Corvette3 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 (edited) It seems odd for another Merc thing, i fell like we are gonna get a Unimog rerelease, although the set was well liked something too similar seems like an odd choice, then again i have no idea what it is either, is this rumour about it being Mercedes confirmed? jantjeuh Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Multiple sources have confirmed a Mercedes-themed set, yes. Quote
just2good Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 (edited) Okay, so I got two set names and numbers. LEGO Technic 42042 Crane LEGO Technic 42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 (pretty sure that was the set from yesterday) Edited December 24, 2014 by just2good Quote
Conchas Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 It makes all the sense! So we get a companion for this year's Volvo and gives a push on sales. Hopefully they will have similar scales. Remember the trucks on the LEGO World Copenhagen, that kids were playing with the Volvos? http://www.technicbricks.com/2014/02/new-media-from-legoworld-dk.html Just hope the Mercedes does not have less than 4 motorized functions. That's the minimum. And we should get a huge amount of panels this time... Wondering about which color will it be! A still hoping for a third set... Can it be 42040? Quote
efferman Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Arocs 3245, if this is correct, it is sure that it is a 4 axle truck. So nearly everything is possible. A tractor unit, a tipper truck or a tow truck. Quote
Interceptor Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 (edited) Hope for a concrete mixer version. But most likely it will be a dumper or a crane truck. Edited December 26, 2014 by Interceptor Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 (edited) I kind of hope its a Arocs version of the crane truck from a few years ago as it was only in the US for 3 months. Like the one Bruder toys has withe the attachments for the crane. Edited December 24, 2014 by LEGOMAN132 Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Hope its a tipper! Would go awesome along with the volvo. Quote
Siegfried Meyer Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Yes tipper would be great ,but in orange Quote
paul_delahaye Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 A grab truck / tipper truck with a grab loader/Hiab would be awesome! Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I hope the truck has actual 8x8 wheel drive and dual rear wheels just like the real thing. Quote
AndroTech Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 ... and silver colour .... so we can get bunch of parts in silver grey colour .... ... on the other hand ... orange would fit perfect with 8110 Unimog ... Quote
rollermonkey Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Forget the LeMans car! That B-Model is gorgeous! If the M-B set is an Arocs 3245, it would be a crime if it wasn't an 8X8 Tipper... Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 3000 pieces and $230 seems like a lot for just a tipper. My guess is something more complex, like a tow truck. It might be about time for a worthy successor to 8285. And silver color would be fantastic! Octan colors with bright green, red, and white would be kinda neat as well. Quote
Appie Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Considering the mass production of orange parts for 1H sets, I wouldn't be surprised if that Mercedes did end up orange. Which is fine with me Quote
Ondra Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 This is great christmas present to see this beautiful truck as main set for 2015 .Cant wait to see how it turn as lego set and with which extension it will come. At this moment . Quote
demitri Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 42040 Fire plane 42042 Crawler crane 42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 Quote
weavil Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 But Volvo has more pieces(Plus one big shovel) and wide variety of PFmotors than last RC technic sets.Maybe there is also license fee, who knows. In the Volvo, I believe it was the power functions that made it so expensive. When I was debating on buying it, i totaled up the cost for the pf alone and it was almost half of the cost. so it was the pf that made it so expensive for the smaller part count That's what I said when it came out. The amount of PF parts, plus the bucket, and the license = a high retail price. It has been talked about HERE. If you don't have all of those PF parts or want to add to MOC'ing resorces, then it's a fair buy. But this is about 2015, and I might get a few of the 1H models. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 42040 Fire plane 42042 Crawler crane 42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 Nice to see a plane again I assume it will bet a flying boat like a PBY. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Here is me thinking all second half sets had to rhyme....plANE, crANE, I wonder if we will see any pictures leaked today? As per 2 Christmas ago? Quote
therealjustin Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 An Arocs would be nice but being the supercar fan that I am, the W05 or AMG GT sounds better Quote
Freekysch Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Wooow, this is great news, a new truck - hopefully like 8258 - and a crawler crane ? Sweeeet ! I need to start saving money this year :)))) Quote
