Quick, build the crane! Ruin his day

I should say now, I'm already disappointed with the crane. That's based on the pictures I've seen (none), and the replica (none). Just wanted to get that in before anyone else. :innocent:

U couldn't be more wrong. I think everyone is missing the point here that we're years looking for. LONGER pneumatics!!!!!!!

I do prefer crawler cranes on trucks......regardless how they look like......if that makes sense.....

I will probably get both, the crane and the acros. Build the truck and build the boom of the crane and combine. I just don't think the blue will go so well this the white and grey truck.

something like this...

Wait! You're saying the crawler crane has pneumatics too! That is totally unrealistic. I already wasn't going to buy it, but I'm definitely not buying it now.

Crawler cranes on trucks *oh2* Is that like Sariel's Mini on crawler tracks? :innocent:

No, it has no pneumatics. Probably only a single Mini-LA in the claw.

Well I thought this was a serious thread for information for serious collectors and serious AFOLs. It seems to just be discussion, speculation, rumours, and misunderstandings

I don't mean to be rude here but the clue is in the thread title "Technic 2015 Discussion and SPECULATION" ... Therefore you will have members discussing the rumours and of course, the speculation.

I do believe this topic is meant to be a bit of fun as well serious discussion...

awe c'mon, their has got to be someone else....

Why dont you explain to me y pneumatics are so much better then...

I could not say, they both have pluses and minuses, but in regards to representing machinery (the purpose of Technic, arguably) pneumatics are closer to hydraulics for realism purposes.

I agree, as far as aesthetic purposes go, sure pneumatics are a better representation, but their lifting/pushing ability is some what lower than the LA's, not to mention the fact that they are a lot harder to control and a lot less precise than LAs. Also due to them relying on air compression, they are subject to leaks and the piston is prone to collapse under load, ref 8421 and how even with 4 rams, the crane boom began to sink almost as soon as it was elevated due to the weight of the boom...

hmmm, seems like LAs are better. Not to mention then are more compact. with the pneumatics to be RC, you need a compressor somewhere on the model, which takes up more room.

So I think that LAs would be a better choice

I wouldn't say they were better overall just for lifting higher mass loads or for keeping booms upright etc they are the better choice. That said TLG did manage to combine pneumatics and LA's well in 42008 so who knows hopefully 42043 will see them combined just as well...we will just have to wait and see won't we..it's only what 9 days to Nuremburg now anyway then we will know once and for all

Hmm, that should be Pneumatics v3.0, not v2.0. Long pneumatic actuators are old hat anyway

Was 8843 the only set that had the long 9L single acting cylinder? I don't remember seeing it in any other set.

You peeps have been talking new pneumatics and no one wants to speculate about NEW STRINGS!

Well...

*goes back to empty corner*
