legofanatic12 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Maybe the display stand is only in selected European countries. If its in the box, maybe they will pictured the featured minifig in each box like for example if the Snake Charmer minifig is pictured in the box instead of a group of minifigs like in the blind bags, you will get it easily rather than feeling it. Just like Mixels and LEGO Friends Collectible Animals. Definitely we prefer that CMF Series should be in the blind bags. I believed that picture is a preliminary image right?? And the price is NOT confirmed yet, but the release date is on Jan 2015. Edited November 7, 2014 by legofanatic12 Quote
rodiziorobs Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) EDIT: What's up with the red letters in the box and the silver/grey thing between the Galaxy Trooper (?) and the Evil Wizard? My guess is--and this might help to answer others' questions about the packaging--that it is a removable part of the display. The red words probably say "remove this insert before merchandising" and the silver/grey thing shows how the display box is assembled. With this kind of display it is common to have an extra sheet or front to help hold items in place during shipping, that is intended to be removed by the retailer. Since this is clearly from an order catalog for next year ("Janvier-Abril 2015"), that's my theory. The image on the right is a different kind of display box with a top tray rather than shelves. In either case, it looks like everything is still in bags, no worries. From what we can see, the figs look good! I don't mind the recolors, since I didn't get into CMFs until last year so missed a lot of them. The king in particular looks like a must-have. Snake charmer and sheriff, as well. Although I am tired of all my really good Western torsos having sheriff stars on them. Edited November 7, 2014 by rodiziorobs Quote
legofanatic12 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 TRU stores are still in opened boxes with blind bags inside, but it is on the counter. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I have never seen a display merchandiser like in the images for any of the collectable minifigs.....only display stands I remember and one of was for the old impulse box sets from 2008 to 2010. From what I can see the disco diva looks a little she'll start singing I will survive ! The lawman of the wild west looks like he is about to step onto the set of Gunsmoke ! Dam, pity we can't see anymore......especially the carpenter and hot dog man......gee, I wonder if he is a hot dog vendor or a guy dressed up as in a hot dog suit ? Quote
Borex Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 My guess is that the goblin is the one hanging upside down all throughout the front of the display. Alien chtulhu, yes! Quote
badbob001 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Seems like a fair number of recycled ideas and parts. Does it look like the Space Trooper is simply the parts from the recent classic white spaceman freebie with armor bits slapped on? LEGO is getting more efficient at re-using current stock and selling the creations back at us. Maybe they get inspiration from what kids create at their LEGO store build-a-minifigure stations. Quote
SMC Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 ^ Where did you see that, cant really make out a bit of the smaller one in that picture? Quote

According to the German Toy Website, the hot dog guy will be a vendor that sells hot dogs on the streets and its not a costumed person since there's already a girl in unicorn costume. Each series has one person in every costume such as S12 has Piggy Guy and TLM Series has a Panda Guy. It does not make any sense if one series has two costumed person. Quote
SMC Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 ^ Unless they drive sales and they have all been animals not just random costumes. I would lover to see two each series, one animal and on other. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I personally entrust Tragic Banjo. Quote
8BrickMario Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 You know, the image seems preliminary due to the Snake Charmer's visible differences from the final version, unless that beard is just bad quality.. So some things may be subject to change. But it's good to have some discussion, although I am hoping that this is not a final pic, since this is so far pretty disappointing to me. Quote
Borador Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I guess this list was real. LOVE that king. New crown? I've only been wanting one of those since 2009! And is that a brown Gnome beard? Yes please! Perfect figure! The Alien is a pleasant surprise. I was expecting something repetitive, but that is certainly new. Not useful to me in the least (actually, one could repaint it and use it as an Ood), but I like it. Disco Diva is neat, but not really my thing. The same can be said for most of this series. This one is more of a "collect them all" instead of a "ooh, I could use a few of those" series. Good on its own, but I'm not too excited. Of course, these pictures are really low-res, maybe once I see better ones I'll think differently. Quote
Ardelon Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Huh, looks ike the multiquote option is on strike. Oh, well... @ Onslaght: The carpenter as Gepetto from Toths designs makes a lot of sense, intiguing idea. @ Slurpifier: I also prefer the old samurai helmet, but the new one brings a lot of options with the visor. Eh, I would take either. @ various: Why couldnt it be a hot dog seller in a hot dog suit? More opinions to come once I try to get a clearer look at the pic. Quote
badbob001 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I miss where you saw the space trooper... I thought the white-ish person between the king and the sheriff was the space trooper. But I guess that could be the paleontologist (looks like the jungle explorer from series 2). Quote
