It's about time for an axle 11!

Don't like the STAMP on 39. Even on the beams in the back. Front panels are flat silver.

Motorcycle and 37 use light blue panels

37 use panels in lime. I think that is a first!

The pictures are prelimary, since they show real parts. I see small building errors and mold marks..

Okay, day 2 after the leak. Where are dokludi's reverse engineered replicas?

I actually expected him to have them ready before the leak. Disappointing. I guess he doesn't exist outside time and space, like Blakbird does.

Looking over 42038..not sure, but i **hope** the link threads are black in color, we haven't had many sets with black threads since 2009 and they have become rare and expensive pieces, if they are black then another great way to rebuild 8263: http://www.bricklink...colorID=11&in=A

I tink i also see a 7L black soft axle on the side near the cabin area, if this is true then its the first time we've had a 7L in black! http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=32580

42037 has a in line V4 engine, and new medium blue 3x11 panels. i guess this model is this years 42022 or moreso 8048.

The bucket on 42032 looks to be the same as on 42004, i would imagine this will be around the 200 piece mark and €19.99.

42034 has black panels we've already have in a recent set from 2014, but this is the first Technic set a 2nd in total: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=61070&colorID=11&in=A

The applied stickers are vomit inducing!....ugh!, 42033 has a Bionicle part in white, also seen in a 2014 set: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=61800&colorID=1&in=A

There seems to be a smal dark blue panel underneath as well, it could be a new dark blue #11946, though it could be the light and image quality and these pane;s are not dark blue like those seen on 41999.

does the dump truck (42035) have a 1-cilinder engine next to the cabin? That would be a nice surprise!

I just noticed that too. Yeah, it sticks out a little high. I wonder how many of these dump trucks have a 1 cylinder engine?

I've build some of the exterieur and 7L is definitely too short. Its either a 12 or 14L (or perhaps 11L, but I doubt it).

42038 link threads are DBG. I'm going to buy it for the orange parts, and to reward TLG for taking some risk with an 'odd' model.

Indeed....2015 is certainly risk taking, different = weird?....some bizarre color choices and panels are the new black...so to speak. Panels and colors just thrown everywhere....but i like what i see, parts fiesta!

Maybe the whining about 'everything is yellow' and 'everything is red' has paid off?

We pretty much whine about everything. After complaining about all the red models for years, now we are complaining that the red #3 connectors and the red 14L flex axles are too rare so we want more red sets.

Posted (edited)

You guy's whining is NOTHING compared to what goes on in the SW forum... Over there, people complain about pretty much EVERYTHING that TLG does and doesn't do. My 'favorite' being the omission of minifigs based on characters with like 3 seconds of screen time as background extras.

...and what he said. \/

That new dump truck (42035). Am I right that it has new panels on the back? Something like the flat panels we have now, but with a cut-off piece.

I don't imagine how that could be that useful. I mean, couldn't they just use the new small flat panels and a few slopes?

Its a new sloped panel....i guess it will allow for more decorative and finishing touches to take place. Not sure how practical it is myself.

Andd Dokludi and Waler have replicas

Dokludi's 42031 http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=547662

Waler's 42031 http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=547654

And her's dokludi's replica of 42032 http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=547663

Very nice work

Too bad, I was thinking that dokludi went for one of the bigger sets straight away. But its still nice :D I like the compact tracked excavator even more now ;)

Yes, it's a nice little set, but the back is a bit unfinished. As it is now, it needs some MOD-ding, but who knows how the model can evolve between now and 2015.

I'm not sure, but on the prelim image of the compact loader, the right side upper white beam seems to be connected to the axle forks over the bucket, not connected directly to the bucket like in dokludi's replica. I guess that would allow you to use the two vertical 'control' axles on either side to close the forks and tilt the bucket independently.

I am liking the look of the Arctic Tracker, but I hope the crane changes a bit before release. It kind of looks like an afterthought at the moment, and for such a large model I would hope to see more complexity rather than controlling the mini LAs directly on the crane arm.

You got that right! the closer white upper beam is connected to the bucket while the other one is indeed connected to the forks, as we can clearly see its way higher up than the other one. So we get two functions here.
