Ardelon Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Seems like an interesting series. Overall (like all other CMFs) it seems a lot could be passable and a few must haves, but most likely I'll pick up a set. Duplicates will depend on the end cost (I assume it will still be $3.99). So I may have to limit that due to the extra cost. I don't see the purpose in spending $100 on one set plus a few extras...when I could put that $100 to fun sets with characters I actually care about. With that said, I love the new king. A new crown and new cape are most welcome. The beard is a nice touch too. The printing looks detailed, so that may be worthy of extras. The Space villain might be neat. The space trooper you can kind of see on the smaller box. It looks just like the one we had a few series ago with the wings, only in a different color.. The disco girl is welcome since I missed out on Disco Stu clone (I wonder if Simpsons CMF will come out with him). I am upset the western figure is another lawman. We already got a sheriff back in the early days of CMF didn't we? Either way, I do want some new western figures and I like the wanted poster. It looks like the evil wizard has the Dracula cape (similar to the good wizard cape from the last set, only in black) You can see it in the small box, but no discerning details otherwise. I like army builders, but I don't know what to think of the Egyptian since I only have the Cleopatra figure. I suppose you mean the cowboy from S1? http://img1.wikia.no...8/8e/CB(21).jpg Because a Sheriff is one of the basic western minifigs weve been missing so far. No, we've not had a sheriff in CMF before. I think the thing in the palaeontologist's other hand is a magnifying glass. Hmm... I does look round and a magnifying glass is the obvious accessory, so could be. Edited November 7, 2014 by Ardelon Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I mistook the giant belt buckle for also having a sheriff star. Maybe I was also blending the LEGO Movie robot sheriff in also. I guess he was just a generic cowboy. Now I'm not as upset at having another sheriff, granted I do have the Lone Ranger sheriff, the LEGO movie sheriff, and the original one from the mid 90s.... Although I would prefer more western torsos/legs without signifying law accessories. Quote
8BrickMario Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Why are people speculating about the Snake Charmer and Unicorn Girl? We've already seen final images of them both in the magazine. That's why I think the low-res pic is preliminary, since the Charmer doesn't quite match the polished image. Quote
gedren_y Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 The Paleontologist looks to be holding a bone and a printed 1x1 round tile, probably with a fossil image. Given the fact we are getting Jurassic World sets some time in the future, this may be an allusion to the original film. Quote
telaruhn Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Sheriff: Way better than the Series 1 Cowboy. I love all his prints, though I want to see what his face looks like under his mustache. Alien Trooper: The ray gun looks interesting; I think it may be a new mold, in order to hold that dish piece in that way. His headpiece was unexpected. Unicorn Girl: She looks great. I'm thinking she won't get an accessory though, which is a shame. Not sure what she would have anyway. Egyptian Warrior: I'm not too sure about its historical accuracy, but it looks awesome regardless. I particularly like his new headpiece and shield. Disco Diva: A great counterpart to the Series 2 Disco Dude. Looks like... A dark brown afro, white skates and a golden microphone? Interesting color combo. King: Everything about this figure is detailed, right down to that cape. Looks very close to what I had imagined him looking like. Paleontologist: Ooh, that headpiece looks new, and pretty amazing at that! I'd say her non-bone accessory is a holdable coin, or perhaps a compass? Snake Charmer: LOVE that new cobra, and the new turban looks pretty nice. The rest is only okay for me, and I hope his flute has printing... Lady Cyclops: I imagined a few things for this one: First the superhero, then Leela from Futurama, but this one probably makes the most sense. It looks very similar to the Series 9 Cyclops, so I'm wondering what they did to make her look unique. I'm not against the idea of a Lady Cyclops as long as they don't slap lipstick on her and call it a day. So far, everything looks good. A good mishmash with some decent rehash. This just makes me excited to see the rest of the minifigures :) Quote
Cagast Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) It thought it was definitely a magnifying glass. However, a way she holds it makes me think it's not. I have noticed that she also has glasses. Edited November 7, 2014 by Cagast Quote
legofanatic12 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) The Paleontologist is now confirmed as female minifigure like the S5 Zookeeper and S11 Scientist, but the only male scientist minifigure is the S4 Crazy Scientist. He's not based on a profession that focuses on a field of science. Why never made a male paleontologist before since we had a S12 Female Dino Hunter? They never made a regular male scientist to be coupled with the S11 Female one. And the female paleontologist in LEGO ideas it just a generic female figure with a same parts from LEGO City or Creator. Edited November 7, 2014 by legofanatic12 Quote
Robert8 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Some thoughts: -That grey thing next to the Evil Wizard doesn't look like a minifigure to me. It looks like something else. Maybe each minifigure bag will have an extra piece and we can build something with the 16 pieces. The red letters suggest there is something going on with this series. It reminds me of the S10 Mr Gold thing. -We have never seen preliminary pictures of the CMF (as far as I can remember). So, I don't get why is some people thinking this could be a prem. -Looks like they restarted the colors of the CMF series with Series 12. But I'm guessing they skipped the S2 blue color for being pretty close to the Sky Blue used in the Simpsons series. Edited November 8, 2014 by Robert8 Quote

