Paul Boratko Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I am just a bit disappointed... Lots of new green and blue panels... Curious what functions the 42039 has... Doesn't appear to be very many...I see a HOG and a 12 tooth black bevel gear on the side that must move something... Quote
JGW3000 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 My boy is going to love the 42033, I'm thinking my daughter is going to want the 42034, she has been aching to get into technic. Certainly 42038 and 42039 have high promise to be interesting, wonder what the B models are? Are the fenders, over the wheels, on 42039, new parts? Quote
Paul Boratko Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) Those trans-clear pieces in the headlamps of the 42039 are new... They didn't make those in trans-clear before... irispen Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Odd that there appears to be zero power functions in the whole wave, though. At least it ought to keep the prices in check a bit. For irispen, you want construction? City looks to practically be getting an entire sub-line of construction sets next year. Yup, and i am crying for happiness because of that Quote

Unless they are some strange part from a system set.... Very old SYSTEM part actually. :) Very common in trans-black but think it is a first in trans-clear. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30602 Quote

I was going to use trans-clear ones, but they didn't exist... Yet... Nice to see Lego bringing back the #3 connector in brown again after 12 years... Quote
Osuharding1 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Sadly, No obvious #3 red connectors or black 19L flex axles in those pics... Quote
Paul Boratko Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Sadly, No obvious #3 red connectors or black 19L flex axles in those pics... Yeah... I really wish Lego would bring back styling packs... But in different colors... Quote
rumpletump Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I reckon the little dump truck is quite tidy and has the new panels so I will get that one. The arctic vehicle is quite unique I'll probably get one of those too and a Le Mans car. not sure about the rest.... Some odd colors this time that's for sure Quote
Paul Boratko Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 For as low to the ground as that 42039 is, I am willing to bet that it doesn't have any type of suspension at all... Lego wouldn't let one of their models "Bottom Out" Quote
Lemon Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) I'm curious about the new mudguards of the 42039. If you look closely, the front pieces are not the same as the backpieces. Its missing a vertical part in the front (at the A from IMAGE). The part itself does not seem very rigid in comparison with previous pieces and no mounting points can be seen. The ''83'' sticker is from set 41999, so the model might not be final either. The piece also resembles two of these parts joined together: http://rebrickable.com/parts/61070 . Paul Boratko Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Some rare orange liftarms in the Arctic vehicle.. Some are rather expensive on bricklink... 1 x 11 liftarm only ever came in one set... Quote
Paul B Technic Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 It is always good to see the first images :) Nothing really jumps out to me :( Quote
efferman Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the pictures. look at crane of the arctic vehicle, does it have a 3l liftarm without crossholes? I think there is one at the knuckle of the crane (Edit: oops, iam dumb! it is a simple thick 3 hole liftarm and so it is a simple frictionless 3l pin) Edited September 15, 2014 by efferman Quote

I think there is one at the knuckle of the crane edit: and is the pin on it something like this? That liftarm is really a mistery, but I don't think they made a new type of pin, i think it is only a regular halfpin and the strange liftarm is on one side only. It would be great to have such pins though! Edited September 15, 2014 by MajklSpajkl Quote
efferman Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 i see the same liftarm on the other side too Quote
rm8 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) 42039 leman Are the panels on the nose of LeMan 42039 Light Bluish Gray? I see 3x11 long curved panel that is lighter thank Black bumper. New 3x11 and curved 3x11 green panels. About suspension: I see 2 yellow points on the line between front mudguards. I think it uses hard shock absorbers with A-type suspension arms (new snowmobile arms are too woobly). But amplitude of suspension is limited - may be only 1 stud. Small 12 black gear on the right side is manual bonnet (behind the cockpit) lift with fake engine inside. Waht else can be lifted: spoiler, cockpit roof? Or may be there is a gearbox between engine and wheels? This set is nice panels set. 42034 quad Is the front mudguard new part? 42036 sportbike New color medium blue curved panels 3x11 and 3x5. 42037 buggy Suspension is similar to 42029: A-arms with 42000 hubs at front and thin liftarms with hub at rear. Engine is flat 4 like in 9397. HoG. Hope that steering wheel is connected to steering system. 42038 arctic New 3x11 panel in orange in the front. Both axles live using Unimog ball joint with 2 links each side. I see that triangular tracks can be exchanged to wheels of 68 or 83 mm size. BUt there is no any differentials and fake engines in this model. Free rotating of wheels/tracks like in 42005 Edited September 15, 2014 by rm8 Quote
efferman Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) 42039 Yes it seems 42034 i think it is a panel number 1 and 2 Edited September 15, 2014 by efferman Quote
rm8 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 42034 i think it is a panel number 1 and 2 Yes, you are right:) Quote
Cumulonimbus Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 These first images of the new sets make me very happy: Interesting and recognizable models, exciting color combinations, hints of new parts, no unnecessary PF, etc. Can't wait to see more details like the functions of the LeMans car and the engine of the motorbike. Quote
zweihander Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 i see the same liftarm on the other side too I think the outermost liftarm on the crane is this part. Don't think they made it in white before though. So the crane 'elbow' is something like this in my guess: Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Good guess erelender! I think you got it. Quote
Balrog Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Erelender, I don't think the part is white in the picture. I think it is light bluish grey. Quote
Rockbrick Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Is it me or are the city sets more exciting this time round? The le mans style one is nicer than expected, but too green - the arctic truck is a winner... very risky and as mad a box of gerbils... welcome back to not playing it safe lego...! The buggy is a bit dissapointing but useful for parts and the smaller technic models are rather good for technic beginners... Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 The Arctic Vehicle and Tracked Loader look great. Wonder how the PF works on 42038; from the looks of it, it's used to drive the crane. Quote
