 75911 – McLaren Mercedes Pitstop 75912 – Porsche 911 GT Finish 75913 – F14 & Scuderia Ferrari http://www.neoape.co...5-sets-roundup/ These will probably end up being those small cars that Lego has been doing... Paul Boratko Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Wonder if the Arctic tracked vehicle will follow the same color scheme as the System sets..? Would be cool to have more orange parts... Quote
Richard Dower Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 The Arctic Tracked Vehicle....maybe another version of the 8294 B model? http://brickset.com/sets/8294-1/Excavator If 42039 Long Distance Race Car is indeed the 1h flagship, I wonder if it will go the route of 8070 in terms of functionality, or if they will actually put a proper gearbox in it. Some interesting sets here otherwise. I am very curious about the Arctic Tracked Vehicle. If we get another snow groomer then I'll be more than happy. Quote
JDC Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Sorry to break it to you guys, but the box sizes are actually the sheet cardboard sizes before die cutting. These are all going to be just Minifigs for 2015! Quote
Saberwing40k Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Sorry to break it to you guys, but the box sizes are actually the sheet cardboard sizes before die cutting. These are all going to be just Minifigs for 2015! I dunno about that. I think the dimensions just got mixed up. After all, lego boxes are made out of pretty consistently thick cardboard, right? Also the dimensions that are .91 cm would equate to 9 mm, which is way too thick. Quote