legofanatic12 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) @ various: Why couldnt it be a hot dog seller in a hot dog suit? Most people who works in the food service industry should wear a proper clothing like this picture below. If a person assigned as a seller or service crew man (like a person works in the fast food chain), he or she wears a uniform not a costume. That's considered violation of dress code. http://mlblogswhitesoxpride.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/3.jpg Sorry the image is too big. It's kind of weird how a person sells hot dog in the streets wearing a hot dog costume. The image next to the Evil Wizard looks like a stylized exploding CMF case box with the bags flying out from it. That means the figures are still in the blind bags like the series usually do. Robert8 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Why are people thinking the minifigures won't be in bags anymore? The German site says: Verfügbar ab Januar 2015 • Die LEGO® Minifiguren haben erneut Verstärkung bekommen! Überraschungstüte means mystery bag Edited November 8, 2014 by Robert8 Quote
legofanatic12 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) I agree with you Robert8, the CMF series is still in a mystery bag. Thanks for the info. It can't be only me who can see boxes rather than packets in the display... As Robert8 said, they are in "Überraschungstüte" which means mystery bag. Edited November 8, 2014 by legofanatic12 Quote

Sorry the image is too big. It's kind of weird how a person sells hot dog in the streets wearing a hot dog costume. Well, I hope you are being tongue in cheek. Lego does not conform to historical and real world realities. They go for what is fun, what will sell, what is recognizable, etc. I don't really think they care if their toy is violating the toy dress code seeing as it is a toy. All that being said, I would guess that the toy will look more like what you have pictured, but a hot dog suit would be so much fun! Quote
8BrickMario Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) I can't imagine why they would change the format of the packaging. Definitely bags. And @legofanatic12, that picture is probably identical to what we're getting (minus the box and foil wrap), especially since we have all of the pieces (the Butcher and Ice Cream Mike's paper hat has been predicted by several). A mascot would be fun. but I actually prefer a classic worker. But as a tradeoff, it's probably guaranteed that he will have a limiting nametag with a LEGO employee name, like Tara the waitress, Luiz the Galaxy Patrol, Licho the Space Miner, and Shami the Alien Avenger. legofanatic12 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) There will be three villains in this series. Alien Trooper, Goblin and the Evil Wizard. I don't know about the Galaxy Trooper, maybe it might be either a female human or a generic robot like the GS ones? Since we already had an Evil Mech from S11 which is similar to S9 Battle Mech. I thought the S9 Alien Trooper is actually a rival alien who turned to be a hero. Well, this is going to be expensive. Maybe it's still 3.99 each bag. Edited November 8, 2014 by legofanatic12 Quote
KristofBD Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 The king is truly a great minifig! I'll also be buying the Egyptian warrior for sure. Quote

Also, they need to ensure that many of these females are shown in a positive light, either in a high-achieving professional role (e.g. surgeon, sportswomen, scientist) or as a leading 'stronger' character (Warrior Princess, Medusa). As you can see in our 'Which Minifigures Are Missing' thread, many of the characters we seem to choose in more dominant roles are male so when there is an opportunity for a more positive character to be female, then Lego have to act accordingly. For example, in Series 12, the fairytale Princess is often seen as a more helpless 'damsel in distress' role, known only for her beauty. Therefore, Lego probably chose to make the Dino Hunter female as well as including the Battle Goddess to balance out any negative stereotyping. Edited November 8, 2014 by lifeinplastic Quote

Actually nobody cares about we have no male scientist, but already THREE mad scientist being male. On the other hand I can say 2014 was also the first year in which TLG made also female thieves for the city theme, before that all thieves and convicts were simply male. This was clearly offensive and TLG was good in repairing. It's reverse sexism. If you exxagerate on being too concerned on sexism problems, you may end having a sexism problem on the other side. Pick female pirates. Ok, Lego puts female pirates in sets, but except for some very rare and cherry picking cases, female and pirates were just carnival costumes. Quote
gedren_y Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 When it comes to the S12 Princess, she has a frog as an accessory. The story is that the princess kisses the frog and he becomes a prince. She saves the prince from a life as a frog, and therefore is the hero of that tale. Just because she is a princess in a fine gown does not make her not a hero. As to the item in the Alien Trooper's hand, it appears to be this. Quote
