well if I do buy the set, they will be for sale, because I will convert everything to LAs

Not sure if that'd be possible. The crane arm seems to have 3 sections that are pneumatically controlled. You're either going to have to make one of the functions manual or add another gearbox on top of the turntable. Either way it's going to get ugly.

Also Dokludi did an amazing job on that replica. How on earth did he manage that?

Brickset report goes out at 21.30 UK time btw. That's kind of...now

2700 parts? 1200 pins, 28 pneumatic T pieces. That's good and bad: I'm low on pins (no really), but I have about 200 T pieces :innocent:

Thanks 1974. It's interesting to read that the two guys reporting both said the technic sets stood out as being the best with Huw saying 42043 being the set best at the entire show.

He is a wizard. All earthly explanations are futile. We mortal men should not think about such things, only obey our master ..

Then they'd need to be inside the truck body. And it's not likely TLG are gonna do them in black (no red parts sticking out that I can see), so I guess the outriggers will be very conventional (and I very much dislike that hand operation of the final stage of the outriggers)

I agree with you on this, that new red slider part is very bulky and I can't see there being room for it inside the truck with all its other functions. Yep, the final stage of the outriggers seems to be a worm gear and probably an 8 tooth gear.

You can call me Ole

No, that just means the rest we're really crappy, haha

That divers theme sounds decent, but I'm sure it won't hold a candle to Aquanauts!

Sets are getting rather expensive (Jurassic World + SW) again ..

Yeah, i'll wait until I see that truck in the flesh, but for now I think it looks rather drab .. cranearm looks boss though, best one TLG ever did.

To be fair, we have no idea how close his replica is. It looks the same but the inside could be entirely different. I hope it is, I see LAs on his version

I can see these long cylinders fetching a reasonable price on bricklink, but not that much!

It was obviusly a joke, two of them will cost you as much as a new set.

That's pretty certain. I also don't think they'll deploy horizontally with pneumatics

What's that wierd yellow bit at the first rearwheel of the truck? Front maybe true to Mercedes, but I think the grill looks broken

Also, I don't think there'll be any suspension

No idea, I've been trying to figure that out too. Best guess is that it's part of the outrigger and that it's just an illusion. I too think the Cab is pretty ugly tbh, The grill, those panels that stickout, the lights... it's just not clean enough.

Same as that. I can't figure out what the yellow piece is either. It doesn't seem to be part of the outriggers and looks more like it's between the rear wheels! I do think Dokludi has given quite an accurate representation of the outside of it, based on the blurry images he had to work off, so fair play to him! The front looks fairly accurate to the box and so does the tipper part and the jib. Obviously there are new parts that he can't use, like that new piece for the extension on the jib, longer cylinders etc, but it's anyone's guess as to the workings of the model inside.

Just flicking through Dokludi's photo gallery on brickshelf there and it seems he was able to fit suspension in the front and some sort of a fake V engine too. Can't see if there is suspension in the back axles though.
