jluck Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The one with the lunch box is the flight attendant torso with the Statue of Liberty dress piece. It is not a new minifig, just a mass up of existing pieces. Gotcha, well I guess we can just hope for the director then! Quote
Robert8 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) I don't think the boxers guy will be in the series Why? I mean, the "Where Are My Pants? Guy" was wearing a thong And I hope the movie director won't be another "Trucker Guy". Edited September 8, 2014 by Robert8 Quote
Dorayaki Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) Thanks! That is because we just may have our first Series 13 minifigure! These are two separate promotional artworks from Toys"R"Us. Both show this new director minifigure. He looks like a very likely contender for a future LEGO Minifigures series, with his new torso, face print, and moulded accessory! The first is from the official TRU website, the latter was a photo taken by bekindsorewind at his Toys"R"Us store.Uhm.... I don't say they're boring figures, they're interesting City additions, but honestly I think they don't reach the average level of minifigures, at most they're the quality of the male Lifeguard from s13 or TLM set figures. You may see that background pic, the woman in brown Elsa hair next to the Clown is also pretty generic. We have seen many original faces and character desings in promotional LEGO store artworks, so I might just think these ones are part of them.Of course I won't hate them if they're really in series 13. Just hope that there would be more surprises for other characters. Among other LEGO promotional artworks I especially like this girl below this year: Edited September 8, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
Robert8 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) You have a point but I think there is a difference. All the others are just random minifigures (except, maybe, the one in underwear) while the guy with the beret isn't: He is an easily recognizable Director, because he was intentionally depicted in that way. If he ends being a S13 minifigure, he won't be a highlight for sure, but I see him at the same level of the S2 Ringmaster or the S10 Sea Captain. Edited September 8, 2014 by Robert8 Quote
lifeinplastic Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Well the Sea Captain is one of my favourite figures and I think the boxer shorts guy would be a great figure to have! I also hope for more 'summer holiday' family figures like Dorayaki's swimming girl (still waiting for Paradisa to return after 18 years!). I am extremely disappointed that there will be a CMF Simpsons No. 2 as it would suggest we'll only get 2 normal series next year again instead of the usual 3. Plus the fact there weren't really any new accessories except for the new moulded heads, which isn't particularly useful for building anything non-Simpsons. I don't dislike the show but didn't buy the minifig series. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) I am delighted by the possibility of a classic, archetypal, "Golden Age of Hollywood"-style movie director. I've been suggesting one since at least as far back as February of 2011, and this one fits the bill, even if it doesn't have the jodhpurs I'd hoped for. Maybe if we're really lucky it'll have an accessory not shown here, a clapperboard. That would be fantastic (even if realistically, usually someone else would actually carry and use the clapperboard on-set). If he ends being a S13 minifigure, he won't be a highlight for sure, but I see him at the same level of the S2 Ringmaster or the S10 Sea Captain. As indicated above, for me he'd not only be a personal highlight, but the fulfillment of a wish I've had for this whole theme for most of the time it's been around. I am really, really jonesing for that Movie Director! Edited September 8, 2014 by Blondie-Wan Quote
Borador Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I'm pretty sure we aren't getting that girl in the pool. I mean, the boy next to her is very generic and unrealistic new mold using, and it seems weird that they'd put her there next to a figure that would never exist. Boxer guy is also probably a no. At least for this series. I hope to get him eventually. The heart covered boxers is a classic cartoon gag that I'd love to have in LEGO. The director? I'd say yes. I hope yes. But since S12 is barely out yet, we may be jumping the gun a bit... (That said, I am pretty sure we're getting that Director.) Quote

I can see a new character with the beret hat reintroduced (which has only been used by Winter Market outside CMF), and a director is one of the feasible choices. But maybe it should be the time for a non-black color.I also hope for more 'summer holiday' family figures like Dorayaki's swimming girl (still waiting for Paradisa to return after 18 years!).I am extremely disappointed that there will be a CMF Simpsons No. 2 as it would suggest we'll only get 2 normal series next year again instead of the usual 3. Suppsoe that TLG wouldn't like to introduce more kinds of swimsuits in regular City Coast sets, yeah, it would be nice to see more different kinds of beach lovers in CMF line. That girl with her lifebouy would be more popular than the male Lifeguard. It's ashame that most beautiful swimsuit prints are used for Friends minidolls.I don't know what LEGO's schedule is going to be, I just hope that they can add their production lines so that special and normal series can race together. Adding special series doesn't dissapoint me, but a potentially upcoming Simpsons 2 is what sounds boring, I am delighted by the possibility of a classic, archetypal, "Golden Age of Hollywood"-style movie director. I am really, really jonesing for that Movie Director! I also missed the Studio ideas. Maybe a studio could have been given in TLM sets for shooting "Where Are My Pants". I'd also like to see a folding chair but it might be too big for a blind bag. I'm pretty sure we aren't getting that girl in the pool. I mean, the boy next to her is very generic and unrealistic new mold using, and it seems weird that they'd put her there next to a figure that would never exist. Boxer guy is also probably a no. Yes, some of the official artworks do have the problem of unrealistic parts. It's just one of the examples which proves some LEGO artworks can be interesting and creative. To me, obviously that background scene is showing that a tailor is measuring the boxer guy's waisteline, and that tailor is also necessary. We've not seen a pair in any CMF artwork, so it could just be a simple artwork. The "Where Are My Pants" Guy could have been a better candidate for that boxer. MAB Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) I'd like the boxer shorts guy too. Especially if this series was out around Valentine's day, he could be a big draw for purchasers. The mix of parts in the girl with the lunch box is awful though. The jacket doesn't finish, and the robes from Lady Liberty don't look like a skirt. Edited September 9, 2014 by MAB Quote
fred67 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 As my interest in CMF is waning, I actually am glad for Simpsons 2... I don't know what TLG is thinking, but more obscure figures or versions of the characters would be awesome for me... but I can't imagine they'd be nearly as successful as the first go round. As for series 13, I like the idea of a director, but it would be nice to just get LEGO Studios back for another run. I think I'd be fine with the swimmers... nothing special, but adding a pool to a city layout wouldn't be too bad. Quote
LegoDakin Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 It would be good if we got more children collectable minifigures as we had a few in the Simpsons & I thought they were good Quote
Robert8 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 There is a little girl in the Alexandre Boudon designs. She could be released as a "Kindergarten Girl" or something like that. Quote

