D3K Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I also noted when browsing some Mercede Arocs brochures online, that there is an option for single rear tyres, albeit of a wider variant of the ones used in dual tyre setups.. As far as I understood it, this was only an option for cement mixer trucks though.. Quote
Freekysch Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Well, it would be very nice for the Merc to have dual rear tyres, can't wait to see preliminary pics of it. On the other hand, i doubt it will have suspension if it will have dual tyres. Quote
aol000xw Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Did Lego make any dual tire before? It does not look like a cost effective decision TLG would make. Quote

MrTekneex Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) If the rumors of dual rear wheels and working suspension are true, I'm curious to see how LEGO builds the rear suspension. Not much room to work with if the truck is 17 wide with dual rear wheels. I'm curious too, especially if they are dual driven rear axles with differentials (assuming the presence of a fake engine). Zerobricks Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 You can easily add suspension on a dually, check here: Quote
MrTekneex Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) You can easily add suspension on a dually, check here: Thanks! My curiosity was about the kind of suspension: I'd like to see leaf springs system.PS: really nice model your dump truck! Stetering/dump system is clever and well done Now I go back on topic Edited January 8, 2015 by MrTekneex Quote
Richard Dower Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 so will it have 12 tyres then?....4x2 dual rear and 4 sets of single tyres for the mid and front axle? Quote
MrTekneex Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) so will it have 12 tyres then?....4x2 dual rear and 4 sets of single tyres for the mid and front axle? In the best case, but it could also have 10 or 8 tyres. Edited January 8, 2015 by MrTekneex Quote
aminnich Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 For you big fans of modding a model, here is an idea no one would have thought of. Quote
Saberwing40k Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Did anyone see the image of the prototype 42033 in the most recent issue of the Lego Club magazine? It's kind of interesting, although I'm wondering where the Bridgestone logo on the rear fin came from. Lego Technic 42033 prototype by Saberwing007, on Flickr Although it's kind of interesting to see prototypes of any kind, I wish it were of a more interesting model. Quote
Milan Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Oh man! At first millisecond my brain was telling me that his is first image of new sets! Quote

Ondra Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Interesting shell sticker on prelim of 24 hours race car, now bridgestone sticker. Maybe they wanted to implant real world companies to technic world or they use real companies logos because design of fake companies was at the start. Quote
Saberwing40k Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Oh man! At first millisecond my brain was telling me that his is first image of new sets! Sorry to disappoint you, I know everyone is impatiently waiting. Also, Maybe they just had the stickers with the logos lying around from something else, and threw them on? Just to see if it would look good with the logo? Anyway, about the dual wheels versus single debate, the question is not whether it can be done or not, as ZBLJ and others have proven it possible to have a driven rear axle with dually wheels and suspension. The real question is whether or not in can be done in a way that satisfies the sky high Lego build quality standards. Quote
That_LEGO_Guy Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 wow it's been 4 days since the last post, has a picture been seen and due to it's contents being so incredible you have all been elevated to a higher dimension? anywho, going what was previously said and all the info of the real Merc truck, the suspension seems to be a large selling point of the truck but it seems the set speculations already make it complex enough to be on par with other flagships, but then what Paul said about the wheel arches being rather high, I'm unsure , I hope it's true but it seems unlikely either way it's still great set , just hope I can afford it Quote

Cumulonimbus Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 It's really surprising that the preliminary images haven’t been leaked by now while they’re obviously going around in a group of select insiders. In other releases, once a few had seen the preliminary images, they were spreading pretty quickly soon after that. Could this new ‘behavior’ be a direct consequence of the storm of critique following the differences between the 42039 prelim and the final model? Based on previous experiences, I imagine that the models which will soon be shown in Nuremburg are pretty close to finished? Quote
davidmull Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Is race truck 42041 only available on lego shop? gevans12 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Catching up on this post, I must say I'm impressed if we are actually guna get a truck with a clamshell grab crane and a new crawler crane... I foresee only one issue...if they are putting out such big sets in 1H2015.... What' are they guna be able to do in the 2H2015 that are going to be just as spectacular? Quote
Jim Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Anyway, we're off-topic for this thread Yup. Back to 2015 I've created a new topic for the complexity discussion: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104656 Quote

PROlego Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Are the Arocs images still online? Some people have told me they could be find with a bit of research but I haven't found them after quite a bit of time of searching them. Maybe it is because I'm not English so I don't really know the best words to search. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I'm not really fussed with the Arocs model, I have to say. To be honest, none of 2H looks that great to me; the crawler crane's been done before and I'm not a fan of planes (so, so sorry, dhc6twinotter!). At least we had some okay models, like 42032 and 42035 (sorry, they're the only ones I like). Quote
