gedren_y Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 What Artanis was getting at was that the word 'Confederate' may be a mistranslation. I am of the mind that this list is likely bunk, but will wait and see. Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 No, not possible, and here's why: confederates are often associated with racism. Now we can debate politics all day, whether such a figure would indeed be racist or not, but the fact remains that when people see a confederate, they know what cause they were fighting for (well, it was actually way more complex than that, but whatever), so LEGO would be taking a bit of a risk making one. In addition to that, the "Union Officer" in the Lone Ranger set was a character in a movie; not a CMF Union Officer, therefore there's no "opposite" to be had. Quote
AyliffeMakit Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 All this talk of the rumored list being possibly mistranslated gave me an idea... ...I put the list through Bad translator 1. Thief 2. Soldiers 3. Penguin jacket. 4. Contact 5. Pipe 6. A slacker. 7. Professor 8. The wolf man. 9. Charming snake. 10. Doll 11. Hot springs trip. 12. Children 13. Mailman. 14. The waiter. 15. Management 16. Motorcyclists. I think this list could possibly be considered plausible. But yeah, I think that the proper list is probably at least partly true, but some bits could have been misheard or misinterpreted in some way. Quote
jamesster Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) Just glancing through this topic... Got nothing to really say about this supposed list. Seems a bit odd. The other delimma is that, suppose that they're physically made, would they also become playable in this game and confuse other players who can't tell the difference between NPCs and other players? This is a somewhat older post, but I thought I'd mention that there are already many minifigures in the MMO that are both NPCs and playable characters. At least five of the minifigures in series 12 are NPCs (and of course they're also playable and can be unlocked via the codes in their bags), plus quite a few from older series both appear as NPCs and player characters. For example, the Heroic Knight and Chicken Suit Guy are both playable, but the Heroic Knight is also used for a lot of medieval world NPCs (sometimes with color/printing variations), and the Chicken Suit Guy appears as an NPC in some odd situations (like being trapped in a cage, captured by series 11 Tiki Islander NPCs). Here's a screenshot of me, playing as the Video Game Guy, with the NPC Video Game Guy slightly behind me: Edited October 27, 2014 by jamesster Quote

Agree, I'm not really into a list written in Brickipiedia even if the context is appealing (and unfortunately it's not to me). Thanks for your great reply, I'm just too busy recently so not yet getting to this game and even series 12. So it looks like some of them are identical, but in game we may see one moving and one standing without doing things, which is the most basic way. Back to the previous topic, some series 12 characters had made NPC apppearances before the game launch, but not sure if some characters who are currently NPCs only would become playable and physical in 2015. In Universe's case, most original characters were directly designed by game developers instead of TLG, so perhaps it's the major reason why Universe characters didn't have time to become a CMF series. But what about this time? Edited October 28, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
General Magma Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 The snake charmer sounds interesting. If true, I wonder if it will come with a new snake mold... though that's probably a necessity for this kind of thing. Quote
Robert8 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 We got Series 9 list on October 28 and The LEGO Movie Series list (and pictures) on November 1st. We should already have the S13 list I'm thinking that this list ... could be ... real Quote

legofanatic12 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Playmobil had both confederate and union soldiers in its Wild West theme if they could do it I don't see why Lego can't But LEGO has only Union Soldiers in the old Western theme and Lone Ranger sets. Quote
Borador Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Playmobil had both confederate and union soldiers in its Wild West theme if they could do it I don't see why Lego can't LEGO is a much higher profile company, and they've dealt with being called racist before. It isn't something they'd want to do. Also, don't forget that the Playmobil figures were in the context of a civil war theme. A Confederate CMF would not have that context. It would just be a single figure all by its lonesome. If they had done a union guy earlier, then maybe, but they haven't. Quote

This'll be even better than Piggy. Must. Create. Penguin. Army. Quote
TNT apples Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 On the back of the Lego Club magazine sent out today, were pictures of what seems to be two new minifigures for next year, a unicorn-suit girl and a snake charmer. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, here's some pictures: Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Hmmm. Unicorn-suit girl is a bit of a departure since we typically get people dressed as real animals...but I'll take it. Still holding out for a cow-suit guy or girl, though. Quote
ghostmind Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) Unicorn Girl and Snake Charmer... so the list is partially correct? Edited November 3, 2014 by ghostmind Quote
Rick Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102105 Unicorn Girl and Snake Charmer... so the list is partially correct? I've merged the two threads, so the information is now in the posts above yours. Quote
Onslaught Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Could it be the army man in the picture? Quote
TNT apples Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Could it be the army man in the picture? That's a forest policeman I think, similar to the forest police sets in 2012. Quote

ghostmind Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Awesome - thank you. The list sounds more plausible than the original, but has a lot of similarities to previous CMF series. Quote
Slurpifier Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Another Samurai? List still seems iffy to me. Quote