Sven F Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Not sure how these "preliminary" things normally go with LEGO, but it doesn't make sense to complete the art work and design the boxes and displays before the design of the final product is definite. Why would they do these things twice if they can do it once? I think what you see is what you'll get, not that I wouldn't like a change since i'm not too fond of what I've seen so far. Sir Brickalot Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 It can't be only me who can see boxes rather than packets in the display... Quote
SMC Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 ^ Think it just looks like that because its a computer image. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Seems like a great selection of figures in this Series. I honestly don't understand those who moan about repeats. For me, the more figures which compliment existing ones, the better. I don't think for one minute Lego has run out of ideas, they just have to try to cater for everyone, which is what makes the CMF so appealing. It's hard to see but is the palaeontologist's hat a new mould? I am hoping that the King's crown is separate from his beard. Very impressed with the sheriff too, especially as the Wild West has had some long overdue updates recently. As a fan of Adventurers I'm hoping to see the snake charmer and palaeontologist in closer view. Quote
Cagast Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Those are packages, not boxes. They just '''look''' like boxes, and I agree with SMC. Quote
Ardelon Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 My opinions on the seen figs. For the record,I dont mind the repeats at all. * Sheriff: Im surprised they gave him the mustache. Not sure he needed it, but I guess its nice to get the piece in a new color. Is that the Lone Rangers hat or a new mold? Because it doesnt seem to be the (not a) robot Sheriffs hat. * Lady Cyclops: I wonder how much tertiary sexual characteristics (makeup, eyelashes) the lady cyclops with have. Will she have negative space on her torso? Will she be usable as a monster or will she be too caricaturish? * Egyptian Warrior: I guess its nice he doesnt have the traditional headdress (as gedren_y noted its more of a royal headress), but it remains to be seen how accurate the one he got is. The shield seems inaccurate, in any case. The khopesh was expected. Though, as I said, Ill want him anyway. * Alien Trooper: Its nice to get a Cthulhu head, but how is he a trooper? * Disco Diva: Sassy. Somehow shes a lot like I expected her to be, though I did expect more glitter/sequins and stuff. * King: Cool, so it seems we get a new crown. Good to see the gnome beard in a new color. Ermine cape is a wish come true. It looks like he has a pearl gold sword, which is a shame, as I would have preferred a sceptre. * Paleontologist: So lady n. 4 is confirmed. As is the bone accessory. But whats in her other hand? * Looks like the Snake Charmer has a bicolored green-white turban? * So... does the unicorn girl have an accessory? And about one so far inindentified minifig: Goblin/Imp/Kobold: the one common mark of these is that they are short, so I would expect a sand green or olive green fig with short legs and the santa elf hat recolored. Quote
Piranha Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the pics, probably prelims but they confirm the list. On the box left to right: Unicorn Girl: Nothing new other than no design/print since this is a prelim. Snake Charmer: Bottom left is a new Cobra mold it looks like, sitting coiled. Turban looks two-tone. Disco Girl: No observations King: Awesome minifig, love the new cape, crown, printed legs and gold sword. Paleontologist: Confused at first but if you look closely this is that minifig. Tan legs, shirt is another of those short sleeve designs, hat/hair new mold combo piece, holding a bone and somehting else. Sheriff: Has a wanted poster. Really like this fig, didn't get the Robo Sheriff from the TLM Series so this is welcome. Lady Cyclops: Nothing of interest for me, pass most likely. Side of the Box, top to bottom: Egyptian Warrior: Looks awesome, like the design and another must have. Alien Trooper: Squid face. Unicorn Girl: Nothing new. Disco Girl: Nothing new. Overall this looks like another great series. With 7 more minifigs still to be revealed. Edited November 7, 2014 by Piranha Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Seems like an interesting series. Overall (like all other CMFs) it seems a lot could be passable and a few must haves, but most likely I'll pick up a set. Duplicates will depend on the end cost (I assume it will still be $3.99). So I may have to limit that due to the extra cost. I don't see the purpose in spending $100 on one set plus a few extras...when I could put that $100 to fun sets with characters I actually care about. With that said, I love the new king. A new crown and new cape are most welcome. The beard is a nice touch too. The printing looks detailed, so that may be worthy of extras. The Space villain might be neat. The space trooper you can kind of see on the smaller box. It looks just like the one we had a few series ago with the wings, only in a different color.. The disco girl is welcome since I missed out on Disco Stu clone (I wonder if Simpsons CMF will come out with him). I am upset the western figure is another lawman. We already got a sheriff back in the early days of CMF didn't we? Either way, I do want some new western figures and I like the wanted poster. It looks like the evil wizard has the Dracula cape (similar to the good wizard cape from the last set, only in black) You can see it in the small box, but no discerning details otherwise. I like army builders, but I don't know what to think of the Egyptian since I only have the Cleopatra figure. Quote
williejm Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 No, we've not had a sheriff in CMF before. I think the thing in the palaeontologist's other hand is a magnifying glass. Quote
