8BrickMario Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 We don't have Snow White. Belle, Mulan, Tiana, and Pocahontas. I'm absolutely positive we'll get the castle with Belle and prince Beast with one or two of the furniture sidekicks. Quote
Robert8 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Tiana is a special case since she is a frog almost the entire movie. The most prominent scenes where she appears as a human are the ball at the beginning, her wedding in the bayou, and the final scene in the restaurant. Among those, I think the ball scene is the most likely. She could be wearing the blue ball-gown and we could get frog-Naveen Other than that, I can't think on another set. Of course, she could get some random/silly set like Aurora's. the castle with Belle and prince Beast with one or two of the furniture sidekicks. That's the most likey IMO. Snow White in the Cottage of the Seven Dwarfs with Grumpy and Dopey is my bet. Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I wouldn't mind a Mulan in the garden set. They could give us the 'great stone dragon' that falls apart. Mushu might be difficult to depict at that size. Or we could get Mulan and her father, either at the beginning of the film or at the end. I have a feeling that a "Mulan & the Great Stone Dragon" with either Mushu or the horse would be most likely for Mulan, not that I'd mind in the least. Mulan is, after all, my favorite princess of them all. :) Quote
Robert8 Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 But Mulan is not a Princess.... as far as I can remember the Disney Movie Quote

Laura Beinbrech Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 But Mulan is not a Princess.... as far as I can remember the Disney Movie Technically speaking, she is not a princess, but she IS officially part of the Disney Princess toy line, and thus is a Disney Princess (important distinction), so she should eventually show up as part of the LEGO Disney Princess theme. ;) Quote

It's just that the stories are what we're ensured to get in future waves (perhaps adding Sofia if TLG is fine with her.), and it's even better if some other Disney stories that also interest the target market appear in this theme.Of course, the currently used stories still have room for more sets. Hope that the next wave won't keep us wait too long. Edited October 24, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
Shib Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 ^Either Anna or Elsa is being coronated (officially included in the Princesses line) this winter, so will be in line with the new set. Quote

I heard both are being coronated. They will be the 12th and 13th princesses in the line Quote
Robert8 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 But Elsa is not a Princess... she is a queen. That "Disney Princess" franchise is kinda messed up. Is Esmeralda also an official Disney Princess? Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 But Elsa is not a Princess... she is a queen. That "Disney Princess" franchise is kinda messed up. Is Esmeralda also an official Disney Princess? According to the official Disney Princess site (princess.disney.com), the official princesses currently are: Aurora, Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Merida, Tiana, Pocoantas, Mulan, Rapunzel, Jasmine, & Snow White. Elsa & Anna are to be added soon, so basically we can probably expect to see at least one set with each of them at some point Quote
Dorayaki Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) But Elsa is not a Princess... she is a queen. That "Disney Princess" franchise is kinda messed up. I think that's too strict. Remember that someone isn't even a princess so there is no need to judge that. Some other Disney princess's are also queen-to-be. (Rapunzel, Kiara and maybe Melody). Back to the point, I don't tend to assume the inclusion of Frozen set is owing to that it's possibly going to be part of the strict "Disney Princess franchise", because this answer doesn't sound helpful. I believe this story deserves to have it's own regular wave earlier. Edited October 25, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
gedren_y Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 These sets are officially slated for a January release, which would be after the coronation of new 'princesses'. Disney Princesses has more to do with the character than their title. These characters are portrayed by actresses at the Disney parks, and participate in parades. As the characters are being played by different people in different places, it is the costume that has to be recognizable in the sets. That is likely why Lego was able to get away with not creating movie accurate faces in the current sets. Quote

Man, the Disneyland parks are soon going to be pretty darn crowded with royalties. Quote

Dorayaki Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Nowadays they're almost adding 1 princess/year on average. Man, the Disneyland parks are soon going to be pretty darn crowded with royalties. And there is another one coming: Moana To be more accurate, I assume it's that Disney make at least one film featuring heroines or targetting at female audience every year. Well, I'd like to see some other ordinary heroine stories (like Wendy or Alice) not doing with royalties, though royalty stories seem to have become Disney's important property. Also, the "Disney franchise" have been very sensitive so we can't confirm that all future Disney "princess" would also get lots of spotlights. And back to LEGO, even if we're only discussing the possibility of making Elsa an "official princess", I'm not sure it's nice to see the newest addition getting a LEGO set before classic. ones, unless Frozen was made to be an independent theme/single wave. Now, if Disney buys Hasbro like many rumors are saying, then maybe it would. Quote
Dorayaki Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Hasbro has won the Disney Princess franchise away from Mattel starting in 2016Uh, we should know that Disney has been coooperating with every big name in this industry. That changes almost nothing unless Mattel MB or Hasbro KRE-O do begin to make any licesned toys for girls.Oh, and if Hasbro do please make their own MLP happen first . Quote
JerseyManiac1 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I was just informed by 2 different lego stores that these have a hard release date of January 1st. I tell you now that if I do not get this Frozen set for my daughter BEFORE Christmas day, I will never buy another Lego ever again. Atop my daughters list is Legos. I buy them for her throughout the year, and she has all she wants that is already out. There is absolutely NOTHING special about giving this to her on Janauary 1 st. Watching her unwrap it on Christmas morning however....and seeing her eyes light up....thats what parents aim for on that day. So I don't care what the reason is, license or whatever, it is completely heartless and incredibly un kid friendly to this. I got all the Princess legos before Christmas last year, so what the hell is problem for this year! But hey, if they don't want my buisness any more, fine by me. At least I have a chance with TRU ignoring the ridiculous dates like they usually do. Quote
strangely Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Usually I only ever see the Lego store actually following the release date. There's a pretty good chance they'll wind up in stores before the new year. Quote
Darth Punk Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Unless you are standing in front of the shelves while they bring out the frozen sets the likelihood of finding them is practically zero. Maybe instead of stomping your foot like a spoiled child you should teach you daughter about the real spirit of Christmas, it doesn't come from a store. Just ask the Grinch! Happy holidays! Quote

Also check your PMs every morning at 6AM EST (and throughout the day), I might be able to hook you up this week. I can tell how important this is to you. Edited December 10, 2014 by just2good Quote
