I'm not really fussed with the Arocs model, I have to say. To be honest, none of 2H looks that great to me; the crawler crane's been done before and I'm not a fan of planes (so, so sorry, dhc6twinotter!). At least we had some okay models, like 42032 and 42035 (sorry, they're the only ones I like). :sweet:

The truck will be amazing :)

Is there realy no one who can give a hint how to find the picture of set 42043? And i don't mean the hint: www.

I can't understand why there is no preliminary images like other years.

When we do see photos from the fare in Nuremberg there normally the finished model.

Because Lego have managed to lock down on this one so far? Which they're probably attending to a bit more competently than some years, because

(1) licensed set, there are possibly contractual provisions with MB about exactly how and when this is announced publicly

(2) the photo leaks of 42039 went oh so brilliantly (for non-English speakers, that's sarcasm  ). The backlash against the changes to 42039 preliminary model have likely reinforced a culture of product secrecy at TLG that had been getting a bit leakier in recent years imo.

Oh yes, the initial version looks so much better, the only thing wrong with 42039 is that the prototype was cooler. Naturally, after seeing fan's reactions, they clamped down, to make sure that there is no disappointment.

I promised not to share them :sceptic:

How do some people get to see these images and the rest of us have to wait so long? Can u give us a hint where we might find a picture?

THEN WHY EVEN BOTHER SAYING SO IN THE FIRST PLACE ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?

Seriously, my day would be a lot better if I didn't know that somebody had pics, but could not share them. Or, you could make everyone's day and send a nice PM with the pics. :classic:

Come on, use your google fu. IF there are pics out amongst the plebs, I'm sure you can locate them on some obscure russian website or similar places

Good luck  And good night (to you too David  )

Just remember one good thing that came from the refurbished 42039:

19L white soft axles!

For that alone the thing deserves more love than it is getting at the moment imo :)

As for the 42043, is the stuff usually shown at Nuremberg? If so, that's about 2 weeks away? Built something for TC6 and time will fly ;)

Eh, why _are_ you all in such a rush? Inevitably, the only thing you're going to feel when you see the images is disappointment. The set will be too big and also too small. It will contain pneumatics which are not long enough, but also not complex enough. It will have too much PF and not enough. The price will be far more than you'd ever pay but not as much as a flagship should be. Whatever colour it is, it's certainly wrong. In short, all the pictures will do is ruin your day.

So why such hurry to punch yourselves in your faces?

As so many others, I too would like to see the preliminary images. In many cases, they are spark ideas to mod the sets because often good ideas and solutions of the preliminary models get lost in the development process (42039 is one of the best examples). I like to recreate those features if I feel they make the model better. The descriptions of the 2H2015 sets so far really push all my buttons, much more than the 1H2015 sets (I haven’t bought any of those). In addition to this, I find it very fascinating to see how a model has developed.

Besides, I find it rather childish to mention “I have seen the images”, but then not share or help to find them. What is the point? I have spent some time to find the images too, even on the obscure Russian sites, but no luck so far.

Another thought: If TLG is so successful at protecting their preliminary images so far this time, is there any chance that the 2H2015 sets will be better protected at the Nuremburg fair as well? There might not even be any pictures during and after the fair.

Aww man, but I promised

edit:

In all seriousness: The descriptions that have been made so far by various sources are maybe more valuable than the actual preliminary pictures. They are low-res, super blurry and details are hardly visible at all. The only good thing is, that you get a rough first impression and I think, that both the crane and the truck are going to be super!

But also, as 42039 has shown, we should not get our hopes too high. Even with 42009, a lot of minor (but visible) changes happened between Nuremberg toyfair and the actual released set.

I respect the fact that you made a promise not to share. I highly value a (wo)man's word and I'm certainly not pushing you to break that promise.

But on the other hand, I like to decide for myself if the preliminary images are worth the view. Even blurry pictures contain a lot information about proportions, stance, color use, etc. As hinted before, the 42039 preliminary image was more valueable to me than photos of the finished set. If I ever decide to buy the 42039, it will be because of the pre-lim image.

I will shut up about this now and try to be patient for the first glimpses.

Edit: I wonder if it would be possible to share the preliminary images after other photos are available. This would still allow for the comparison, but not be a threat to TLG stakes.