fred67 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Brickforge used to have a Centaur body... I suppose it didn't sell all that well, since they no longer seem to make it. I luckily bought a few when they came out. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 ^I didn't know they quit making them. I always considered buying some, but they were too expensive for me at 5$ apiece. Back on topic, I think my interest is waning also. I want to buy them. I like some of the prints or accessories and the aftermarket prices for some of those pieces can be ridiculous. But I typically buy the series, then throw them in a box together and never look at them again. Including Simpsons. My daughter loves them and she would be around the target age (a little young at 4), so I guess I keep buying for her. Although I want to keep it as a collection instead of a play toy..silly me. Most "children" don't have a career so it's difficult for TLG to come up with a reasonable idea like Grandma Visitor. A kindergarten girl would be a stereotypical being like the Grandparents. And to be honest, the choices of hairstyles for children is really few. Leia's might be licensed, Tina's is not seperable, and the classic pigtails wouldn't return in a short time. Unfortunately Centaur couldn't fit in a regular blindbag and this must rely on regular sets. Harry Potter was a miss, so we have to see if any future Castle set or the rumored Elves get in charge. Actually they did a "Grandpa" in Series 10 and "Grandma" in Series 11, and they were excellent ones (I loved the Grandpa Hairs). So, it could work all the way. And to be honest, the choices of hairstyles for children is really few. Leia's might be licensed, Tina's is not seperable, and the classic pigtails wouldn't return in a short time. Considering the new molds they designed (eg, again, the Grandpa's one), this is no problem. Unfortunately Centaur couldn't fit in a regular blindbag and this must rely on regular sets. Unconfirmed. They said the same with the Medusa's Snake body, but it fitted with no problems. Harry Potter was a miss, so we have to see if any future Castle set or the rumored Elves get in charge. Actually, this theme it is said to be a "friends-like" theme, with dolls instead of minifigures, so no Centaurs. Quote
Borador Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 A centaur body would be much bigger that Medusa, though. It'd have to be as big as a horse. Which would either not fit, or (the more likely option) it'd be too easy to feel for. So not too fair. These things may have been true of Medusa, but they would be much more extreme in the case of a centaur. Quote

Uh, didn't I say there are Grandparents? There have been some teenage CMFs, though not wearing any uniform. There could be students in future CMFs but not sure if they could be creative enough. It's offtopic, but when we say Centaur it's obviously going to be a new mold,. It's nothing to do with being in a minidoll theme or not. Physically I don't know how TLG can come up with an appropriate Centaur lower body that can be put in a blind bag without being found. If they manage to make it work, I'll be waiting for that. Quote
Blakstone Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I am not sure how much LEGO is concerned about people feeling bags. Medusa and the genies were very easy to feel. That said, I think a centaur mold is a much more complex mold with multiple connection points. That means that it would be more expensive that most of the CMF's new molds. Quote
Eikichi Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I would really enjoy a fiddler. Or any other musician, really. I think it's a lack in general LEGO themes. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) Thank you very much for the information and the pics, just2good! I really like to read that there is going to be minimum one regular CMF series in 2015! The boxer shorts guy looks fine. So does the director. And the girl would make a nice CMF, too. Now we'd need a new TV / studios theme (I don't mean one to actually make movies, but only to play)! Apart from Star Wars I'm no fan of licensed themes in general. The only good thing with Simpsons CMF is they are not skin color but standard yellow. So some torsos and pants - esp. the kids' pants - are useful for putting your own City minifigs together. It would be good if we got more children collectable minifigures as we had a few in the Simpsons & I thought they were good. I completely agree with you, LegoDakin! TLG seems to have forgotten that even in the world of CMFs there are not only adults but even kids. There is a little girl in the Alexandre Boudon designs. She could be released as a "Kindergarten Girl" or something like that. Thanks for the picture, Robert8! The kindergarten girl indeed would make a great minifigure! But there could and should be much more kids minifigures, e. g. girl with skipping-rope, school boy with large bag, girl with pink Lego bucket, boy with blue Lego bucket, boy with yo-yo, girl with swim ring, boy with water pistol, ...
