davidmull Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Where did the Mercedes rumour come from? Also is it a truck or excavator? Must have missed this somewhere! Quote
DrJB Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 That would be a bummer. I still don't understand why they re-released the Race Truck. Keep in mind that such truck is a good collection of parts ... especially the large black panels (5x) Quote
aol000xw Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 what does the permutation say? 10E8 ways of putting six 2x4 bricks together? On that basis alone, it'd be hard to put a cap on 'ideas'. That only means there are many ways of building a yellow mobile crane Since 8455 -11 years old- every couple years there is a model with 2-3 pneumatic cylinders. and zero flagship pneumatic sets since. but in less than that we got 3 mobile cranes. How is that possible? Budget oriented building is probably hampering development. Furthermore I reckon big half empty orange boxes for example signal a too big influence from the marketing department. All in all I think 2014 had somewhat "innovative" models, Cargo plane and Construction crew come to mind. For 2015 there is 42038 and 42039, although changes to 42039 from beta pics highlight how subtle compromises can take quite a bit from a set. Is there stagnation in the "technic" part of Technic sets? I wonder how many new molds did they make for the Lego Movie sets and how many for Technic? Quote
Ondra Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Where did the Mercedes rumour come from? Also is it a truck or excavator? Must have missed this somewhere! Did you see mercedes benz excavator anywhere in real life?So it is high probality that this will be truck .Mercedes benz came from Waler from Lugpol. This is something that better not be joking, so I think it is true.If not credibility will be lost instantly . andythenorth Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) I am shocked that they repeated the Unimog so soon. The last one (with a a crane) was introduced in 1989, and then one before that just in 1981 (with the same snowplough + tipping bed idea). The latest one just puts the crane + snowplough idea together, and doesn't even have a tipping bed. And now we might have another Mercedes thing? I am ashamed. Ondra Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Mercedes isnt only unimog, there are also actros, antos, arocs, atego, econic and zetros. But unimog is well known MB truck(Chassis with supension is 50% of fun with this set. )So there is probability from MB to promote euro 6 unimog very high. Quote
zux Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 If we are speaking about MB it better be G-class, I don't want another MB truck. Don't get me wrong, other trucks are good too, but I don't see a reason getting into rest of MB line other than Unimog, which is iconic. Quote

Ondra Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) G will be hardly as set, there are not attachements for it and designers hardly will do route with gearboxes and locking diffefentials.Maybe RC set is possibility for future. And why not remake of 8285.Some kind of european heavy duty town truck with poseable crane. Also in fire truck livery. Two hits by one shot! Edited December 11, 2014 by Ondra Quote
Richard Dower Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 If they do make a flagship i want the part count to be in the 1800-2000 part range, lots of detail...no gaps or sections that look half done. 8285 was superb because it had a high level of detail and nice use of three primary colours: Black, Red and Metallic Silver. The colours and how they were placed worked, trying to do a flagship with 1200 parts and just piling on panels is NOT a flagship make. Quote
N-4K0 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 If the Mercedes rumor is true, I hope for a MB-trac, I like tractors more than trucks The MB-trac is old and wouldn't really promote anything, if promotion is the intention behind a possible Mercedes set, but one can hope. Quote
Epic Technic Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Wouldn't it be awesome if MB released their new model and lego released a set of that model to unveil the new MB model! I know a bit complicated. Quote
MikeTwo9398 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I think that the new Mercedes will be a fomula 1 race car. If I look here at Brickshop.nl there is a new Theme coming next year "LEGO Speed Champions". The already made room for a box worth 240 euro. Quote

Nope, this is only collection of all speed champions sets in one bactch.Open that link and you will see. Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 However, Technic does seem to echo other themes - especially City sets. City gets Arctic, Technic gets arctic, many construction sets seem to have a Technic version issued in the same or following year. So, if there are Speed Champions this year, perhaps a Technic super car this year or next? Quote
Richard Dower Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 ^ or...TLG could do what they did with the Racers sets. Use that line to release branded sets like all the Ferrari models they released. These are essentially Technic sets just under the Lego Racers brand. Quote
zux Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 So, if there are Speed Champions this year, perhaps a Technic super car this year or next? So yeah ... we are getting Le-Mans type car in 1H2015? Quote
AssembleToDissasemble Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 (edited) I seriously think that we'll be getting a 1:10th scale LaFerrari or a 918 sometime in the future, à la 8653. What I'd really like to see is a 1:8th scale model of either one of those cars but unfortunately that'll never happen. I'm really hoping these Mercedes Rumors turn out to be an Actros dump truck. I'm sick of crane trucks. Edited December 16, 2014 by AssembleToDissasemble Quote

Meatman Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Just got home and there was a package of new parts waiting for me.... I called up Lego to order parts last week and they said they were not taking part orders until next month unless they were replacement/broken parts. And they couldn't even give me an actual date.
