Balrog Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I personally like the tracked vehicles best in this wave and probably get both. They seem to be nice sets not only through parts and color, but from set design as well. I also like the design of 42039. But I am not yet sold to this. But I like the color scheme a lot. The other sets seem kind of meh. I don't like pullback racers in general and the dump truck and platform truck don't have that much appeal to me. I have written a blog post with more detailed opinions. If you want, you can find it here: Click Quote
GoldVillage Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Good job finding these pics! 42031 looks horrible, 32 looks very good, 33 and 34 looks... well ok, pullbacks (not my thing) 35 looks strange, especially the bed is way off since it is tilted inwards, it shouldnt, it should be flat and horizontally at the top. 36 looks very nice, 37 looks good too, 38 looks like an alien spaceship, 39 looks best of them all But bear in mind that these are preliminary images... just an example, look how much the 42023 got changed: http://s8.postimg.org/eauzo10th/42023.jpg Quote
andythenorth Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Loving most of these. Have been having a break (stacking up too much lego in cupboards, where's the joy in that?), but plenty next year to like. 42031 - crane is ugly, truck is awesome. These tiny models are often really fun to play with. My kids will like it. The two pull-backs - bit of variation, both look good. Pull-backs are an easy thing to buy and let kids race with. 42035  Only hoping that this is a mini-model pre-figuring a much bigger flagship hauler sometime... 42037 - love bouncy trucks, colour scheme is unusual, appealing. 42038 - spectacularly ugly Looks really fun though. Guesses on the B-model? 42039 - looks fricking awesome. And all the green Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I think the bobcat is a new adidtion to the theme. Are those new curved panels on the quad? I'm not too sure about "cut! 5x10 panels, they look like they are used only once... Bike's color scheme is not tthe prettiest, I think orange and blue would be better. We got another smillar scale and simillar functioned SUV model? Notice the light blue #4 connectors The arctic behicle is my fav of the bounch, seems to have working live axle suspension. The racer also looks awesome, nice to see new fender pieces. Could use more red to make the OCTAN syled paint job What happened to PF? Hope its not being discountinued??? Quote
Ondra Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) This is a great wave so many interesting and great looking vehicles, looking forward to Le Mans car and arctic vehicle, they are something that we never seen in lego before. Edited September 15, 2014 by Ondra Quote
Richard Dower Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) The LBG panels were only ever used in one set, 7160 Drop Ship: http://www.bricklink...nv.asp?S=7160-1 It also has two panel tyoes in LBG....very rare and uique panels only found in this set. 42039 leman Are the panels on the nose of LeMan 42039 Light Bluish Gray? I see 3x11 long curved panel that is lighter thank Black bumper. New 3x11 and curved 3x11 green panels. About suspension: I see 2 yellow points on the line between front mudguards. I think it uses hard shock absorbers with A-type suspension arms (new snowmobile arms are too woobly). But amplitude of suspension is limited - may be only 1 stud. Small 12 black gear on the right side is manual bonnet (behind the cockpit) lift with fake engine inside. Waht else can be lifted: spoiler, cockpit roof? Or may be there is a gearbox between engine and wheels? This set is nice panels set. 42034 quad Is the front mudguard new part? 42036 sportbike New color medium blue curved panels 3x11 and 3x5. 42037 buggy Suspension is similar to 42029: A-arms with 42000 hubs at front and thin liftarms with hub at rear. Engine is flat 4 like in 9397. HoG. Hope that steering wheel is connected to steering system. 42038 arctic New 3x11 panel in orange in the front. Both axles live using Unimog ball joint with 2 links each side. I see that triangular tracks can be exchanged to wheels of 68 or 83 mm size. BUt there is no any differentials and fake engines in this model. Free rotating of wheels/tracks like in 42005 Edited September 15, 2014 by Richard Dower Quote
Meatman Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 You know, it is so strange that Lego would make new curved panels for the 42039, but not new wheels. It looks pretty good though. Interested in the functions. I don't really like the Motorcycle's colors as they look wired. I wonder if the final version will have stickers? The little dump truck looks nice. Quote
Richard Dower Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 42039 deffo seems to have brand new curved mudguards as a new panel type. It also looks like a white 3x11 panel is used on the back, a 5x11 LBG panel on the nose along with two panels on ever seen in the 7160 Drop ship. Lots of panels in new colors we never had before, blue and green, 42037 has panels previously seen on 9393 and some other sets: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=61070&colorID=34&in=A I think 32046 uses a red 7L soft axle only seen in 3 sets: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=32580&colorID=5&in=A The dark blue curved panel was only ever used once before on 41999: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=11954&colorID=63&in=A So we get two of them with set 32033, 32038 has lots of prange panels, and those hard to find curved panels in orange are back in this set. I wonder if these curved panels as mudguards were directly inspired by what Efferman made?...he created some curved mudguards for someone to use in a 8110 MOC. Quote

I think you may be right.. It is being used on the top of the handlebars... Edit: a 7L one would be way too short to make that connection.. It is an 11L one.. Curious what size the side ones are.. They are at least 12L Edited September 15, 2014 by Paul Boratko Quote
Balrog Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Curious what size the side ones are.. They are at least 12L In 42038? My guess is 11L. But could be 12L as well. Hard to say from just this picture. Quote

tristan86 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) I am willing to bet 42039 does have suspension, I would be extremely surprised if Lego released a car of this size with no suspension. Hard suspension without much travel would be realistic Edited September 15, 2014 by tristan86 Quote

Richard Dower Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Upon revision i think the flexible soft axles in 42036 might be 11L or 12L....if so then these would also be quite rare and great to have a fresh supply of! http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=32200&colorID=5&in=A http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=32199&colorID=5&in=A Quote
Paul Boratko Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 You can also see a peak of Yellow on each side right behind the front hood which could very well be shock absorbers... Richard Dower Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 42037 appears to have the same parts/suspension system used in 42029....but i do see the Technic Link with stoppers 1x6 part # 2739b in Dark Bluish Grey...here again quite rare and really great to have a fresh supply of: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=2739b&colorID=85&in=A I thought the yellow was the engine piston?...i thought it had a 1V engine like the one mounted on 9392: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=9392-1 You can also see a peak of Yellow on each side right behind the front hood which could very well be shock absorbers... -SD- Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 The only ones I'm interested in are 36, 38 and the quite awesome looking 39. I'll leave the decision on 37 to my son. On a side note, the Creator Parrot set looks awesome. Quote

dr_spock Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 The artic vehicle looks interesting. It'll make a good compliment to my tracked 8110 Unimog. Hmm, pirates or technics. Decisions, decisions,.. Quote
Paul Boratko Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Most Likely the car is using these combined with the newer style hubs, which would explain why the yellow part of the shock is on top... With the distance between the shock travel, there is no chance of the spring getting caught on anything... It's ironic because I have been working on a new chassis that uses what will probably be a similar set-up in the front.... Quote
zux Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 That's a lot of new colored parts! 42039 probably uses Flat Silver panels in front as some of other panels have been introduced in this color as well. Otherwise these panels look more like DBG rather than LBG. 42039 is sooo cool! I already know how I'm going to recolor it Quote
